Hello everyone! Just a bit late checking in today!
We woke up this morning to horizontal rain, and lots of it, and a flooded garden. We were going to a big lunch in Bournemouth and were wondering if we'd even be able to get out of the village! Fortunately the way we went was ok, and there was very little traffic on the road all the way. So we arrived quite early, and by the time we were sitting comfortably by the fire with a coffee, the sun was sparkling on the sea and everything looked beautiful. It didn't last - the rain kept coming and going, but we had a lovely lunch and caught up with a lot of old friends, and made a couple of new ones. It's quite shocking how these annual events seem to come round so quickly.
On the way back we did a quick supermarket shop and a trip to the garden centre to get some special cards, and a new Nyger seed feeder - it's Christmas for the birds, too!
Qwerty - Is your neck etc feeling better no? It sounds very uncomfortable. I hope you're toasty warm after getting drenched.
Enfys - how was your new WI? I'd like to rejoin, but ours is an evening one, and I don't know if I want to commit to that.
Nanto - I bet your in laws feel all ready for Christmas now. You are kind to them. xx
Avo - the cakes sound delicious. The Christmas tree festival sounds lovely - as I'm sure the choir will be, too.
Plant - another busy day for you. Especially with such awful weather.
Mimi - I sympathise, it seems to get worse and worse until you think you can't stand the upheaval any more, then suddenly, all the workmen have gone and you've got a shiny new kitchen to play in. Keep your pecker up - it will be worth it.
Nana - after your busy week-end I'm not surprised you need to take it easy. You put such a lot of work into all the preparations. xx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

No fun when you get so wet Qwerty!
We had a good day, GD taken and collected from school, GS amused and fed and put down for afternoon nap. After tea we took them to see the Christmas lights in a cu de de sac not far away. GS was totally bowled over, loved it and cried bitterly when we had to leave! GD at 9 is obviously developing good taste. She enjoyed them but said she would hate to live down there with all the bright lights, and all the lights she pointed out on the way home which she liked were much more understated

Yes well done Gemini, weather not much fun.
Roads were flooded when I was out this morning, pleased to get back and have a warm shower to wash my hair for the hairdresser and didn't go out again.
Hope your neck has improved Qwerty and you have shaken off the lergy.
Enfys, how did the WI go, we have two in our village and I belong to the morning one, really enjoy it, hope you do too. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Good morning Nanto and everyone who follows.
It's windy here, but only drizzly rain at the moment. I hope it stays that way for our outdoor dog training session at lunch time - it's not much fur for us or the dogs if it's very wet.
Sunshine - I hope you're all packed up ready for your cruise. Do you leave from Southampton?
Apart from dog training, I want to put a casserole in the slow cooker ready for guests tomorrow, and get the washing done, plus a bit of tidying up. There's no point in doing a 'proper job' as the decorators will (hopefully) start on Tuesday, so the whole house will be a tip again.
Whatever you're doing today, take care and keep warm and dry.

Good morning everyone.
2 little people are here in bed, for apple juice, biscuits and Pingu. A nice relaxed start after the early one yesterday to get GD to school
We take them over to their other grandparents this afternoon . We will pop over to mum's after dropping them off.
Have a good day everyone.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Morning all, DS's birthday today, I am going to pop to theirs for coffee and take his present when I am dressed. I will call at the parade to get some stamps and post some cards. Nothing else planned, might wrap some presents. Don't envy you your dog training Daisy. Sunshine have a lovely pre-Christmas holiday, come back refreshed. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Just doing the last of the packing for my cruise, leaving tomorrow. Yes Daisy, I am leaving from Southampton. It is great not having to mess about, waiting around at airports. As soon as I step on the ship,I am on holiday!
I will be incommunicado now for a couple of weeks, while I am away. Wishing everyone a good run up to the Christmas festivities. I will try to touch base when I get back, just before the big day.
Love to you all 🎄🌲Always face the sunshine and the shadows fall behind you.

Good morning, only just got up!! Didn’t have a good night then the alarm went off at 7.00 for OH to have his breakfast and his chemo tablets. He has to have them after food and 12 hours apart so it’s important to get it right but means we’re up much earlier than we would be. I went back to bed and snoozed for a bit. Otherwise all is OK.
went to the new WI yesterday, it was OK. It because it was their Christmas meeting we couldn’t really judge what it would be like normally so will go to the January meeting before we decide. I did however meet up with an old friend who I hadn’t seen for about 5 years so that was good and we exchanged numbers to keep in touch.
Enjoy your cruise, Sunshine. We loved cruising from Southampton, so easy and as you say, once you’re on board you’re on holiday. Where are you going, I think I’ve missed that.
Off to my knit and Natter group after lunch. Have a good day everyone ☀️"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss
