Sorry to hear your cough Oma, family gathering not the place to be when you are coughing.

Clover have a lovely walk, it is good that G still enjoys his walks. Don't forget that bed.

You all make me feel ashamed as I am still not dressed, bit late going to bed as I joined the family gathering after I got back from my National Trust meeting. the talk was about Stanley Spencer, famous local artist. The family were looking at family photo albums, lots of ahhs and laughter. GD1 and boyfriend are coming after work to stay and GS1 and his family will pop in tomorrow. They are all going for a long walk in the Chilterns today and planning a BBQ later if the weather holds. I am going to DS and Dil later to take some spray hoping to kill some ivy which is ruining their fence. I had better get a move on. tummy still dodgy, diet of brown rice and banana atm. Sil insisted a brandy was a good medicine.

Enfys, hope you have some news as to how long P will be in hospital. Keep strong and look after yourself.

Morning all. OH has just finished mowing the lawn and I have tidied up the boarders. I was hoping that some fresh air would rid me of this migraine that has been hanging around for days. I need to go to the pharmacy and see what they can advise as the tablets I used to take haven't been available for almost 12 months now and they were the only ones that would be of any effect in shifting this pain and nausea.
Its now gone over cast outside and OH still has to mow the lawn out the back .

Oma that cough is certainly hanging on isn't it. Sleeping must be hard when it disturbers you like that .

Gem, how is your knee today ?

Enfys I know you want to keep yourself occupied while P is in hospital but don't do too much, knitting looks like a nice relaxing thing for you to do.

Clover enjoy the walk , hope G enjoys it also. Don't forget the bed. once when I was working I striped the bed before going to work so that I could get them in the washing machine and I forgot that when I got home I had to make the bed. oh the disappointment as all I wanted was a cool shower and a lie down on the bed

        Have a good day everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi - I feel for you having such a horrible migraine. I hope you can find something to shift it.

Enfys - that looks perfect, relaxing in the garden with a very attractive cool drink, a good book and your knitting. I should think that takes a fair bit of concentration on 4 needles! It's a pretty colour.

Clover - I hope you managed your walk - I'm sure it's good for both of you. In the end OH just went into the village for essentials - we didn't get going very early and the roads and supermarket will be a nightmare on a sunny Bank Holiday Saturday. But he is very good doing the shopping, even though we have some interesting interpretations of the shopping list - like 40 stock cubes instead of 12! He doesn't cook so has no idea about quantities. I wanted 3 or 4 ordinary sized green peppers recently to use in kebabs - and he got half a dozen and they were enormous! But he's getting better with Sell By dates! I'm glad I'm not the only one whose gardening intentions don't always translate into activity!!

Plant - we're often not dressed at 11 o'clock! I like to potter round first, sit down and have a cup of tea and then often do a bit more pottering before heading for the shower!

Oma - You must be feeling worn out not wanting to go to the birthday party - but probably better to rest and not have to shout.

              Hope your cough goes soon.

Enfys,i will start posting good morning graphics again.
              Hope the knitting relaxes you.
Mimi, i know migraines feel like.I started having them when i was 40.
Had them for about 10 years.Doctor said they were age related.
              Clover,hope you managed your walk.
Gem, hope you are enjoying the visit to Emmerdale.

                Evening All.
Reporting in after a splendid holiday in the South of France (it rained) and then on to Spain (Costa Brava) unseasonably cool but wonderful anyway. Our friends who we stayed with came up trumps yet again and we went to some beautiful places.
Have caught up on chat as best I can, now off to read the other threads.
                Have a good weekend all.

Welcome back Grauntie. How is the puss cat?
I hope you can get some treatment for the migraines Mimi.
Nan2 I had migraines when I was in my 30's I think, now I have one once in a blue moon.
I hope you managed to relax a bit Enfys.
Plant and Daisy, we are often not dressed before 11 too!
Oma I hope the cough let's you rest better tonight.

We had a really good day today. I will write about it tomorrow
It began to rain as we were leaving the set so the timing was good for us!
We picked up a Charlie Bigham fish pie from Tesco on the way home and had that and veg for tea, then caught up with last nights soaps which we missed as we were out babysitting. The female cats miss us when we have been out that long so cuddles on knees have been had.

Grauntie - welcome back. You have been missed! Would love to hear whereabouts in France and Spain you've visited. It's great being with someone who lives there and knows the area well. It sounds as though the weather has been more British than Southern European.

Oma - you need some knock out cough drops tonight to get some respite from your donkey cough. xx

Gem - look forward to hearing about your trip to Emmerdale.

Nanto - at least your fridge is probably very well stocked!

I ended up doing more washing than gardening - I didn't realise the laundry bin was so full! For course the ironing pile is now mountainous! We took Eva for a run in the paddock. She's spending the day with DS2 (Cooper's family) tomorrow. We're going up to DS1's and then on to DIL's father and step-mother who are putting on a party for DIL's step-father for his 65th birthday. (I hope you're keeping up with this!) We usually take Eva, but they have just had a new lawn laid and the dogs tearing round would probably ruin it, so Eva gets a day at Cooper's instead. I hope the weather stays fine for the barbecue.

Looking a bit overcast this morning.Had 2 short showers yesterday evening.

Hope all the poorlies and anyone feeling out of sorts are better soon.

                        Welcome back Grauntie.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else. Nice to see the return of the graphic Nan2.

Have a lovely bbq Daisy, with rain staying away.

It rained overnight which I am glad about! I am going to my mum's to weed her front garden and plant out her summer bedding. The ground is like rock, so rain is helpful.
On the way I will pick up some cat litter (exciting!) and a new wireless mouse. The dongle bit of ours has snapped so it is useless now.

                          Have a good day everyone

Good morning Nanto, Gem and everyone.

Nanto - welcome back to your cheery and pretty graphics. x

It's dry here, but a bit overcast and a bit of a breeze. I can't decide what to wear for the family BBQ! Winter woollies or skimpy top and shorts - perhaps not skimpy anything, but something summery.

We're dropping Eva off at DS2's first so she'll have a lovely time with the girls and Cooper. We will be going in the opposite direction to the holiday traffic so hopefully we won't find ourselves spending most of the day on the M3!

Gem - I hope your mum's garden isn't too dry - even a good shower of rain might not have helped much. When you said about getting cat litter and a new wireless mouse I thought you meant a new cat toy!!!

I hope you've all slept well last night, including poorly ones, and have a good day today.

LOL Daisy, no the cat litter and the mouse are unrelated

Oma, I'm glad you got more sleep. I have Voltarol now so hoping that will help my knee. It wasn't too bad on the tour yesterday.

One of OH golf friends is coming to tea. Only sausages mash and veg, but she lives alone having been widowed some years ago, and appreciates a meal out whatever it is!
