    Good Monday morning, everyone.

I've got a blood test this morning, so I'll catch up later.

I wish I could say I felt better, I now have laryngitis's. Car had to go in for MOT, I decided I would wait for it but it started raining and the cafe was closed so my DD came and fetched me and she and my Sil fetched the car for me, I just wasn’t up to it. It did pass. GD1, H and her daddy back tomorrow. Been a bit gloomy and spots of rain today.

Oma, you are always making my mouth water with your purchases from food stalls, so much nicer than supermarkets.

Gemini, your lunch sounds yummy, can’t remember the last time I had a roast.

Daisy, I hope you didn’t ave to wait long for your blood test.

Oh dear, I've left it a bit late to catch up today. The time seems to have slipped away.

Nanto, the peacocks are so colourful, aren't they. That reminds me, having never seen a Peacock butterfly in real life until quite recently, there are a lot in the garden this year. There has also been some small mostly brown butterflies and I don't know what they are, plus the usual visitors - Red Admirals, Cabbage Whites and Brimstones. Enjoy your new frying pan. I need to get one and a new wok as well.

Oma, I must have a go at pineapple cake - pineapple is OH's favourite fruit. Black Forest cheese cake sounds wonderful, and it's useful to know the vegan one is nice, as like you, I don't eat cream. At least you had a good down pour of rain eventually, but you'd hope it would clear the air a bit wouldn't you.

Gem, I'm amazed the boats don't capsize in the Dragon races - the rowers looked so excited, I can imagine all sorts of mishaps. I hope you've had a lovely day and enjoyed your evening with A and G. Where did they go for their holiday?

Lizzie, you had a very busy but productive morning. Our blackberries are mostly still flowers, but there are plenty of them. Did you enjoy your last aqua before the summer break?

Plant, I'm so sorry to hear you've got Laryngitis. Have you been to the doctors or the pharmacy to get something for it? I'm glad you didn't have to hang around in the rain waiting for your car, and it passed! GD1, her OH and H being home tomorrow will help to cheer you up, I hope. I'm sure H will be full of excitement about her holiday.

I didn't have to wait long for the blood test, even though it was busy. Our local hospital is very good. We stopped off at the vets first to collect some new medicine for Eva. She's been having oestrogen tablets, because like a lot of human ladies she was a bit "leaky", especially at night. But they're no longer available so we've switched to another product which is a syrup she has 3 times a day. The receptionist there is a friend and she'd got her new Spaniel puppy with her. She's gorgeous, and I had a lovely cuddle, and on the way in I got talking to a couple just leaving with their 9 week old Yorkie, who was also super cute. He was the image of Clyde (the black one of our two Yorkies). Then at the hospital I got talking to the lady sitting next to me who was telling me about the horrible blisters on her face - insect bites - and her arm was all swollen from a bite as well.

We came home, had a coffee and a sit down. It wasn't as hot today, but it was too windy to have some of the windows open, and we had to close the back door to stop it banging to. It felt quite warm in the house so I had a lazy afternoon, doing nothing much except a bit of cleaning in the kitchen. I've just taken Eva out for a walk and it was really pleasant - cooler and the wind has dropped.
