It sounds as though we've all given in to the hot weather today! Very sensible of us, in my opinion.

Nanto, I haven't ironed yesterday's washing yet, either. I need to do it first thing in the morning when the room is cool, but my current morning routine is too slow! By the time I'm good and ready, it's too hot.

OH has been watching the tennis all afternoon, and I've been reading. Sainsbury's have just been and I've put everything away, so back to a comfy chair in the living room and my Kindle now. Eva probably won't get a walk unless it cools down massively before bedtime.

      Keep staying cool ladies 😎

Far too hot to cook so we have just enjoyed a Chinese takeaway in the garden. Nice and cool now .
I was reading in the garden for an hour or so this afternoon but even in the shade it was so hot.
The cats have got a bit of energy back now. They won't eat until evening in this hot weather.

We have been to the Chinese restaurant,
Just got back , very disappointing.
It's usually really nice but I found it a bit tasteless tonight.
GS & Lucie enjoyed their meal but I had the stir fry veg it's the safest thing on the menu for me and it was rather gloopy .
Lucie was over the moon with her ketchup dispenser ,she kept looking at it and was going to fill it as soon as she got home 😁

I think we are all going to have an uncomfortable night , it's so stuffy isn't it .

I bought blackberries yesterday they were lovely but the ones last week were like yours very hard,
I bought English ones yesterday from the fruiters rather than the supermarket.

          Good morning.
Yesterday I heard it would be warmer today, I've just seen that they now say it will be a bit cooler.

Oma, what a shame you were disappointed with your Chinese.

I got up at 4,and had only been up 2 minutes when we had a power cut. Fortunately it only lasted about a minute.

We are going to Pontefract today. We love it there when its warm.

            Good morning everyone.

A bit cooler would be welcome Nan2. Hot and sunny forecast here, but with a breeze, which will certainly help.

Oma, how disappointing. Glad Lucie liked her sauce bottle though

I will be taking my bagged bottles to the carnival field by 11. OH will drop me off, to help carry the bottles to our stall and be because it will save me taking up a parking space, which are limited.
I have the day free, but hope to come back home for a couple of hours shade at some point.

Have good Saturday ladies and stay as cool as you can.

              Morning ladies
              Nanto
It was just to stuffy last night wasn't it,
              Enjoy your trip to Pontefract

              Gem
Hope it's not too hot and you get a break at some point .

I was up very early so I got on with giving all the doors and the kitchen cupboard doors a good wash down,
              Before it gets too hot.
B has just stripped the hoover down and washed all the components like the dust box rollers etc ,
It had a distinct doggy odour when he hoovered this morning.

Storms bed has been washed it's now out on the line ,
              It's his 10th birthday today 😁🎂🎉🥳

                Aww Happy Birthday to Storm!

I think that is the only way to get much done in this heat isnt it, early!

                  Good Saturday morning, everyone.

Nanto, enjoy your trip to Pontefract. Will you be eating out?

Oma, what a shame you were disappointed with your Chinese last night, but at least Lucie loved her tomato sauce tomato. Happy 10th birthday to Storm. It's surprising how vacuum cleaners seem to retain that doggy smell, isn't it. Well done to B for stripping it down and cleaning it.

Gem, the breeze will make the Carnival much more comfortable for everyone. I hope you get lots of visitors to your stall.

No plans for us today. OH has just gone down to the village for a paper, so between that and the tennis this afternoon, I think that's his day mapped out. I did take Eva out for a walk last night. By about 10 o'clock it was much cooler, and I don't mind walking her in the dark. OH watered the back garden and everything looks better this morning. We'll have to do the front garden tonight.

Although it was warm last night both of us slept well, but I can imagine how uncomfortable it was for those of you who didn't catch much sleep.

                  Have a good day, everyone.

Well what a carry on ,
B made a pineapple cake took it out of the oven to test it, It slipped and it wasn't cooked through so a soggy mess all over the oven door, shelf, and bottom of the oven,
He is now cleaning the oven . Not a day for that but couldn't leave it.
It smelt so good so he is attempting a second one when the oven is clean😁

I on the other hand did my ironing all 6 items,
I was dreading it I thought there was more,
Took longer to get the board and iron up than it did to do them.

We have all the windows wide all the doors open apart from the front door And it's still stifling.

I hope Gem gets a break from the heat at the fete.

We had a lovely time in Pontefract.
This weekend it is the liquorice festival. We didn't know that until we got there.
There was a lot of stalls selling things like soaps, homemade ornaments and the such like.
I didn't buy anything from them,i didn't want the clutter.
We couldn't remember if there was a stall in the market selling cottons, haberdashery kind of stall.
Walked round the market and couldn't se one. Went to go down the steps to outside, and hubby spotted a haberdashery stall tucked in a corner.
Managed to get the cottons i needed.
Daisy,we did eat out,and very nice it was too.

Oh dear Oma, what a mess for B to clean up. Shame about the wasted food.
I'll probably do my ironing early in the morning when hubby has gone to the car boot.

Hope Gem, isn't getting overheated at the carnival.

Nanto, I did read about the festival the other day! selling things tasting to Pontefract cakes!!

Oma, what a mess it would be with the cake, I don't think I would have bothered to make another!

I managed a bike ride this morning and enjoyed it, not done much since though, have a "fuzzy" head from the heat!

Just got photo's from France, they are loving it! The theme park was fantastic yesterday, today they are doing the chateau's and villages. I haven't heard how DIL is getting on at Wimbledon, she isn't keen on the heat at the best of times.

Daisy, take it easy if it is anything like it is here.

I was going to the opening of a hospice in the village, too warm this afternoon for me though. Very sad but a neighbour is going to be the first patient there on Monday morning, she has been ill for 3 years, it started with cancer of the lungs, spread to her brain, they managed to treat that, the lungs are bad again, her DH was telling me they rushed her to the hospital on Tuesday.

Oh Lizzie, sad news about your neighbour.
                          Glad they enjoying France.
Hope DIL isn't getting overheated at Wimbledon. Have you seen her on TV?

                              Oh dear Oma!

                              Ooh I love liquorice Nan2.

Lizzie I have had a fuzzy head from the heat for couple of days now. I'm trying to drink plenty of water!

Thanks for the concern ladies, it was very hot but I survived
The carnival went very well and we had a good day. I decided not to go home in the middle as we had plenty of shade. I will update more in that thread tomorrow.

                              Night everyone xx

                                Good morning. Sun is shining.

Hubby just gone to pick his brother up for the car boot.

We were sat on the patio about 5.30 having a cuppa, when a fox strolled through the garden as if he owned the place, hence the foxy graphic. We have seen them in the garden before.

Going to get some jobs done before it gets too warm.

Corned beef and onion pie, mash, took them out of the freezer last night, mixed veg and gravy for dinner.
