Good morning ladies, and welcome to December!

Regarding the advent calendar, the rule is that once you have posted a picture you then let someone else have a turn . We can post more than once, but only when a few others have posted. The picture doesn't have to go on early.
Only one picture per day, but all will get their turn

Mimi the smell of the spray of un neutered tom cat is indescribable! It only take a little drop to make that terrible smell apparently.

We are going to friends tonight. A group of us for a meal and games night. This is the get together which usually happens closer to Christmas, but the couple will be in New Zealand this year.
We have newsletters to deliver for my Lib Dem friend, but as it is wet today that may wait until tomorrow. I may get some rock painting and card writing done in the dry instead.

      Have a good day everyone.

I have washed the kitchen floor twice which is annoying me because it’s going to be ripped up on Monday. I have cleaned the cat flap with an old toothbrush so that I can get into the tiny edges. I have sprayed air freshener ( the sort that is supposed to rid the smell of food, tobacco) all around the flat, I have even washed the radiators down with the concentrated floral disinfectant in the hope that with then on the warmth will generate a lovely smell but sadly it’s not made one little of difference.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

When it happened to us years ago Mimi we had to paint everything to obliterate the smell.

              Afternoon ladies .
Nanto it was 4.45 when I went up to bed this morning I was up again at 7.30 too eyes feel gritty now

Mimi try hot washing powder to neutralise the smell , we often get a Tom cat spraying our front door its after the female cats next door , it stinks so I wash it down with soap powder and it seems to work ,or you could do the tomato thing they do for skunk smells rub the area over with tomato paste or tinned tomatoes leave a few minutes then wash off

Welcome home Qwerty enjoy your lunch out ,

Gem its too wet to be delivering leaflets stay indoors till tomorrow

Been to MIL's today take a load of old winter coats and Jumpers for SIL to pick up they collecting for the homeless where she works , so more room in both our wardrobes now .

Enfys - I was so determined to get one Advent photo up one year, I sneaked it in just after midnight the previous night!! How low can you get!

Qwerty - welcome back. I look forward to reading your Journal as and when. I'm sure this afternoon will be very emotional for all of you, but sometimes it does us good to remember dear friends we've lost and allow ourselves to feel sadness. Don't be too hard on yourselves. Sending big hug. xxx

Mimi - I had no idea a tom's scenting could be so hard to get rid of! Good luck! Oma's mentioned washing powder which reminded me that biological washing powder is 'good' for doggy accidents. I hope you can get it sorted out before your new kitchen starts happening.

Oma - that are some lovely Hare pictures about - both paintings and photographs. I think they're fascinating animals.

Gem - enjoy your evening with your friends. Definitely a day to stay indoors in the warmth!

Enfys - your little china houses sounds very pretty - especially when they're lit up at night, I should think.

Off to tidy up the freezer before the dog food arrives! Lovely day for it.

Got SiL's present this morning.....a quarter of a pig! A localish farm ( was on last Sundays' Countryfile) has a Rent a Pig scheme and you can have a full pig or a half or a quarter. The farm raises it and slaughters it and you can go and visit and feed it etc. Just the sort of thing my SiL will love. We met the sow and she was adorable, well as adorable as pigs can be! Came and had a chat and didn't seem best pleased that we hadn't brought her anything to eat! The owner was telling us that she (the sow) is a sun lover and the sun had bleached the her coat so she was a completely different colour to her piglets! Hope he doesn't turn vegetarian before Christmas!

Been a bit of a miserable day here so haven't done very much else. Chinese takeaway tonight so no cooking either!
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Our Parish Church was filled today with Christmas trees decorated by different organisations in the village. You can vote for the one you like best but how can you judge an entry from one of the playgroups against our WI entry. We did win last year and think we have a good chance of winning this year. We had very little time so we were given two silver baubles and asked to decorate them however we liked. I must say it looked very good. Refreshments were served in the Parish rooms ad a couple of craft stalls were there. I found a lovely silk scarf for Sil's mother and bought myself a bracelet, I then called at a garden centre and Christmas has certainly started there, masses of trees and decorations. The family are out and don't expect to see them until late so the cat has moved in with me.

Welcome back Qwerty, look forward to reading your journal.

Oh WG, if anyone bought me a pig it wouldn't end up on the table, I would want to keep it!
Plant, DD2's village does a similar Christmas tree competition, we have been to it several years.
I have made a start of Christmas card writing. I was happy to find that we have a lot of Christmas stamps! I can only assume OH and I both bought some last year, so we had too many

Good morning ladies. I slept till 6,so can't complain.

It's dry this morning and feels quite mild.

Good morning, Nanto and everyone who follows. What a lovely cheery graphic, Nanto. Glad to hear you slept better. Did you get all your shopping done yesterday?

It's mild here, too, but very wet underfoot. We've got to go down to the allotment this morning - OH was in our ironmongers yesterday and the shopkeeper who has the plot next door says the cover's blown off our polytunnel! We were going to replace it with netting next season, but were hoping to keep the ground a bit drier through the winter. Then we'll take Eva for a run in the paddock. Hopefully that won't be too wet - it's on higher ground and they have much less trouble with boggy ground up there.

WeeGranny - what a novel idea for a present, although I don't think I'd want to make him/her a friend and then serve him up for Sunday lunch. When my BIL kept sheep we used to buy a whole lamb, but we never saw it and it arrived ready for packing into our freezer.

Plant - I'm torn. It would be nice to see your WI win again, but I can't help thinking how delighted the playgroup children would be if heir tree won.

Qwerty - how are you after meeting with your friends yesterday? xx
