What is going on? What with Gem’s thumb and Oma’s ankle. Behave yourselves! Seriously, I hope you both mend quickly. Nana, the bag theft must have been so annoying to say the least. What a good job your purse wasn’t in it. Buy another, then we can sing ‘Nana’s got a brand new bag’ to you. (James Brown, from the 60s, remember?)
A day full of nothing planned here. Not feeling quite the ticket so I shall sit here and fester for a bit longer. No doubt I’ll rally later.

Managed a few hours sleep but I took a load of pain killers yesterday so maybe that helped , getting up and down stairs is a struggle and last night ankle was very swollen but not so bad this morning although its throbbing a lot .
Took me a while to get things done this morning Hoovering was a tricky one I sort of hopped around

Dog asleep as usual and everything done so a lazy day with foot up for me .

Grauntie I hope rest sorts you out and you don't get poorly.

I don't think we are having the GC today now. DD phoned to say there was an accident and they were being diverted, it was more complicated as she had to double back to get to the village to drop GD at school. GS would be late but coming. Ten minutes later another call to say GS had been sick He sounded upset but DD couldn't get to him as was still stuck in the traffic. I will talk to her later and see if she wants me to collect GD from school anyway.

Nanto - I'm like that most mornings - where does the time go! I hope your in laws are ok.

Gem - I'm sure you will have a lovely day with GS2 and GD after school. It must feel like ages since you've seen them. Is GD pleased to be back at school? Be careful with your poorly thumb.

Oma - I'm glad you managed to get some sleep, but what on earth were you doing hoovering!!! Honestly girl, I think I need to come over and sort you out!!! I'm sure you will want to do it anyway when Storm has gone home! I did smile at the mental picture of you doing a sort of hop, skip and hop dance with the hoover. (I'v posted on A New Member of the Family about Eva's training.)

Grauntie - it's the time of year to sit and fester, love. Seriously, I hope you're ok.

It's less cold here today, so we're going to take Eva for a run and then I'll see how I feel about the various chores demanding attention. I might just ignore them all and have a quiet day!


EDIT - Gem our posts crossed. Poor GS, I hope he's ok. What a frustrating start to your DD's day as well. I hope the accident wasn't serious and everyone is ok.

Bright today, haven't been out yet. GD1 back from Slovakia, we are going food shopping later. I really need to go to JLtoo, I bought a lovely coat in there a week ago but have decided it is too big on the shoulders and the arms. Shame, I like it very much, they didn't have another on the rail, perhaps they will today.

Oma and Gemini, I hope your injuries are getting better and no hoovering Oma.

Clover you must have been a bit anxious leaving G but he was okay, perhaps you could try it again some time.

WeeGranny, It is never easy to judge how many will go on to the wake, I am sure they were grateful for a hot drink or a glass of wine.

GS2 is fine. DD has surrounded him in towels and is keeping an eye on him. I had a video call with them and he is bouncing around! She wants to keep him at home today just in case anyway.
I will still collect GD from school and bring her here for tea, as she was looking forward to it, and it means DD won't have to disturb GS's nap to go for her.
GS was crying on the phone in the car because he couldn't come to Grandma's apparently not because he had been sick!

I hope you find another coat you like Plant.

Gem - poor GS2, how disappointing to be sick and then find you're not going to Grandma's because of it. Sometimes life doesn't seem fair for a little chap! I'm sure GD will love having one-to-one with Grandma though.

Plant - if they haven't got the coat in a different size can they get it for you from another branch?

We've just got back from walking Eva, well letting her race round the paddock, while we walked sedately! It felt quite mild here but there was a cutting wind in the next village - it's the highest point around and always seems windy!

Off to get some lunch now - I think a quickly made soup and fresh home-made bread will do nicely!



Oma - are you resting that ankle? We've all got our beady eyes on you.

Was going to have GD today but her mummy decided to tell me she'd changed her plans this morning. I'm sure my D's think we sit around all day waiting for their call. Bit annoyed really because we re-organised today so now Monday is chocker. Moan over.

Trying to get our rooms back to how they were. Just a couple of Christmas 'stragglers' to go in the loft. OH nipped to golfing range. It will do him good.

Got to JL to return the coat and found I didn't have the receipt which is a real nuisance as it means GD has to come with me again as it has her discount off the price. I did look on line and they didn't have it there and it was the only one on the rail. We went into Waitrose to do my food shop where GD1 and her new boyfriend work and the staff she knew had seen their posting on FB so knew they were away together. Boyfriend was working and came over to say hello.

That is a nuisance for you Nana

Evening all, hope this finds you well, Dd called today as she had been to the dentist and it’s her day off, pulled up on the drive in her posh car and I wasn't a bit jealous 🤢 heated steering wheel and seats good heavens whatever next !!!
Did our food shop much more healthy choices this week and seemed cheaper too
We have the twins for a sleepover tomorrow not sure I will get on here, they are coming mid morning so mummy can buy a new outfit for her birthday meal there are now 10 I think going, and tomorrow I am cooking a birthday lunch for her actual birthday, so she is opening her cards and presents at our house . Cooking a roast and the kids and I are making a chocolate cake for mummy’s birthday should be fun 😱
Grauntie sorry to see your a little off colour sometimes we just need to relax and fester as some would say
Oma my coat is quite a loud check of orange, yellow mostly, Plant I trailed all over for a coat M&S, Next, usual places before looking in Debenhams in the sale 👍🏻
Nana I’m saying nothing about the changed arrangements apart from I get it and know what you feel about it
Daisy sometimes chatting and laughing can tire you out 😴
Gem bope little one is ok, our two cried when mum picked them up they didn’t want to go home , they got their coats and shoes on and as mum was chatting about something they began saying mum when are we going home ,children can be so fickle lol

Usual sort of day for me today. Work this morning including brass cleaning. Unfortunately the lady I clean for had a fall in the week and is badly bruised.She is in her eighties so was lucky not to break anything.

Qwerty - I love that coat and I can just see you in it. It sounds as though DD's birthday is going to be a busy one for you. I often think Mums should have a rest on their children's birthdays - after all we did the hardest work we'll ever do on that day when they were born!!!

Clover - I hope your lady is ok - she was lucky to escape with bruises.

Nana - I know how you feel! Good for your OH to get out on the golf range.

Plant - there was no real chance of your GD1 and her boyfriend keeping things secret! I hope they don't get too much teasing.

Gem - I bet GD will be getting excited about Florida now she's seen the villa.
