That must have been a shock Oma, hopefully no one was hurt.
I hope all your poorly family are better soon Qwerty.
I hope the floor fitting has gone smoothly Daisy,
We both had cuddles with the seven week old baby, especially meHe was very good, but Mum and Granny insist he isn't usually! I don't believe a word of it. They have left now.
This morning we got our wills signed and had a coffee and toasted teacake on the way back.
This afternoon as well as our visitors, we also have the electrician (still here) doing a few jobs for us. Also a friend dropping off pork and chicken and she is veggie and her OH has turned vegan, and they had just bought lots of meat. We are happy to take it off their hands!
She then went away and returned with her OH and hedgehog supplies (more on another thread)

Oma,sounds like you all had a lovely day.
Qwerty, hope the family is better soon.
I'm sat here like nervous wreck.I've just been watching Gogglebox.
They were watching a film called What lies Beneath, starring Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer.
They only show extracts of the film, but some parts certainly make you jump. Don't think i'll be watching if it's on tv again.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Qwerty - your poor family! I hope you and OH don't catch any of the lurgies. OH has done so well with quitting smoking - I suppose he's bound to have an occasional wobble.
Mimi - step away from the hair dye! Silver is the 'in' colour (so I'm told!) and if you want colour apparently you go for coloured sections in pale shades like lilac, pink, baby blue etc. I have been very tempted but my poor OH looked horrified when I mentioned it.
Gem, you've had a busy day, and good to get the will sorted out.
Oma - am I right in thinking today's celebrations are a trial run for his second birthday at the end of the month? If anyone deserves two birthdays it's your B.
Nanto - I've never seen Gogglebox!
Crikey, Avo - you've been busy today! Did your Christmas cake smell delicious? Plus the loaf! I bet her ladyship was curled up snoozing after her pamper session. I love our wood burning stove - it's so cosy and sends a lovely comfortable heat right through the house.
Our bedroom floor looks lovely - I'm really pleased with it. The fitter has got to come back tomorrow to refit the skirting boards, but he's made a lovely job of the fitting. Then on Wednesday the plumber's coming to refit the toilet in our main bathroom - and repair a leak in the radiator. It seems as fast as we fix one problem another crops up at the moment! I'm in need of an early night tonight! GS1 from school today. He wants to come back here, which suits me. I intend to make mum's Christmas cake today, and put it in the oven when GS and I get in.

I have just bought my GD1 a head camera for when she goes riding. eldest GS knee pads for mountain bike riding, GS2 needed a wallet. the youngest GS wanted a valet set for cleaning all the parts of his bikes. GS at Uni. asked for a beard trimming set. Not much there to give you any ideas. Perhaps give him the money. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Good morning one and all. No frost here, but plenty of fog earlier on so it was a miserable drive over to DS2’s. It still misty but at least it’s light now.
I’m looking forward to getting the bedroom back together. The floor should be finished today, but I won’t have time to do it until tomorrow afternoon, and hopefully the bathroom will have a functioning loo by then as well. We won’t know ourselves. Then we’ve got just over.a week before the hall, stairs and landing painted. Then we can start thinking about Christmas. 😁
Oma, good to hear your SIL has settled into her new home. Oh dear, is GS2 sure he doesn’t want a Nintendo Switch. It wasn’t just an off the cuff remark? Both my GSs at that age loved getting Amazon vouchers so they could buy what the wanted (with supervision to make sure they didn’t buy unsuitable games etc.). It never feels like a proper present but if it’s what they want. ...
Plant it sounds as though your presents are just what your GCs want. 😀"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Back from SIL's she has her new flat beautiful although she has always had excellent taste , she's also very happy , she should have done this years ago but as she said it wasn't the right time ,
My Brother bought her a fridge freezer and her cooker but she refused anything else as it was her decision to move out but we tried telling her that didn't make any difference she was married for 52 years to my brother she was still entitled to stuff .
Between her and their 6 children helping she has everything she needs now , so good to see her happy that's what mattersIm not fat just 6ft too small

That is good OmaIt was the right move for both of them.
We have friends who were a couple for over 20 years. We could tell they weren't happy for several years. They had a house, a dog, an apartment in Spain etc, it was easier to stay together.
Once they made the spilt we their friends were sad.
However, a couple of years down the line both are happier than I have ever seen them.
One is very happily with someone new, (who I am now good friends with, part of my 'theatre going group' )
The other is happily single and not looking for a new partner. She has taken up art, and is selling paintings and jewellery, her music career has blossomed. She seems to have really found herself.
Sometimes to part is the best for both!
GS is off school with a sore throat. DD wants me to bring him over here this afternoon do she can get some work done, so I will go over for him soon.
Mum's Christmdas cake is in the tin. It will go into the oven as soon as I get back.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Oma, what a positive move this was for your brother and his wife.
Gem, poor GS1. There seem to be a lot of bugs about. I’m sure he didn’t want to miss school with so much going on at this time of the year. I hope he’s soon better.
Its a a really miserable day here, raining, chilly, dark. Even Cooper is fed up, so would I be if I had to use outdoor plumbing. It’s quite funny though watching him trying to select a less wet spot in the garden - to “water” it!! 🤨"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
