Good for GD having a PJ day Enfys.
    No frost here either Nan2.
It's harder to getting going on these colder darker days Plant. I admire you getting up and going to aqua at this time of year .

All Christmas decorations are up in the loft, including the new heavy Christmas tree. Phew!!
Off to do the shopping soon then to mum's for the afternoon. I will probably take auntie's shopping round to her on Saturday.

        Afternoon ladies ,
B's day for Hospital this morning but I wasn't able to go ,
He had to go himself then when he came home take me to the Drop in centre .

Woke during night to a really bad pain in the inside of my ankle like I was being stabbed this went on all night and morning , couldn't stand or walk and getting up and down the stairs was very painful ,
Tried hot and cold compress and pain killers but the pain was getting worse

Spent 2 hours in drop in and it turns out I have stretched and torn a Tendon in the side of my foot ,( while asleep ) said most likely how I have been lying
Not much they can do but strapped it up and pain killers ,

I have to rest for a couple of days and go careful on it .
I did take the strapping off when I got home and reapply as it was very tight and my toes were tingling but it is helping with the pain

We looked a right sight him on crutches and me hopping out with my shoe in my hand

Oma I hope the ankle gets better quickly. You must have been practising your contortionist moves in your sleep

I managed a trip into town on my own this morning. OH usually wants to come with me but I said I really wanted to nip round on my own and look at the Sales. I’m not too happy leaving him on his own but I left a note telling him where I was and when I would be back but I was still happy to get back and find him safe and sound.

Hope you’re all having a good day.I must get the recycling ready now for tomorrow.

Clover, pleased to hear you were able to have a little shopping trip on your own and that G was ok at home. Oma, sounds very painful, take it easy.

Just back from seeing DGD. She is very brown and looks so well, still feeling jet lagged but so lovely to see her again. We had lots to talk about and have made a few plans for meals out etc whilst she is home.

I have had a grand sort out and now have loads of th8ngsmto take to the charity shop tomorrow. Will be glad to,get it out of the way.

Sounds painful Oma......make sure you DO rest !!!

Well that was a funeral and a half yesterday! The widow reckoned there'd be about 100 there so that's what we catered for. But there was almost twice that number! We ran out of sandwiches, but luckily we'd kept biscuits and cheese in reserve and there was plenty of cake and biscuits. The wine seemed to be particularly appreciated.....I did manage to grab a glass before that all disappeared. It was hard work and I did sleep well last night! I think people ate more because it was almost lunchtime when the service finished.Next 'do' is the Burns' Supper in a couple of weeks, but as that's ticket only we know exactly how many we have to cater for!

Enfys I bet your GD will have lots of tales to tell you about her adventures, but I bet she'll be feeling the cold! Does she have any plans for the foreseeable future ?

Clover, pleased your shopping trip was a success and G managed without you.

Managed to get the upstairs 'done' today......certainly looks a lot cleaner and tidier than it did earlier! Still a pile of i****** to get through.....how do two people create so much?

Hope everyone has a good evening x

Oma sorry to hear about the pain you have been in hope it’s sorted soon but I have told you before , the jumping off the wardrobe is a bit much these days for you 🤦‍♀️
Clover it must be nice to get out on your own and to find G was fine when you got back hope the shopping was successful
Nana how awful to have your bag stolen , I once left a next voucher in the loo at Asda within minutes I remembered but it was gone when I got back, some people have no conscience

Daisy hope it was a good lunch with plenty to chat about, and yes I had a lovely walk up to school couldn’t believe my luck they were 3rd out !!!! Chatted about school all the way back to the car lol
I take my hat off to you Plant you have much more get up and go than me 🤽‍♀️
Gem good to hear your auntie made it to the shop on her own makes her feel more independent , hope mum was ok too

Plant - did you make it to Aqua this morning (you posted while I was typing) ?

Enfys - I bet your GD got the biggest hug ever when you saw her! You'll have so much to catch up on together. That last week or so waiting for her to come home must have seemed endless.

Gem - well, you've really packed Christmas away now for this year. I hesitate to ask - does the house feel neat and tidy! xx

Oma - poor you! Qwerty's a bit naughty suggesting you were jumping off the wardrobe, but you must at least have been having an interesting dream is you did it in your sleep. I hope B got on ok at the hospital.

Clover - I hope you enjoyed your solo trip into town today, although I bet you were worrying about G being on his own.

WeeGranny - funerals must be one of the hardest things to cater for, and I expect people were both ready for lunch and feeling the cold. Well done for coping so cannily.

Qwerty - how nice to have a successful shopping trip like that.

I had a lovely lunch out. There were just 5 of us today, but the sun was shining as we sat by the window, overlooking the fabulous view across the golf course and the Solent to the Isle of Wight. If it wasn't for hardy golfers wrapped up like Eskimos, you'd have thought it was summer! We had a good laugh and put the world to rights as usual. I called into the garden centre on the way home for some bird seed and actually found a birthday card for GS2, who will be 14 on Monday. I despair of finding cards for teenage boys - it's so difficult unless they are into sport. I was really tired by the time I got home, and I'm sure it must be the cold! I hate it! But I had a Nana nap and felt a bit better afterwards.

Plant all that was in my bag was a new pair of gloves & an x-ray form from my dr. Lucky I'd been to the PO the night before otherwise there would have been two parcels in there too.

Oma I hope that your poor ankle swelling goes down soon. I am surprised that you slept long enough for it to happen with your sleeping record. Nicely hoovered, parallel lined carpet, by the way. (Standing joke😂😂😂).

Yesterday afternoon I slept a lot. Today I slept til almost midday. Best thing for me when I'm running on empty.

                                Good morning everyone,

Nan2 I hope you find your in laws well,
Oma, how is the ankle today?

Back to Friday routine for me. GS2 for the day and GD from school. I have seen neither of them since Boxing Day! Lots of photos on our WhatsApp family group, but I haven't seen any of DD2's family in person, as they went away for a week just after Christmas.

                                Have a good day everyone.
