Nanto, yes, J is doing his best, bless him. He was mortified. He made excellent omelettes to make up for it though. Our Sainsburys order was the same time. I wasn't even dressed! Mind you, J would be round to yours today for the gammon and pineapple if he had half a chance.

Gem, a busy day for you with little E. I hope the sun's shining and you can get outside to play.

Plant, I'm sure your friend who's recently lost her husband will be pleased to see you and your other friend. It must be hard for her finding a new 'normal' at the moment, and you've known each other a long time so she will hopefully be able to relax and enjoy lunch. I hope Waitrose deliver on the menu options.

Apart from putting the shopping away I've had a lazy morning, but I'd like to have a little potter in the garden this afternoon. The sun's nice but the wind is chilly.

      Afternoon ladies ,
Sorry I'm late but it's been a manic morning,
Firstly we went to Morrisons, then onto MILs ,
She was in a panic as her TV wasn't working ,
B fiddled with it then decided to change the virgin box with the one upstairs and the TV came on instantly so it was the virgin box ,
He then checked the batteries in the remote controls to make sure they worked ok .
He then made her bed and I put the bin out.
She was in a right flap saying I'm so stressed, B got a bit snappy with her and said "what have you to be stressed about everyone does everything for you ",
She said what if it had been the telly broke , so I said well then we would have gone straight to Currys and bought a new one , we wouldn't let you sit without a telly.
She was making a drama out of nothing 😠

From there we came home I did the ironing and B did a bit more of the fence but then ran out of paint so we had to go to B&Q for more ,
We have just sat down for a sandwich and a cupper.

      Daisy
It's still nippy in the shade ,
Poor J but these things happen , I'm always dropping something and breaking it ,
      B said I'm like a demolition squad when I start 😁

      Plant
I hope Waitrose has a good menu but its the company that's more important,
I hope you have a good catch up xx

      Gem
Enjoy your day with E I wonder what he plays today maybe more shopping and cars 😁

      Nanto
      As I've said before , I love gammon ,
I will be in the queue with Daisy's OH 😋

Daisy, J is doing well with his cooking, and we all break things unfortunately!

Plant I hope you had a nice catch up.

Oma, no playing cars or shops today! We were outside a lot so it was sandpit and bikes. Inside mainly playdough, and Bing on TV He left early today as his mum finished work earlier, so is having his tea and bath at home.

Nanto, I hope though delicious meals are now safely in the freezer, ready to give you an easy meal.

Plant, how were your friends, and how was the lunch menu?

Oma, I think both you and B are very patient with your MIL all the time, so an occasional reminder about how lucky she is to have so much help doesn't come amiss. I hope she took it on board. When will B get his blood test results?

Gem, what a lovely day to be outside playing with little E. I bet he went off to sleep without a nurmer tonight after all that fun and fresh air. What about you, though - are you tired as well?

I didn't get done some of the things I wanted today, but I took it easy this morning, and this afternoon we tookEva over to DS2's and stayed for a natter and a cup of tea. We were still there when GD2 got home from school, so it was great to see her as well. DS2 has loads of very healthy-looking seedlings growing in his greenhouse. Hopefully it will be a better crop than last year. I've put my order in for a few tomato plants and a couple of other things.

My hospital appointment tomorrow is first thing, so I might not be online until the evening. I hope everyone has a good day though. xx

Daisy it can be a bit full on looking after a two year old, but we did have some TV time, and I didn't have to do his tea, bath and hair wash this week

How nice to see the family today. I will be thinking of you tomorrow xx

Good morning, thinking of you Daisy.xxxx. I hope it all goes as planned and that you are not so ill from the treatment.

Regarding the broken pyrex, on one of the first days doing the coffee duty, 12 years ago, I dropped a pyrex tea mug on a concrete floor, it exploded!! One of the staff came to help me sweep all the glass up, each time I put them back in the cupboard I think of it.

Oma, you do so well coping with your MIL.

When our flats were renovated. 18 years ago, I bought a folding wall washing rack from Lakeland, I had it delivered to my sisters house and brought it back with me, now and again, luckily not too often, a line will break, a simple solution would be to do separate lines with knots in, not me, I like it to be neat so put all the line through the tubing, that was yesterday, it is more difficult now with my fingers as they are, but, I coped, it is ready to hang back up again this morning, hopefully for the next 10 years.

Summer is forecast for today, 20+! I can't remember the last time we had any rain.

                Good morning everyone.

Daisy, hope today goes well for you.

Yesterday we had two lots of visitors.
That was our afternoon and early evening taken care of.
So, i am way behind on here again.

Hubby out for a couple of hours,so i'm going to make the cottage pies and pastry pie for the freezer.

Easy dinner of chips, beans and egg. One of huby's favourite meals.

Nan2 those ice creams look tempting!

A warm day ahead for you Lizzie. I hope your hard work lasts you a long time!

Daisy, if you don't feel like posting later don't make yourself xxx

A busy day for me. GS1 here for the morning, and possibly all day. Early school pick up for GS2 at 2.20. Then we are going to the Designer Outlet about 10 minutes drive from school. Outdoor play area and McDonalds. Then back to school for 5 to drop off GS2 for the end of term Easter party. Then if GS1 is with me I will drop him home on my way back.
We are going to friends for a takeaway evening, so no cooking

The washing rail will last a long time again I'm sure,
I remember once trying to re string a rotary washing line ,
It ended up in the bin and I bought a new one , nightmare to do 😁

                    Lovely graphic,
We bought ice cream cones yesterday, we wanted sandwich wafers but every supermarket I've looked in don't have them for some reason ,
We used to get chocolate wafers from Morrisons but they seem to have stopped stocking them also.

Just popping to the card shop this morning then over to M&S
We went to DDs last night,
I had a dressmakers Mannequin she wanted so dropped that off and money to SIL for the bedroom carpets.

I might sugar soap my kitchen cupboard doors later I will see how I feel.
Have a good day ladies xx

That reminds me I must go to the card shop in the village this morning. I will see if GS1 wants a walk up with me. I need a helium balloon for GS2 tomorrow. Hopefully with Lego on it!!

Oma, did you do the cupboard doors?

Today has flown by for me.
Two cottage pies and one mince and onion pastry pie in the freezer.
I had a bit of filling left over,so that is in the freezer. Can always serve it with chips or fries.

Daisy, i hope today is going ok for you.

Got up late and then I didn’t catch up before my cleaner arrived, she is amazing. Nothing but interruptions so I was very late getting showered and dressed. Just re-potted a small seedling H planted at nursery, presumably a sunflower. Had a nice meet with my two friends yesterday, lunch was good, lots of chat catching up. When we left Waitrose road was shut in the direction I needed to go home, so I had to take a route home that was much longer and very crowded. Apparently a car had mounted the pavement, hitting two cars and nearly mowed down a group of schoolgirls on the pavement. Amazing no one was injured but one girl and two motorists were taken to hospital. Fortunately I knew the route home.

Oma, Well done for putting your Mil’s mind at rest. You do worry more as you get older as sometimes you need help to put things right.

Daisy I hope all will be straight forward for your hospital visit. Is J cooking again tonight?

Nanto, time does fly when you are interrupted but we love to see visitors.

Gemini, Your GC certainly keep you busy. Did your GS1 turn up?

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

We have had a busy day. GS1 was with me all day and the boys enjoyed being together this afternoon.
I have dropped GS2 at his party, GS1 home and am having a cuppa.
OH not back from playing golf yet! I think we are picking up the takeaway order at 7.15 on the way to our friends house.
                            Still beautifully sunny

                              Nanto
I did do the doors, I clean them every week but thought a good sugar soap would do them good and it did,
You don't realise you get a build up of cleaner ,I use Flash wipe and shine on them and although it cleans them really well it obviously leaves a residue.
I was amazed how much came off,

I then did all the tiles in the kitchen and utility ,
I was going to wash the paintworks down but I was fed up by then .

Getting those pies made means you always have a fall back of food in the freezer doesn't it ,

                              Plant
You have nothing to rush about for , just take your time.
I'm pleased to hear your cleaner is good, is she coming every week?
Detours are a pain we had the same on Sunday , we didn't know they were doing road works on the route to the garden centre where we were meeting the family,
We had to make a 10 minute detour , ok for us but not for strangers coming into the area and our road system.

                              Gem
Our posts crossed, pleased to hear GS1 came and enjoyed his day , GS2 was happy to see him I bet.
                              Enjoy your Chinese 😁

What busy been you've all been today!

Nanto, those ice creams look good enough to eat. Oma, when my parents first got their corner shop my Dad used to make ice cream on the premises, and it was served as people came it, so they could choose cones or wafers. The gadget to make wafers had two settings - 4d (4 old pence) and 6d. You put a wafer in, used something like a paint scraper to add ice cream then the top wafer and eject carefully! Dad would nearly always add a little bit extra so the ice ream was piled up between the wafers! I can remember trying very hard to make them look neat when I served. Funny how memories like that stick with you.

Nanto, did you catch up with yourself today? Egg, chips and beans are one of those combinations made in heaven!

Oma, I would never have thought of cleaning kitchen cupboard doors with sugar soap. I'd have assumed it would make the paint/coating dull and scratched.. You live and learn!

Lizzie, what a patient lady you are rethreading the whole of your wall washing line like that. I know I would have taken the easy option, but then it would probably annoy me every day! Well done to you! Did the temperature reach the promised 20+? I know you don't like too much heat, so I hope it was bearable. You must have felt mortified when you dropped that Pyrex tea mug all those years ago, but I'm sure you've been forgiven after helping out for so long.

Gem, a busy day, but so good that GS1 stayed all day, and GS2 had a chance to spend time with him as well. I hope GS2's party went well. It's hard to believe the Easter holiday are upon us already! Did S have a good day on the golf course? Was it a competition?

Plant, your cleaning lady sounds wonderful. It must make such a difference for you not to have to worry about those chores. You're a busy lady anyway, between spending time with H, your social activities and games afternoons. By the way, I hope H's sunflower grows. I remember having to substitute a reserve I'd planted when one of our GC's plant died. The only trouble was the replacement was a dwarf sunflower, not a Jack and the Beanstalk type!

I think we all get a bit fed up with road closures etc, but in that accident today, you can only be thankful that the school girls were unhurt and at least you knew your way round the diversion.

Yes, J has done an excellent job in the kitchen again - I'll be handing over my chef's toque to him at this rate. (In my dreams, unfortunately)
