Very dark and dismal morning, not much cleaning to do and just a bit of washing so I might do a bit of dressmaking, well, top making really. I bought a pattern and material for a top. No buttons, no zip, just my kind of dressmaking. Just have to decide what style of neckline I want. Bowls this afternoon and a visit to a Guide Unit this evening for some entertainment. Saw quite a lot of baby E over the weekend, he is off his food, we think his molars are coming through and only seems to want soft food. He is stringing words together now and very entertaining, his father is thrilled that he can recognise a mini in a car park.
Nana, I hope the tooth can be saved and that it isn't too expensive.Sounds like a lovely walk, did you get some lunch?
Daisy, not a nice day to have to be getting up early and rush around.
Pizza, well it is only like a sandwich really a very expensive one too. I love sushi but not to every ones taste

Morning ladies ,

Gem looks like there is lots to see and do , make the most of it , hear is almost a week over already xx
Nana good luck at Dentist
Plant hes a little Darling isn't he and so clever
Daisy hope Cooper is a good boy today , Storm is fast asleep as usual hes so lazy
Headache this morning doesn't help its dull and dark outside makes you feel yuk doesn't it ,
I see on News Harry & Megan having a baby , at least they waited till Euginie's wedding was over so didn't steal their thunder
Plant - reading your thoughts about the top you're making makes me wish I could sew. You have much more choice of fabric and style, plus getting a good fit. Poor Baby E - teething is horrible, isn't it. I hope they come through quickly for him. He's a clever boy, identifying cars already.
Oma - I hope there may come a day when Cooper gets to be as lazy as Storm! He just keeps going, even though I can see he's tired! I woke up with a headache too - how's yours now?
It's just said on the news that the Royal Family were told about the baby on Friday - after the wedding. It's Meghan's mmother's first grandchild. I wonder if she'd like to join us here on GRU?

I hope you all have a good Monday. I will update my Canada thread later, and photos will be once I am home.
DD and SIL both working today, so we shall be venturing out in the car on our own!

Plant - I'm sure choosing the right fabric is important, but the sewer's skill - or lack of - plays a part. I bet if we both had the same fabric, the same pattern, the same sewing machine etc, we'd see the difference.
Oma - my headache's still niggling too. I don't often get headaches, so I blame the weather!

Oma and Daisy how is your head now , better I hope.
Plant I can barely sew , I hated sewing lessons at school but years on I did make a peg bag out of a pair old flora curtains and when I come to think about it many years ago I did make some pillow cases
out of old baby cot sheets that were no longer needed . Basically if its sewing that is straight up and down I'm your woman but doing proper sewing , following a pattern to make real clothes than I would have to pass . Nowadays it takes me ages just to thread a needle. !
Pattern is out of the packet, not done anything with it yet as I wanted to wash the material first. Mimi buy yourself a needle threader, they are great.

Many moons ago I used to make mine and DD clothes , I also made curtains , Duvet covers and pillow cases , and had quite a good little business making Rag dolls complete with little straw hats , now the most I do is alter trouser legs and general repairs, few and far between I'm afraid , not having room to keep my sewing machine out now means it's a faff on I can't be bothered with anymore sadly
Friends visited earlier and brought us a card.
Then, sisterin law and her hubby visited.Brought us a card, and a beautiful gold coloured vase.
We said we weren't opening any presents, until we came back. But,there was no mistaking it was a vase.
Drizzly here,and quite cool.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Grand news about the new royal baby I didn’t think it would be long 😀
Nana hope the holiday has gone well we all need a break now and again
I’ve done very little today apart from 3 loads of washing, Dd is coming for a sleepover on Friday yes you heard right, she is out with old school mates round the village , so changed bedding in spare room even though I only slept there one since fresh sheets when the cherubs stayed .They all live local except for her so rather than get a taxi she is crashing out here 😱 and her OH is babysitting his Dd will seem a bit strange but he has the time now
Something on my mind too , natters me and feel a moan coming on ☹️
