I've done it again. Started one job and drifted into another. I cleaned the inside of my car windows, then realised the outsides needed doing as well. So I did those, and noticed water had dribbled down from the windows leaving streaks all over my car so I ended up cleaning the whole thing. Took Eva for walkies - yes Oma, she still thinks she's a puppy at times.

Got home just as it was going dark so went to put my car back in its usual place on the drive - and it wouldn't start! The battery was flat. So we called the AA having realised that we'd never put a new battery on the car in all the time we've had it. They put a new battery on. Then I started to get dinner. Nothing went right. I spilled flour twice (I was also making bread), burnt some bacon, Couldn't get the filters back in the cooker hood, overcooked the rice, forgot to warm the plates, hurt my hand by hitting it with the handle of a large knife while I was crushing garlic, and generally trashed our nice clean, tidy kitchen. Booohooo.

I think I'd best have an early night. But on the bright side (literally!) my new torch has arrived and I think I could light the whole village with it!!

      Good morning.

Daisy, what a series of disasters.
Hope you don't have any today, you had more than your share yesterday.

Not much happening here today for us. I think hubby is going down to his brothers to help him move something into his shed.
      Daresay I'll find some jobs.

Dinner is chicken in breadcrumbs, crispy sliced potatoes. Peas and sweetcorn.

        Good morning ladies.

        That's a pretty graphic Nan2.

Daisy, today can only be better! I hope you had a good night's sleep.

I enjoyed the film, which is Part 1 - it said To Be Continued at the end!!

Aqua this morning (I got a cancellation on the waiting list again) I am meeting Lizzie's and my mutual friend for our annual pre Christmas lunch at 1.
I will write up the Minutes from yesterday's meeting when I get back, whilst it's fresh in my mind.

              Good Wednesday morning, everyone.

Nanto, thank you for that lovely reminder that flowers will bloom again and will be adorned with butterflies. xx

Gem, you've done well getting two aqua cancellations this week. Enjoy! Is part 2 of the film due soon? Have a lovely lunch with your friend. Are you eating locally?

Oma, I do hope that your sore throat doesn't get worse - you've waited a while to have that tooth taken out, and you want to enjoy B's birthday meal on Sunday. Take care.

I'm just trying to sort out if there's a way out of the village for dog training this afternoon. Flood waters are still rising.

Daisy, I don't know if they have even started filming Part 2, I must Google!

We are eating in York. My friend doesn't drive so we are a bit limited. I will catch the bus in as we may have a mulled wine

I hope you make it to dog training.

I'm quite surprised about there being a Part 2. We saw it on stage and enjoyed it.

Hopefully the floods will recede a bit - it's low tide at 2 pm, and that usually helps.
You can't say no to mulled wine. x

Seeing all the flooding on the news, I am relieved we live on very high ground but feel so sorry for the families who are flooded. As a family we lived quite close to the Thames and we had fun when our road was flooded slightly but after I left home my parents were flooded badly and lost possessions. My sister had to borrow a small boat to get them out, including a dog and a budgie. It was the mess after that was a problem.

Oma, I hope your sore throat doesn’t stop you having the dental treatment tomorrow.

Daisy, I hope you have a disaster free day today

Gemini, Enjoy your two Aqua sessions.

Board games for me this afternoon, I am trying to get back to my usual activities, still feeling very tired . The chemist gave me some energy tabs but as I already take Zinc he could only let me have a fizzy tab. Containing vitamins.

Hallo everyone, Gem, my nephews eldest son took his 4 children to see Wicked at the weekend, when they got out he asked what they thought to it, they all enjoyed it, only the second youngest son, he must be about 11 or 12 now, said " well it would have been OK without the singing"!!!!

Enjoy the lunch with I, I have just heard that the circuit group have booked a table for a lunch on 18th December.

Plant I agree with you, the floods are shocking, it the clearing up after them that seems to be so much work. Part of the Netherlands is under water level, a good thing we have strong dykes! Enjoy the board games.

It is wet and very windy here, storm forecast later so I will walk to do the coffee this evening.

Daisy, I have days like that, start one thing than other things happen.

DS1 phoned and said they have all had a cold but recovered now. It isn't very often he gets a cold, he blames the flight home!

Lizzie, glad the family have recovered from their colds.
We both had a cold when we got bak from holiday, and i wondered if it was flight.

Oma, hope the sore throat doesn't develop into a cold.

Hubby needed/wanted to go to Toolstation for a new light for the shed, which he did get.
Its in a little retailpark,so went into Dunhelm. I bought 2 scented candles and 2 packets of slow cooker liners.

Turned very cold now, could be frosty tonight.

Nanto, with so many people on flight s I expect germs will spread easily. Hubby will be pleased with the light and you with your candles, they are one of the things I can't have in my house, I can't have the perfumes, make me ill! Even walking through the candle section in a store (Ikea), I feel ill.

It is blowing a gale here, just reading there is a lot of damage etc so I will walk to go and do the coffee. It isn't far.

Brr, its cold here. I was very glad of my nice warm duvet coat wating for the bus home!
We had a nice lunch, chat and mulled wine

I agree that flights are places to catch bugs, as are buses!

IT is really cold isn't it,
We have had quite a bit of rain .

Lizzie I'm the same with the body shop or Lush even walking past I feel sick.
Yankee candle do a candle that is Daisy scented , it's very light I'm ok with that , they also do a baby powder one I can tolerate.
When I go to my DDs she blows her candles out , she likes heavy scents and this time of the year the pine and Christmas ones , like the smell of lilies it gives me a instant headache.

MIL sais she's going shopping herself on Friday , we can't reason with her so we have to let her do it .
She said she will get a Taxi there and back and hang onto the trolly,
She doesn't get how worried we all are,
Her being her she won't listen.
We can't physically stop her so just have to hope she's ok.

                              Nanto
B is a fan of tool station , we have one at the top of our estate so very close for him to keep popping too😁

How did games go did you win any ?
Must be awful for all those poor flood victims

I'm thinking I might not get to the dentist tomorrow, I'm not feeling great, sore throat cough and headache plus I'm hot. Fingers crossed it is better by the morning.

Plant, I'm so pleased you felt like going to your board games this afternoon. I hope you won, but even if you didn't you must have enjoyed the change, and I'm sure friends were pleased to see you back in action. Hopefully you will sleep well tonight as well.

The floods are so awful. My heart goes out to people whose homes get flooded. It's not just water, it's what is in the water and it must smell dreadful.

Lizzie, I had to laugh at your nephew's son saying Wickd would have been better without the singing. I hope you were ok walking to do the coffee in such horrible weather. Your DS1 must be right about catching colds on the flight. All that recycled air (unless it was a Dreamliner!)

Gem, what a lovely day you've had. You were right about the mulled wine. I've often thought about getting a duvet coat, but wonder if people find them bulky. Do you like yours?

Nanto and Oma, my OH is another one who'd live at the Tool Station, given a choice! .

Nanto, I didn't know you could get liners for slow cookers. It might sound like a silly question, but what are they made of - tinfoil?

Oma, oh dear, I hope you feel better in the morning, but I don't think the dentist will want you anywhere near the surgery if you've got a sore throat and a temperature. And you certainly don't need the trauma of having a tooth out. Your MIL is a very determined lady! Fingers crossed she's ok shopping on her own.

A lot of people have bad reactions to scented candles, perfumes etc. It's such a pity, and must be an awful feeling. I lit a scented candle in the main bathroom this morning and the little glass jar it was in cracked!

By the time I left for dog training the worst of the flooding had receded - there were only 3 proper floods on the route to the hall. There were large areas of the Forest though that were under water. People were posting videos on social media of stranded vehicles.

Dog training was hilarious this afternoon. They all seemed very bouncy, and flyball had us in stitches. Usually they have 4 jumps to go over to get to the treat dispenser. This afternoon there were 10, including two going round corners. The dogs all kept missing out the ones they didn't fancy - we couldn't work out what their reasoning was. Some missed out jumps going round the corner, other missed ones in the straight line. Still, they all loved it and so did we. Luckily we're not training for blind obedience.
