Oh poor B! I burned myself last week when some mince from the shepherds pie I was preparing shot up onto my cheek It was red and sore for a few hours but then calmed down. Sweet mincemeat would be thicker and burn more.

Made worse when he was washing his face the day later forgot about it and scrubbed his face with the towel getting dried , my white towel was full of blood bless him

Sunny ad misty here. Bowls for me this afternoon, I made some mince pies yesterday so I am taking some for my bowling friends. Still haven't got the tree up, need to get sil to get it down for me but I know he has a busy week.

Nice morning here, sunny and dry. We Went out earlier as DH wanted to get some more jogging bottoms as he finds them really comfy for wearing around the house. As he’s so tall we always have problems getting things long enough but managed last time in Matalan so popped along there and luckily they had some. We also went into Dunelm and I bought two lovely Christmas portmerieon mugs. We are now back home, enjoying proper coffee In our new mugs.

We have Dexter later so I am taking him for a walk to deliver a few local cards.
Oma, that was a nasty burn for Brian, that will teach him not to sniff, but it must be so sore.

Just emptied all my kitchen cupboards out and washed shelves , then the draws . That led to pulling the fridge then the freezer out to clean under them , and sorted under the sink .
Didn't intend doing any of it but it snowballs doesn't it one thing leads to another .
Mind you getting down to clean bottom cupboards not easy these days , I can't kneel so have so sit sideways on ,getting up is a feat in its self 😲
Didn't help the dog kept shoving his nose in and kept trying to lick my ears 😂😂 . He thinks it's play time if I get on the floor .

Please.please come and do my kitchen cupboards Oma, my kitchen could do with a deep clean. Can't remember how long it is sine my fridge was pulled out and when the new dishwasher was delivered recently the delivery men didn't give me time to wash behind. We have a local cleaning company I might book one of their staff for a day to get it all cleaned. Getting on the floor is definitely a no no for me now.

A friend of my DD'S has just started her own cleaning business and she's booked solid , she's surprised how many people are wanting cleaners these days . She's getting bookings from retired people and even young people who work long hours , a lot want their ovens cleaned for Christmas 😀

Speaking of cupboards,i cleaned my cupboard yesterday,when i checked baking supplies.
Some things were well out of date,so had to be thrown away.

Oma,in laws are ok thank you.
This is the first chance i've had to come here since early this morning.
Just after i got home,we had visitors, then we had something to eat.
When i got home,hubby told me had made arrangements to go to and see eldest grandaughter and partner,to deliver presents.
Not going till about 5ish.
So,thats my day taken up.

What a busy crew we are this week. I'm sure we could do without coughs (Qwerty) and mishaps (everybody else, it seems!)

I had high hopes of doing some cooking for week-end tonight, but I feel worn out so I'm going to have an early night. It's frustrating when there aree things you want and need to do, but you feel as though you're running on empty.

It was a rather long day at the hospital (I'll write on the OH's health thread), came home, made lunch, and then went over to DS2's shop. He was off sick with a nasty cough and cold, so I went tin to make DIL a cup of tea and mind the shop for a few minutes while she ate her lunch. Then I walked down to the schools to collect the girls. GD2 was alternating between exquisite joy at being a Helping Hand in class (something to do with taking the register to the office, I think!) and floods of tears over nothing. GD1 didn't catch on that she was so tired and wound her up, so more tears. I was able to just drop them off at home so got home a bit earlier.

Tomorrow's my usual manic Tuesday.

She's tiny only 4ft 11 without shoes Plant so anyone looks like a giant next to her , but yes I think they are 6ft or so

Quick good morning from me. I'm going to collect Cooper and bring him back here until picking up time so I can get on with some baking. This is a high risk activity with Cooper who can and does reach right to the back of the worktops if he sees a tasty morsel! I'll let you know how we get on!!!

Good morning all.
Going out for Christmas lunch today with OH, it’s his treat so looking forward to it. Will do a bit of last minute Christmas shopping and buy a new small bin for the kitchen, oh the glamour of it all

Oma my DD is only 4ft 8 so your DD is taller than her. She used to be annoyed at her height, or rather lack of it but she’s not so bothered about it now, it’s just the issue she has with buying shoes for herself. She is only a size 2 and finding ladies shoes in that size is near on impossible unless she goes to an online shoe shop that stocks tiny women’s shoes and they come at a huge price. Some people have said to her that she is lucky because she can wear children’s shoes that cost less but when she points out that when you are all glammed up ready for a night out black school don’t really go with it.
She has two cousins who are taller and bigger that the Beast ( from TV The Chase ) so when she stands in the middle of them she looks even smaller.


Qwerty how is the cough, wrap up well if you are going out. I don’t know what it is like where you are but it’s pouring down with rain here.


I see that some of you have been busy washing out cupboards and fridges. I had to wash out our fridge yesterday as an opened bottle of prosecco that was sitting in the fridge door fell and spilled most of the contents all over the inside What a waste!
