DD, GD1 and her boyfriend are back now, not sure where Sil is. DD works in a school supporting a blind girl, the school is down a long lane and the parents were not able to fetch some of the girls so she stayed for a bit but managed to get home about half an hour ago. Our problem is that when we leave the village to get anywhere we have hills to go up or down being on the Chiltern Hills. The village comes to a standstill when we have lots of snow and the children are out with their toboggans, I expect they are hoping to have a day off tomorrow. GD1 and her boyfriend work for Waitrose and they have to be at work for 6 am tomorrow, the gritters are out now they tell me but the temp is due to drop overnight. I wonder if my DS and Dil are back home yet. GD1 has left her car at their house as she was passing and they both came home in boyfriends car and he is staying the night. I am pleased I do not have any pressing engagements tomorrow. Sky signal back.

Good evening everyone. It's been a long, long day and too late to chat now. See you tomorrow.

Goodness me Plant... what a surprise. All that unexpected snow. I'm pleased everyone's back where they should be. Sometimes the weather affects TV signal. The cars are frosted over tonight & the forcast for tomoro is -4°. I'm not sure if it was about this time last year when we had the Beast from the East snow.

I made a start on the first embroidery today so aim to finish it tomoro (or should I say today?). Oma well done on your bargains. Napkins now totalling 1,000.🤣

            Good morning all.

Its very frosty here as well Nan2. We have heard the workers running their engines and defrosting their cars.
Daisy I'm glad you survived your busy day, I know Tuesday is a long one for you.
How is the embroidery going Nana?
I hope Qwerty has better news of her older GD today.

Today we are taking my auntie out for lunch. It sounds a strange choice but we are going to Rodgers furniture store. OH and I tried their tea rooms a a few weeks ago and were very impressed. Waiter service, fab foods, good crockery and cutlery. Definitely a runner up to Bettys! It's only a couple of miles from aunties house and we can park right outside, and she has never been. We thought it a good choice for her first time back out.

Take care all who are visited by ice and snow, stay in and warm if you can!

I am sure Auntie will enjoy her outing Gemini, you are a good neice.

Hope you have a quieter day today Daisy

Qwerty I hope you have good news of your GD, their doctor was certainly on the ball.

Still very white outside, nothing shifted overnight and I am going nowhere! Took DS and Dil over 4 hours for a normally half an hour journey and Dil abandoned her car at the bottom of the hill and walked over 4 miles, hope she had some sensible shoes and warm clothes with her.

Good wintery morning everyone. We had a hard frost last night - it was -1C when I got home from dog training about 10.30, and it obviously got colder over night. I'm glad I didn't have to go out early today. In fact, I've got a nice day at home in the warmth.

Plant - what a shock, all that snow. It was the same for us when we lived in Haslemere - hills in every direction, including our road. I used to take the children's toboggan down to the shops, there was no chance of getting a car out! Hopefully it will start to thaw today for you. Your poor DIL though, walking in snow is no fun if you're not kitted out for it.

Gem - I'm sure your auntie will love her outing, and it sounds ideal. Isn't it great when you find these gems in unexpected places. Betty's had better look out! I'm glad you didn't have to drive home through snow last night. It's no fun in the dark.

Nana - well done for getting started on your embroidery. I thought the Beast from the East last year was later, but you might be right.

Nanto - glad you got all your shopping - at least you'll be ok if you get snowed in.

Oma - Sometimes dogs just get restless, don't they. Eva and Cooper on Monday were like that - in and out all the time. In the end I only let one out at a time because I think they were both going out and playing, coming back in, then one of them realising they 'needed' to go out and the pattern repeating itself. Playing is much more important to them than toileting. You've done well getting your spare room sorted so quickly. You don't hang about! Are you pleased with it.

Yesterday seemed an extra long day, and for some reason I had no energy. I looked after Cooper at their house as OH had a committee meeting at ours, and he was very good - even slept quite a lot. I only had GD2 to pick up as GD1 does an after school club and Mum picks her up to save me going out twice. I really don't like this cold weather and I think that's what drains my get up and go.

DD took over 3 hours to get home last night. As Plant says that area is very hilly and even a small amount of snow can cause havoc. Don't know if she's at office or home today though.

Anyone watching Kirstie and Phil tonight.......my village is featured! Have been trying to work out which house the couple live in. Think it's just been done up and is down our road!

OH has been for diabetic check up. Sugar levels through the roof! Nurse checked what meds he's taking and he should be taking two for diabetes. The thing is at his last check-up he was told to stop taking the original one and start a new one, which he did. Seems he should have been taking both of them. He said the nurse did sort of apologise and said perhaps she hadn't explained it clearly enough. Now I know we're getting on a bit, but you don't stop vital medication without being told to....well not if you're my OH you don't ! Otherwise, all good.

No snow here, but grey and cold and generally miserable!

                  Keep warm everyone x

Gem,i bet Auntie will love having lunch out with you.
Daisy,i hope we don't get snowed in.

WG - thanks - I'll watch it too. It's always more interesting when there's a connection. I hope your OH's sugar levels come down quickly. Thank goodness his medication has been corrected now, and I hope there are no ill effects. Hopefully your DD is working from home today.

Nanto - sorry, I wasn't wishing 10 feet of snow on you, but it's always a nice cosy feeling to know you're stocked up.

It's still cold, but lovely and sunny here now.

WG that could have been a big problem thank goodness he had his check up when he did , it will take a little while for his sugar to level off again .

Daisy a nice day in will do you good . Yes I'm happy with the room but I still haven't got the headboard the one I went for yesterday they had ordered the wrong colour so another is on order and they are delivering to house for free , be a few days yet though .

Nana good to hear you started your project keep up the good work

Went shopping to Morrisons this morning and bumped into my Brother and Uncle they go on 10 mile walk a couple times a week ( both in their 70's ) they were on way home and Brother needed milk so popped in . Was lovely to see my uncle it's a couple years since I have seen him . We then went to Aldi on way home ,

Walking round and B said are you ok your white as a sheet , I was fine it was just a combination of sheer tiredness and I was so cold even though I had my hat and scarf on . Once in the house and warmed up I looked a bit pinker 😁

Hello ladies, thanks so my for my thoughtful email.
Its been a rough few weeks but I’m digging my heels in determining to let family issues get to me.
I had a bad night last night and I am battling with a migraine at the mo but I will be back soon .
Sending you all my love x

Enjoy lunch Gem, we have cancelled Jorvik Centre so no freebies for us, but because we paid extra for vip queuing etc we’ve been able to change booking for half term
Our decorating came to a halt with illness not us, couldnt face it but back on schedule maybe tomorrow
Oma and all those who sleep badly there was a good interview on Jeremy Vine this morning about people who couldn’t sleep , well worth a listen to on catch up . What’s the headboard like , we have a sledge bed so comes with it’s own headboard but would really like those big padded headboards that nearly reach to the ceiling they fasten them to the wall in hotels
