Evening All,
Just back from DD2’s. We went for Gs’s (6) Christmas Performance. It was at 2.15pm so we were able to be there for once. The school had organised ‘Travelling by Tuba’, two chaps who play an array of instruments themselves and teach the children to play too. They were only there for the day for Gs’s year but it was brilliant. All the children seemed to enjoy it and the instruments were weird and wonderful. It made a change from a Nativity play.
The outside light problem is solved to my liking thanks to B&Qs 25% off Christmas lights offer. OH wanted red balls but I thought it might look like a brothel so we now have multi coloured festival lights and very nice they are too.
Early night required due to loud snoring of OH. I had done the ironing by 7am.🙄

Qwerty - I can't get my head round Christmas shopping any earlier! When I was teaching I used to do it during the Autumn half-term because I hated the crowds on Saturdays, which was the only day I could shop - before Sunday opening, and the advent online shopping. I didn't like doing it that early, but it was literally the only chance I had, so now I can take it nice and slowly and wait until I'm in the Christmas spirit! I'm glad you're feeling a bit better, and coffee and cake in the garden centre sounds perfect.
Gem - well done to OH on winning yesterday - I seem to have missed a day somewhere. LOL I'm sure your auntie felt much better for having your company. Are you already for your GD and GS2's sleepover?
Plant - I hope GD2's present arrives safely. Sometimes it's not easy to tell when you've completed a transaction, but at least you found out now, not on Christmas Eve.
Grauntie - your GS's Christmas performance sounds a lot of fun, and I bet it's something all the children will remember. I didn't know B&Q had an offer on Christmas lights!! At least with the multi-coloured light you won't have a procession of eager strangers knocking on your door. Sleep well tonight.
I've abandoned online shopping now to get the house sorted out a bit before friends arrive for the day on Sunday. They live in France, and are coming on the overnight ferry on Saturday, so we're hoping they don't get held up by the weather or any of the random road blockades by the 'gilets jaunes' protesters.

Grauntie, I agree that multi coloured lights will look better than red
This morning DD is dropping off the children's things for their stay. She and SIL are going to Berlin for a few days to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.
We will have the children until Saturday, when we will take them to SIL's parents for the last night.
They are at nursery and afterschool club today, so I will pick them up from both after their teas.
Before that I have to do mums shopping take it to her and spend some time with her. I will move everything forward an hour or so to allow time to get out to school and nursery.
A busy few days ahead
Have a good day all!

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
Good morning, everyone. It's dreary and still dark here this morning. But at least it's not raining, so I hope the carpenter will be able to come and finish off the bathroom, then I can give it a good clean! We're out all day tomorrow and most of Saturday, so today is going to be busy!
Gem - you are going to be a busy bee, but you'll love having the children. I hope DD and SIL enjoy their anniversary treat.
Plant, I don't often dither! I had a few ideas of what to get and just got on with it. Enjoy your lunch out and I hope you find the perfect present for DIL.
Clover it's definitely too dark to do h*******k! Did you get a hot hissy thing that worked in the end? I really thought it was a clear sign that you should stop ironing all together.
Oma - I hope the hospital trip goes smoothly. I think Sunshine's cruise starts on Sunday.
Enjoy your day, ladies.

Oma so glad you’ve got a bit of a break from the hospital.
Daisy, yes I did get a new hot hissy thing. It’s a bit lighter than my old one so will take a bit of getting used to.Obviously need a bit more practice I’ m glad the end is in sight for your bathroom.
Sunshine, where are you going on your cruise? I love cruises so I’m very envious.
Good news Oma. Went to the supermarket this morning, OH came with me and pushed the trolley. I’m getting too old for, this lark, nearly killed me lugging the bags in from the car, Didn’t help that I’d bought extras this week, I really think I must do a bi weekly shop and spread it out a bit. Otherwise all ok, tree is up, present wrapped only cards to do now, I am having a relaxing afternoon, DD popping in soon so we can have a catch up and she’ll probably want to talk about what we are planning for Christmas. I enjoyed a nice glass of Merlot at lunch so am now feeling very mellow 🍷🙃
