Gem, that's a lovely idea to share out a good harvest. We used to put produce from the allotment out at the front for people to help themselves - it was usually courgettes that became a glut.

It was very kind of you to cook sausage and mash when it was so hot, but I'm sure GS2 enjoyed his tea.

I've had a rather frustrating day - one of those times when every job you try to do either goes wrong or can't be finished. OH has been struggling with some badly designed websites, and I can see why he gets cross with them when he can't find the information he wants. I've tried to sort through a pile of swimwear to see if I've got something suitable for our holidays, but there's only one tankini which is reasonably ok, so I think I need to do some shopping.

A few days ago I got OH some insect repellent wrist bands to try and protect him from so many insect bites. He tried one this afternoon, and Eva freaked out. She wouldn't go near him and was shaking like a jelly. It did smell rather strong - a bit like newly cleaned public loos!! So it's back to the drawing board on what to do next.

For the second week running our food bin hasn't been emptied, but this time it's everyone in our cul de sac, not just us. I went on to the Council website to report it and there was no option - it just said "collection not complete". It may be emptied in the next three working days, or may end up being next Friday. Our bin's already full and by next week will be alive with maggots. Ugh.

    Definitely one of those days!!

      Good morning. Cloudy this morning.

Oh dear Daisy, don't you hate those frustrating days.
Hope you manage to find some suitable swimwear.
We don't have a food bin, but a couple of weeks ago I read that every household will have one by April next year.

Going into town this morning. Meeting up with DS2.

        Good morning everyone.

Have a nice trip into town Nan2.

Daisy, just the worst time of year to have food bins uncollected!
We don't have a food waste bin either.

GS3's birthday party day. The plan was to meet at the Buddhist Centre ( a mile or two from their house) for a picnic party. However they have discovered that the cafe there is closed for a week. The grounds are open so it wouldn't affect our picnic, but they decided the loos may be closed as well, so better to have the party in their garden. That also means we have the option of inside if it rains!

          Afternoon ladies,
I'm late but been a busy morning.
B decided to start sanding the other worktops so everything had to be moved ,
I stripped the beds and I've been washing what seems like for hours.
Then GS rang could he come for brunch when he finished at 10.30.
So he had lamb in gravy in sourdough baguette,
He had just arrived when when DD arrived with the dog.

GS off on holiday with his friends early hours of tomorrow morning.

By the time they went I needed to go to Aldi to get something quick for tea just to put in the oven as no work surfaces to prepare anything on .
Came back had a sandwich now I'm sitting down for a while till the last of the bedding is washed and dried.
Had to put it in the tumble as it's that fine horrible rain out there.

          Daisy
          Those days are so annoying.
How strange the bands effecting Ava like that but dogs noses are way more sensitive than ours aren't they.

          Gem
I hope the party goes of with no trouble , as you say at least in their garden to can retreat indoors if it rains.
I bet he is so excited 😁🎂🥳

            Good afternoon, everyone.

Nanto, I hope you've had a nice trip into town. Did DS2 join you for coffee/lunch? I hope your food bin collection goes smoother than ours - the Council don't seem able to get a grip on the many problems - most of them could have been avoided with a bit of thought!

Gem, if your weather's like ours having little E's party at home is a good decision. E will love it, wherever it is. Did he like his balloon?

Oma, it's all happening at yours - sanding, starving GS plus Storm. Where is GS going for his holiday? I hope he has a great time. Eva sometimes takes fright at the strangest things. Currently she's frightened of OH's mobile!

I got a load of washing done early and put it out on the line. I checked it after an hour or so and it was very nearly dry. What a pity I didn't notice it starting to rain. So now it's all inside and still not dry. Plus a load of stuff in the washing machine that needs to drip dry. Grrr....

The Red Arrows flew over our house an hour or so ago. They are on their way to a carnival display in Dorset, and we'll no doubt see them on their return journey sometime tomorrow. This is their second fly over our village in a couple of weeks, and it's always spectacular to see them.

Daisy he's off to somewhere in Greece,

We used to get the red arrows coming over when we had the Sunderland air show but it's no longer on,
Quite a sight and sound isn't it.

Isn't it strange how they take fright at things , Storm runs if SIL snaps the top of his sock , we have no idea why , so if anyone is putting socks on they have to do it quietly 😁

Hallo everyone, we still haven't got the rain, in fact, it is very warm! Rain is forecast for tomorrow though.

GD1 came for lunch, I promised her salmon so we had lunch, she helped me with a few things, got an order done on Temu then we went for a walk to the village, it is the strangest thing, their village is always so very busy, it never seems to be at all here, not that I mind though. We were in a few shops and GD1 said how nice it was to shop in peace!! She is on her way home now on her bike.

Gem, you will the enjoy the party, 3 years soon seems to go!!!

Oma, you get so much work done. I did get my bed changed this morning and my bedroom done, oh and all the washing out and dried.

Daisy, I have seen the red arrows many years ago at an air show in Lincolnshire, well, we were on our way with my father at the time, stuck in miles of traffic when they flew over, that was our air show as my father said we would be sat in the traffic for hours so we returned home! I seem to remember we saw them at an air show at Scheveningen years ago.

Nanto, I hope you enjoyed your trip to the town.

I am pleased our bins are down in the street, I have heard of people getting maggots in them.I take mine down a few times a day in this weather, it is very handy, when I go down I just take the rubbish with me.

Yesterday I pruned the smallest olive trees, they were full of olives, too many in fact, it seemed to be weakening the trees, so, I cut them back removing all the olives as I went. I just hope that they pick up now, the 2 largest are growing well but not as many olives in those.

I think I will do a salad for tea after eating the salmon for lunch.

Oma, love to see the Red Arrows. I hope your GS has a lovely holiday and keeps well away from spiked drinks. Difficult to prepare meals when the worktops are being sanded.

Daisy, we have had an overcast morning, spits of rain and now it is bright and sunny. I presume there is a nice sexy costume on order for your holiday. I hope you get your bins
emptied soon, not nice or healthy at this time of the year.

Gemini, I hope you all had a lovely party in spite of change of venue.

Nanto, I hope you had a nice trip into town and time spent with DS2

Feeling very tired now after a trip to JL with GD1 and H. Couldn’t find what we wanted but we had a nice lunch. They had some interesting new rails of clothes but being with GD and H I didn’t have a chance to look.

We have seen the Red Arrows once at an air show. Quite a few years ago though.

It was very busy in town, we enjoyed our day.
Met up with DS2 for coffee.

We haven't had any rain, its been a day of sun and cloud.Mostly sun.

Gem, hope the part is going well/went well.

                    Lizzie,the salmon lunch sounds nice.

Here we are with the balloon!
When we went to pick it up yesterday, it was a lot bigger than I expected!

Nice sunny weather here too Nan2, with the odd cloud.

Plant you will have to go back to JL on your own for a better browse.

Salmon is one of my favourites Lizzie.

I hope your GS enjoys his holiday, Oma.

How nice to see the Red Arrows go over Daisy.

Oma, I should think it's quite hot in Greece at the moment. But I'm sure he'll have a great time.

Lizzie, I should think you will be glad to see the rain and have it a bit cooler. Salmon makes a nice meal, doesn't it. That's what we had tonight.

Nanto, there's more atmosphere when a town centre's busy, but it was a good chance to catch up with DS2 over a coffee.

Plant, it's hard to look round shops when there is a youngster with you, so no wonder you're tired. As Gem says you'll have to go back and have a browse on your own. I hope you've had a chance to put your feet up and rest. I haven't found a swimsuit I like yet. I may have to make do with a couple of very old ones. I've washed them today, just in case.

Gem, how could little E not have a fantastic party with a balloon like that! It's enormous, and I bet he was delighted with it. Did it go in your car ok? Thank you for the lovely photo.

It was nice to see the Red Arrows. They were flying in formation, but quite low and very fast compared with the commercial passenger planes who are slowing down to land at Bournemouth. The most spectacular Red Arrows airshow I've seen was at Bournemouth - out over the sea. We were staying the night in a hotel in Bournemouth (a works do for OH) and had a balcony facing the right direction to watch the display. It was unforgettable!

I seem to have had a busy day with washing, housework and other odd jobs. I've just taken Eva for a walk - it was too hot earlier.

                            Good morning, cloudy this morning.

Hubby going to a car boot sale soon.

I've got a load of towels in the washer.

                            Otherwise no plans for today.

Doing a full English for dinner, I've been fancying one for a few days. I remembered to get mushrooms yesterday.

Gem, that was a big balloon, lovely photo.
                            Glad he enjoyed his party.

                              Good morning ladies.

Nan2, we sometimes have that for our main meal and wonder why we don't more often!

Daisy, I struggled to get that balloon into my little Micra on Friday! GS2 in the front with me, GS3's fixed car seat taking up a lot of the back seat. Luckily it was a very short drive.
It was just the two of us in OH's bigger car going to the party yesterday so it went in the back of the car easily.

No plans today. OH has a round of golf booked with a friend and her OH. I may pop out to Sainsburys for a couple of things.

                                Morning Nanto,Ladies.

                                Nanto
I have a load of towels in the wash also,
I decided to refresh the ones in the cupboard too so a good pile I had.

I bet he loved that balloon it's as big as him 😁
One excited boy I bet ♥️

                                Daisy
You know what will happen you will go away with your old swimsuits come home and find the exact one you were looking for, it's sods law😁

I dread if we get food waste containers , there are a few around hear that won't look after them and they will be crawling with maggots in no time,
We also have a cat comes around that tries to get in the bins at the best of times so that will be a magnet to him.

                                Lizzie
I love salmon too, GD is right it's nice to shop when it's quiet,
Are you doing anything with the olives ?

                                Plant
A trip to JL alone would be good, I have the same trouble with MIL I don't get the chance to look ,

It's damp and dull at the minute,
I have to go out this morning I've ran out of floor and toilet cleaners , plus my battery operated hand wash has died on me so I need a new one for the downstairs loo.

Everything done so I'm off to have a nice shower, have a good day ladies .
