Good afternoon all. It’s cold and wet here ☹️

Oam , harking back to hire suits, DD didn’t check the sizes of the hire suits and OH’s suit was one size too small, he didn’t discover that until the morning of DD’s wedding. He spent the day holding his breath and not being able to do up the waistcoat and jacket !
How is B’s shoulder and elbow.

    Gem how is puss today

I went to town today to return the dress to Debenhams, which you may recall there was a kerfuffle last week claiming it had already been returned. Well long story short... Rang customer service and indeed it is showing up as a refund on my account so I explained this to the lady behind the counter and I asked her to sign a note I had made out stating that it has been returned to the store. She was very helpful, not only did she sign and date it, she wrote explaining what Debenhams will do with the dress and she even put the till number down so that it can been seen through the store CCTV if needed. Talk about thorough!
I then went to M and S and brought a £35 pink jacket using gift cards I had for mother’s day , when I used them along side my Sparks card I just had to pay £5 ! A real bargain. Was a little disappointed that I was able to find any decent dresses or skirts. In almost every shop I looked in any dresses they did have were very dark, lots of blacks and navy blues and as for skirts... they were mostly pleated....is that the current fashion I wonder.
Years of working in a dry cleaners , pressing endless amounts of pleated skirts has put me off pleats, it was bad enough when I was at school, navy blue pleated skirts were part of the uniform.
I am looking for cotton, floaty dresses or skirts. Any ideas anyone. I have looked in M and S , Debenhams and Peacocks

    Have a good day everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Sunshine, welcome home - you were lucky with the weather! Glad you enjoyed it.

Oma - I can imagine the panic if B hadn't tried the suit on before Friday! Phew, crisis avoided. I hope the injection in his shoulder helps.

Gem - poor DS1, I bet he was disappointed yesterday afternoon. Well done, getting your leaflets done while the weather was good. Do you think the splint if helping?

Plant, I'm sure it would help your friend to join some social groups like WI - lots of activities plus other ladies who have been through similar sad events, and the opportunity to make some new friends. I'm sure she appreciated your kindness yesterday. Does she live near enough to join one of your activities?

Nanto - you are a busy bee! It's lovely when the kitchen is all clean and sparkly, isn't it!

Mimi - your OH was lucky he could even get into the suit, but he must have been very uncomfortable. I've been trying to think where you might get a dress from, unless you try some of the online labels. I can't understand why places like Marks think we want to live in dreary dark clothes like Victorian maiden aunts!

My hair is all nicely trimmed and feels a lot tidier. I did a bit of shopping, including buying something for lunch as the fridge is empty (and I can't blame Oma's DD's cat, Buzz), and a few bits and pieces, two pairs of sandals and some birthday cards.

I cooked at lunch-time as we're going out fairly early tonight - to the theatre.

Enjoy your theatre trip Daisy. I am having my hair cut on Thursday, can't wait.

Daisy my friend lives towards the end of our road, she is very friendly with all of the residents and several pop in. One of her daughter would like her to move nearer to her but there is a chance that another DD will be moving nearer. I think she is feeling depressed and not eating properly. They were a very close couple and did everything together, he was a very kind man. We go to the cinema when there is something we both want to watch. I was pleased I bumped into her, she had a few tears when we were talking about her OH. I am hoping she will join WI.

Injection went well . They did a scan first to pin point exact place it needed to go .

Went to shopping centre and Sainsbury's .
I bought a nice white cardigan to take away and they had a nice sleeveless white cotton blouse but again not in my size lots of 10/22/24s s I came home and did click and collect again
Seem to be doing a lot of that lately .

Mimi we had that trouble at DD,s wedding , SIL had to swap trousers with Bestman as his trousers were to short . Only Best man's waist was bigger so I had to dash to SIL and put a big nappy pin in the waist band and a elastic band around Best man's button hole so he could wrap it around the button to keep trousers clossed . Luck they had longer waist coats on to hide them
Im not fat just 6ft too small

LOL, all these suit catastrophe stories!!
Mimi, my cat seems fine today thank you.
I"m glad the injection went well Oma.
Daisy, what are you going to see tonight?

We bought some pebbles for the rented house front garden. For us cat litter, photo frames a scented candle and cat food. Also 3 larger children's garden chairs. from B&Q. We only have 2 and they are tiny. These were £15 each, so it was worth buying them today for the 10% discount.

No sign of the thunderstorm yet.

Good morning from this reluctant lark! I may not have chance to get back on here till tonight, so just a quick 'hi'.

Gem - we went to see "A comedy about a Bank Robbery" - I'll write about it later.

I'm up and about early to go and pick GD2 up and bring her back here ready for a hospital appointment in Southampton at lunch time! Then I'll probably bring her back here before taking her home for tea, if she's feeling ok. It's for an eye check up and she's got to have drops in her eyes and they seem to affect her quite badly. We're still struggling with road closures on the way to the hospital, so not looking forward to the journey either!

              Hope everyone's ok. xx

Gem, we never got the thunderstorms either.

Hubby has decided he wants, sorry he needs an apple tree, to go next to the plum tree.
So, thats one of our jobs for today.

                  Good morning ladies.

A wet night here, but the rain has stopped. OH is glad as it is golf day.
Choosing a tree is a nice job Nan2, unlike buying gravel yesterday for us!
Poor little GD Daisy. If it's like the drops I have had for cataract ops and other eye investigations, they really sting At least she will then have some Grandma time afterwards. I hope she's not in too much discomfort.
I hope Qwerty is having a lovely time in the sun!

My job this morning is making buns for GS2's party on Saturday. In keeping with his current fairy tale obsession I have 3 Little Pigs themed cake toppers.
This afternoon I will do Mum's shopping take that to her then drop her at her friends house for a couple of hours. I think I will go to see my auntie whilst Mum is there, as it is only about a mile down the road.

This evening is my Mother's Day treat DDs 1 and 2 and taking me to one of my favourite restaurants for a meal. The three of us almost never get time together without children and/or my mum so it will be nice to actually chat!

                  Have a good Thursday everyone.

Good morning. Wet and windy here again.

Hope all goes well for your GD at the hospital Daisy, always difficult when it’s a child. We have oncologist pre chemo appointment today, she will be pleased at how well P is doing I’m sure. We will be there for most of the day what with blood tests, etc so will have our lunch there as usual.

                    How is puss today Gem?

                          Good Moaning Each,
A pleasant morning here so far weather wise. Today I have to go shopping with OH for summer weight trousers that don’t make him look like a barge in full sail! His waist is larger now but that means if he buys a bigger size the backside and hips are flapping in the breeze. I am not looking forward to this and I will make sure I am rewarded with lunch.
I had thought I would have a look in Hotter for some light walking shoes, but having read Glammas thread and had a look at Josef Seibel’s web site I am smitten!
Have a good day all, and I hope all appointments go well.

Well ive been sorting overnight bag for wedding tomorrow we have to be up early tomorrow to get me to Hairdressers for 9 then back the other way to pick up a grumpy MIL( she doesn't do early mornings ) then a 45 minute drive to Venue for 11.30 so we can all get into our wedding stuff , wedding at 1pm so going to be a long day ,

Didn't get much sleep last night again but this time it was a combination of B snoring and house alarm went off twice , B slept through it all unusual for him but he didn't stir , I tried turning him on his side while he was snoring but he's put quite a bit of weight on so he's not the skinny Minnie he was , it was easier and quieter to come down stairs
Im not fat just 6ft too small
