Yesterday Oma, when driving home with GS1, I saw the first Christmas tree of the season in a private home. I have seen lots in shops hotels and restaurants, but this was the first in someones living room!

Oma and Nanto, I am sorry you lost sleep over the man on the escalator. I woke about 5, unusual for me and my mind kept going through the accident. Apart from a lady some way ahead of him there wasn't anyone else on the escalator, very strange as the store was very busy. I didn't see him start to fall, just the noise of him tumbling down, I thought it was something crashing, a display or something similar so I looked over the balcony to see him tumbling over and over.Thinking back, he was awake when the assistants ran to him, I wish there was a way of finding out if he was okay.

Miserable morning morning here, off to have lunch at a local restaurant with my WI friends but apart from that nothing planned. GGS will be here soon, it is DD day to look after him

Hope Qwerty has some decent weather and the hotel is okay.

I am sure your auntie will be pleased to see you Gemini. Good luck with the old settee taking it apart. You will be relining on your new one

            Good afternoon everyone.

Nanto - that pretty umbrella in your graphic wouldn't last two seconds today. It's not only pouring down it's blowing a gale, too. Well done on getting a good night's sleep.

Plant - I do hope that poor man is ok. What an awful thing to happen. You could ring the store and explain you were there on the scene and were worried about him. Enjoy your lunch out.

Qwerty - poor you. I bet picking the twins up was no joke yesterday. I was very lucky - DIL2 went to pick them up from school and brought them back to their house for me. They were soaked, and GD2 was crying. She just stood in the living room sobbing 'I'm wet, I'm wet". She comes home tired anyway, and getting soaked - they have to wait for 15 mins for GD1 - was the last straw for her, poor love. Their mum had to go and get dry clothes to go back to work in. Well, at least M knows she will be getting some presents this Christmas. Enjoy your little holiday, even if the weather is unkind - a good excuse to sit by a roaring fire with a drink, or two.

Gem - have fun dismantling your old sofa. I hope your aunty's feeling a bit better. How is your poorly GS?

I went to Lymington to collect a new pair of glasses this morning. Just on the outskirts there's a low bridge but it's the main route into the town from the north and lorries are forever getting stuck under it! Today's casualty had managed to stop just short of the bridge, having navigated a mini roundabout. It was chaos! So we all sat and waited while he did a 200-point turn in a very narrow road! Just made my appointment in time. I was going to do a bit of shopping, but the wind was howling and the rain was going horizontal, so I came home!

Our bathroom is turning into a bit of a saga, so I'll put it on my New Flooring thread.

On the way into Cambridge there's a house with a huge blow-up Santa and Snowman on the front and each window is decorated as well as lights all round the garden. It all looks a bit tacky to be honest! There's also a house near my art class with tree and lights. Don't think I'm doing anything this year as we're away and DD has just invited us to hers for our Christmas part 2 when we get back. So I think the tree and decs will stay where they are this year.

It's been such a miserable day here that I haven't done much at all. Got some paper shredding done, ordered food to take to DS's, tidied round the kitchen and that's about it. Sometimes it's nice just to have a lazy day though I really don't like staying indoors all day. Would go stir crazy if it happened too often.

Daisy, there was the same problem in Ely with lorries getting stuck under the low bridge. The level crossing on top took forever to open and traffic would wait for ages, so some drivers took a chance...not always successfully, and caused more hold-ups. However, they've now built a fantastic by-pass and the underpass is being restricted to pedestrians and cyclists. Be interesting to see if it works.

Did anyone watch Mrs Wilson last night? Looks like it might be a good series.

Enjoy your evening ladies whatever you're up to! Hope Qwerty's hotel is OK.

Good evening. It’s been a horrid day here, pouring with rain all day and blowing a gale. I was nearly blown off my feet when I went to the supermarket this morning.

Out this evening to a Christmas Fair locally with DD, haven’t been out in the evening for ages. Hospital appointment for DH tomorrow, hope the weathers better. Hope Qwerty had a good journey and the hotel is all ok.

I didn't watch that WG, I may look on catch up.
A Christmas Fair is a nice reason to go out Enfys.

Auntie seemed a lot brighter than on Sunday, However no walker has arrived and she is out of prescription painkillers, which are supposed to be delivered to her
Her hair needs washing and she stays in her nightie and dressing gown as it is hard work getting dressed. I think we persuaded her to accept some help from carers as least temporarily, with dressing and showering. Someone is ringing her about it tomorrow
We took her some shopping, had a coffee with her, and put her bin out. We will go again soon.

When we got back I had a long catch up chat with DD in Canada.

Phew, what a day, I’ve only just had time to pop on here. Can’t say I seem to have done much,in fact it’s taken me all day to do very little
I have managed to clean the kitchen blinds. I hate that job but as they have to come down ready for the new kitchen I thought I’d get on with it.

Hwo was the Christmas Fair Enfys. I will be thinking of you and P tomorrow.

Plant how is the man who had the accident?

                              Evening All.
We took our friends back to Stansted today. We had a jolly time and we will miss them. I do not want to see or smell any kind of alcohol or rich food for a long time...well, till the weekend, anyway.
                              😁
I saw the first ‘door bow’ of the season today. I hope it’s the last but I doubt it.
Off for a catch up now, but just want to wish Enfys and Mr Enfys well for tomorrow.
