      Good Afternoon Each!
Yes, I survived. I didn’t have to walk home ‘legless’ or be a ‘lowdown bum’. 😆 We didn’t win though, so we will not be performing in front of royalty. 🙄 The winning act was an author reading from her latest novel with her husband translating it into his version of sign language. I can’t remember ever laughing so much! We also had a solo ventriloquist (?) and a very funny version of ‘There’s a hole in my bucket’. Our hosts were dressed as Ant and Dec and I sat next to Amanda Holden who had a definite likeness to my pal David. It was great fun.
Qwerty, just a thought. When I had continuous chest infections for a year which nothing would shift I ended up seeing a specialist who said the reason was I was not being given strong enough ABs for long enough, and so the infection would subside for a week or two but then came back. He gave me ABs of industrial strength for 2 weeks which did the trick. Might be worth a mention if you see the doctor.
I am being forced to go out for a walk.
      Will catch up later.

          ,Good to see you Aggie.

That sounds a good night Grauntie. I remember when you seemed to be constantly I'll with chest infections.

Oma I didn't drink too much, I am always the one telling others not to 😁 Mulled wine to start, water all night, then one gin and ginger, and a mouthful of fizz at midnight. Clear head 😊

We went for a walk by the river in the sunshine today. There were lots of people about.
Tonight A and J are coming round. They will be leaving York again soon, so it's good to catch up when we can. DD3 is envious that I can see her best friend and she can't!

Watched the fireworks from my bedroom window. We don't stay up now. OH made us a roast dinner today & DD2 called in with her two. Might need to go over for a few sleepovers to DD1 tomoro as she thinks she might have flu. Rotten being ill with children & you're on your own. Can't say I'm looking forward to sleeping on the sofa tho. 1st kindness of 2019❣

Good to see you posting Oma, but take it steady. Nice to see you too Aggie. Qwerty I hope your spirits are lifted soon. New Year can be a funny time....reflection etc. Grauntie did Amanda H have a hairy chest by any chance? Sounds like an entertaining night. Enfys some good advice from Oma.

            Wishing everyone a Happy & Healthy 2019❣

I don’t know about the chest Nana but he was wearing high heels, a gold outfit and a fetching blonde wig!

Sounds like great fun Grauntie, pleased you are in one piece. We are not a family to let our hair down but I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall.

GGS is just like a parrot, whatever you say he copies it and I was thrilled to hear him call me GtGranma today.

I really don't think I can go to any doctor about the atrial fibrulation and I don't think he can do much as I am already under a heart specialist and on a drug to control it and so far it has. I also have a device in my chest from which they take a reading from from time to time and this goes in my file. I just want to ask his advice as to whether he knows what might have sparked it off. As you know I do like a glass of wine and my brandy and so far this hasn't been a problem but perhaps over the Christmas holiday I have overindulged, it has never had any effect before. It seems to be set off by indigestion. I really need some exercise, I think that would set it right.

Grauntie - I've never been so pleased to hear someone is not in three pieces!! It sounds a riotous evening.

Plant - next week everything will be back to normal for you. It has seemed like a long break this year with Christmas Day falling when it did.

Nana - Poor DD, and poor you if you have to sleep on the sofa. I'm sure you don't get much sleep, but no doubt the GCs enjoy having you there.

Gem - I think you're right - sometimes you need massive doses of antibiotics to knock out a persistent bug like that.

Nanto - life sounds peacefully back to normal in the Nanto household. I'm getting there but more slowly!

Grauntie the mind boggles. I hope we get one foto of the evening at least. Plant I'm so sorry to hear that you are off colour & have to wait so long to see the Dr. Is it concerning enough to go to A&E or a drop in clinic if you have one? Personally I would fone your consultant's secretary. Your little GGS sounds a clever little boy. It's always a thrill to hear them say your name for the first time.

Daisy, yes things are back to normal in this household.

Onwards and upwards, i seem yo have quite a few jobs to do today.

                        Good morning!

                        Lovely cheerful graphic Nan2
Nana , I love your new avatar.
Plant, it must be lovely to hear little GGS call you great grandma.
All under the weather members, and their families, get better soon.

Today I am meeting DD1 and GS1 for lunch. We are then going to the Gaming Cafe in town. This is GS1's favourite place atm, and he has been longing for me to go with them for ages. Even once asking me if I had a SatNav, and if so maybe I could put Gaming Cafe in it and find my way there

                        Happy Wednesday everyone.

Good morning everyone. Nanto your cheerful graphic has put a smile on my face, and I also like Nana's new avatar. I earmarked a new one for myself when I did the reindeer one, and now I can't find it!!

Today I'm torn between doing nothing, getting the decorations down and packed away and sorting out my wardrobe which is really bugging me. I think the decorations will win!

Have a good day everyone - and Gem enjoy your Gaming - I'm sure your GS1 will give you expert tuition.

Heart all quiet thank goodness. I will keep the doctors appt. for a bit in case it goes again. Nana, bless you, it isn't a serious condition but I have to take warfarin to make sure the blood doesn't clot. some people have it constantly. I would have to be referred back to the consultant by my doctor. My decorations are all packed away, I said goodbye to my fairy (my mother gave it to me over 50 years ago). Problem is that the dust has settled and I need to flick that duster around.

I love all the new avatars, where do you find them?

Gaming Cafe sounds like a gambling den Gemini.

I hope all the poorly ones are getting stronger by the day.

Plant - pleased to hear you're feeling better. How sad to see your Fairy go! Take it easy with that duster.

I use my own photos for my avatar, but I think some members get them from Glitter Graphics - not sure, to be honest. Gem - I love your new one - very appropriate.

When the GCs talk about gaming I always think of a smoke-filled casino with people gathered round a high stakes roulette wheel.
