I wish I could say I felt better, I now have laryngitis's. Car had to go in for MOT, I decided I would wait for it but it started raining and the cafe was closed so my DD came and fetched me and she and my Sil fetched the car for me, I just wasn’t up to it. It did pass. GD1, H and her daddy back tomorrow. Been a bit gloomy and spots of rain today.
Oma, you are always making my mouth water with your purchases from food stalls, so much nicer than supermarkets.
Gemini, your lunch sounds yummy, can’t remember the last time I had a roast.
Daisy, I hope you didn’t have to wait long for your blood test.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
Oh dear, I've left it a bit late to catch up today. The time seems to have slipped away.
Nanto, the peacocks are so colourful, aren't they. That reminds me, having never seen a Peacock butterfly in real life until quite recently, there are a lot in the garden this year. There has also been some small mostly brown butterflies and I don't know what they are, plus the usual visitors - Red Admirals, Cabbage Whites and Brimstones. Enjoy your new frying pan. I need to get one and a new wok as well.
Oma, I must have a go at pineapple cake - pineapple is OH's favourite fruit. Black Forest cheese cake sounds wonderful, and it's useful to know the vegan one is nice, as like you, I don't eat cream. At least you had a good down pour of rain eventually, but you'd hope it would clear the air a bit wouldn't you.
Gem, I'm amazed the boats don't capsize in the Dragon races - the rowers looked so excited, I can imagine all sorts of mishaps. I hope you've had a lovely day and enjoyed your evening with A and G. Where did they go for their holiday?
Lizzie, you had a very busy but productive morning. Our blackberries are mostly still flowers, but there are plenty of them. Did you enjoy your last aqua before the summer break?
Plant, I'm so sorry to hear you've got Laryngitis. Have you been to the doctors or the pharmacy to get something for it? I'm glad you didn't have to hang around in the rain waiting for your car, and it passed! GD1, her OH and H being home tomorrow will help to cheer you up, I hope. I'm sure H will be full of excitement about her holiday.
I didn't have to wait long for the blood test, even though it was busy. Our local hospital is very good. We stopped off at the vets first to collect some new medicine for Eva. She's been having oestrogen tablets, because like a lot of human ladies she was a bit "leaky", especially at night. But they're no longer available so we've switched to another product which is a syrup she has 3 times a day. The receptionist there is a friend and she'd got her new Spaniel puppy with her. She's gorgeous, and I had a lovely cuddle, and on the way in I got talking to a couple just leaving with their 9 week old Yorkie, who was also super cute. He was the image of Clyde (the black one of our two Yorkies). Then at the hospital I got talking to the lady sitting next to me who was telling me about the horrible blisters on her face - insect bites - and her arm was all swollen from a bite as well.
We came home, had a coffee and a sit down. It wasn't as hot today, but it was too windy to have some of the windows open, and we had to close the back door to stop it banging to. It felt quite warm in the house so I had a lazy afternoon, doing nothing much except a bit of cleaning in the kitchen. I've just taken Eva out for a walk and it was really pleasant - cooler and the wind has dropped.

Good morning. It's a lot cooler this morning. Rain and thunder forecast from 10am.
Hubby meeting his pal this morning, but he might be back early if the weather is bad.
Plant, hope you feel a bit better today.
Daisy, hope the syrup helps Eva.
DS2 and DIL are coming today. They are having dinner with us. Told them its only salad and chicken goujons, but they are both happy with that.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
Are there no aqua classes for the rest of the summer then Lizzie?
Will it be easy to get Eva to have her syrup three times a day Daisy?
Nan2, yesterday we had thunder forecast for today. This morning the forecast had changed to light rain showers and a moderate breeze. It's nice and sunny now.
Last night when we wanted a fine warm evening to eat in the garden with our friends, it rained!!
We all enjoyed the evening nevertheless.
Daisy their holiday was a week in The Lakes and somewhere else I cant quite remember for a few days! They always book self catering cottages and never go abroad. They do not have dog but holiday as though they do
Library this morning for me.
Golf for OH. It will probably rain, but at least thunder isn't likely now.

Morning Nanto,Ladies.
It's dry but dull I'm not sure what the forecast is I haven't looked.
Daisy
Hope Eva doesn't mind the syrup, hopefully it tastes nice to her,
Yes as the cheesecake has no cream in its a lot less sweet , not that I mind normal cheesecake , I will eat any but I much prefer the Vegan one 😁
Nanto
It's a day for salad isn't it , I'm sure they will enjoy it.
Plant
How are you today ?
Lizzie
That's the best about picking blackberries in season , all the lovely jam you can make😁
Gem
Have you spoke to DDs since the fete , were they happy how it all went?
Did A&G enjoy their meal , I bet they appreciate not having to cook their first night back home.
I'm off to the hairdresser's at 9, better take two headache tablets my hairdresser could win medals for talking and laughing,
No doubt our talk will all be about Poppy coming home,
They picked her up on Thursday from Heathrow.
DS2 and DIL have had to cancel today. Her mam has had a fall, and can't get up. She has banged her head on something as well.
Hubby parks up not far from her flat,so he's going to call in.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
Oma, your hairdresser will be very glad to have Poppy back.
They had 8000 people over that weekend, I think they are all very happy. I don't know if it was a one of or will be an annual event .

Nanto, I hope DIL's Mum is ok. It's kind of your hubby to call in and see if he can help.
Plant, I've been thinking about you and I hope your throat is improving. Did you sleep ok? Is your cleaning lady still coming?
Oma, your hairdresser sounds great fun. Going to the hairdressers should be cheerful and make you feel happy. Where had Poppy been - on holiday?
Gem, the Carnival was a huge success - over 8,00 people is fantastic. It sounds as though it could become a regular event. How would your DDs feel about that? What a pity it rained last night, but at least you weren't part-way through your meal. I hope it doesn't rain for OH's golf today. Enjoy your morning at the library. Is it being well-used?
Eva doesn't notice the syrup as we give it with a bit of her food or a treat. The vet says it's palatable - I'll believe her.
We had rain overnight and it's just been raining again. It's also windy again, and our lovely Victoria plum tree, laden with fruit, has snapped off from the main trunk. It would have been the first y ear we've had a proper crop from it. It hasn't broken off completely, so we're going to try and support the broken part which is carrying the weight of the fruit. Then when (if!) the fruit survives and ripens we'll have to cut the trunk off completely. We were so looking forward to having a good crop this year. The other plum tree hasn't got anywhere near as much fruit on it, but at least it's still standing.
I've put a load of bedding in to wash, but it doesn't look very promising to dry it outside. I've got a telephone appointment with the Consultant this afternoon. Other than that, a quiet day.

Gemini, wow that is an amazing turn out for the event. A lot of work for your DD’s.
Nanto, I hope your OH finds the poor lady okay from her fall.
Daisy, I hope Eva will be okay with the medicine.
Oma, I hope you don’t come home with a headache
I think I am starting to turn the corner, going to pop to the local shop for some bits and some money. Cleaner keeps changing her day and time, she is coming this afternoon now. I was hoping to have a quiet afternoon.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
Plant, thanks goodness you're starting to feel better. Don't overdo things, though. I hope the cleaner leaves you to rest and relax. Is it a good day to go and sit in your sun room with a good audio book?

Daisy,
Poppy was in the camp that flooded in Texas,
She was over there as a team leader, thankfully the night and day of the flood she was away from camp.
She lost everything all her clothes personal things but at least she's alive not like so many children and adults
Poor things,
They are just thankful to get her home.
What a shame with the plum tree , can the branch not be grafted back on ?,I have seen something where they wrapped the branch back to the trunk till it naturally healed.
Plant
Pleased to hear your feeling better but don't push yourself too soon xx
When hubby called,DILwas with her Mam, having a cuppa. He said she was shaken up,but ok otherwise.
I'll ring DIL soon, to see how she is.
Daisy, hope you can salvage the plums. We once had something like that happen with an apple tree.
He tied a bandage round it,and eventually it grafted back onto the tree.
