Lovely deep pockets in your coat Qwerty. Like the style around the neck too. Plant & Qwerty I knew you'd understand my comment re my DD changing the plans for today. It is annoying.

(As promised I've posted a pic of the carved skull I made on another thread).

Love the coat Qwerty, it is a nice length. I like Debenhams, wish we had one near here. Our House of Fraser, in the town is having a struggle. Not sure what the day may bring.

            Good morning from me.

We had a little rain overnight - but hopefully it will dry up quickly.

            Have a good Saturday everyone.

Nanto - I'm sure your GD will be delighted to see you.

We've got a friend calling round for coffee in a few minutes and I need to dry my hair first, so I'll be back later.

Like the coat Qwerty- I too like Debenhams, but I tend to shop on-line as we live in the middle of no-where then just send things back if they are no good. The shop we have in the Village is also a post office so it’s easy to send back. I made my marmalade yesterday afternoon. This morning I’ve done the ironing and am now sitting with a cuppa. Out to eat at a pub with friends tonight and tomorrow cooking for all the family. Got a nice leg of lamb to roast and a
Waitrose nut Wellington for the veggie, it’s what I gave her at Christmas there were two in the packet, cook from frozen and only takes 30 minutes !

Yesterday morning was spent at the eye clinic, for my annual check. They somehow forgot me after sitting for 1.5 hours without being called for eye drops or photos and overhearing a women whose appointment time was after mine, and watch her seen and go home, I went to the reception and asked if I had been forgotten. Oh no said the girl but I’ll check with the nurse. Suddenly I’m called 😏. The clinic was showing a one hour delay so I’d been hesitant to fuss.... then the doctor ordered some special photos which I had last year for comparison so I had to go off again, I’ve made sure she notes to order them next year. Whole appointment took 3.5 hours 😩 grrrr. Just a minor deterioration compared to last time so at least some good news .

Ouch it does sound painful Oma. Rest up lady.

Making a wedding embroidery for my DD later on. She was the chief bridesmaid & wanted to give her friend something more personal. Weather dull & dismal which doesn't exactly lift your mood.

Been dull and dark today, till 3o'clock,then the sun came out for ½ an hour.

Grandaughters face lit up when we walked into the cafe.
We couldn't talk to her much, she was a busy little bee.
But was lovely to see at her work, and she has fitted in a treat.

Aww, how lovely to see your GD at work Nan2.
Qwerty, an hours screen time is a good idea for a grandma having a sleepover!
Auntie and mum both fine. That is my older generation visiting over for a few days

GS seems fine Oma, heaven knows what that was about yesterday!

Avo - I used to love Debenhams, but our nearest one seems to have more 'other' shops than their own offerings just lately. The store itself used to be immaculate, but not any more. Sad to see. How frustrating waiting so long for your appointment, but you must be relieved that there is very little change in your vision.

Nana - the wedding embroidery sounds interesting. Is it your design or a commercial one?

Nanto - doesn't it make you feel proud when you see your GCs doing well in a grown-up situation. I bet it made her day.

Qwerty - it doesn't take much to confuse my fingers on the keyboard. I was going to comment on your DD's visit to the dentist but didn't for some reason! I hope your DIL enjoys her birthday. An hour screen time sounds fair to me.

                            Grauntie - how are you?

Gem - does this mean you've got a few days to relax?

Tomorrow we're going up to DS1's for GS2's birthday celebration. He'll be 14, and it doesn't seem 5 minutes since he was a cute little button with a lift-off smile. He's still lovely - quite quiet but with a very sweet and thoughtful nature and a wicked sense of humour.

Daisy this time I'm taking the bride's favourite colour foto & turning it greyscale. She put her flowers on her new husband's parents' grave the day after the wedding. I'm transfering the image onto textile then embroidering the boquet in coloured thread. Might also do this to his button hole flower too.

I got the idea from Pinterest....a wealth of ideas on there. I've yet to think about how I'll do it but I'll also include their names & the date when they got married. I might use rubber stamp letters, typewriter font. Wish me luck. After that it's the new baby embroidery & after that a quilt incorporating my GD's early baby clothes. Now that will be a challenge. Can't believe she's 2 going on 6 in February❣

(I'm not sure if this should be in art/craft thread.)

Love the sound of what you are going to do with the embroidery.
Hope to see a photo of it when you are finished.

                                Daisy,enjoy the birthday celebrations.
Nothing planned for today for us,except another pile of ironing again.
