I hope your neighbour is OK, WG.
When we came back the traffic queue the other way was miles long.
When we got to our house GS had only one shoe. He had two when he got into the car. I searched the car, I got OH to come out and search the car. No shoe. Newish black school shoes. All I can surmise is that he kicked them off when the car door was still open. As he is not a baby or toddler, but a 5 year old I don't check he is wearing shoes before strapping him in and closing the car door! I think it will have fallen onto either pavement or gutter outside their house. No drive so we park on the road. It was snowing when we left. I hope someone may have seen it realised it was his and at least put it on their doorstep. He was totally and utterly unconcerned about this missing shoe. I think he just kicked them off to make himself comfy in the car Oma, but unfortunately I hadn't closed the door (he sits in passenger seat at the front) as I was putting my bag on the back seat. When I closed his door and fastened him in I had no idea he had kicked off his shoes and one had flown out of the door!!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning everyone. I hope you are all ok, despite the weather. It's cold and blustery here but quite sunny at the moment. I didn't get home till nearly midnight last night, and am just going to take Eva for a run before we go out for coffee and lunch. So I'll catch up later, but I just wanted to say I hope everyone is ok.
Gem - it amazes me how and hwere you often find just one child's shoe. Glad yours found its way home again.

Good morning everyone.
We have that same light snow covering Nan2. I hope you don't get cut off, but if you go silent on us we will know why!
Have a lovely lunch Daisy
My car is booked in for it's MOT and a service this morning, so I hope it's not too slippery out there!
This afternoon I am having reflexology. This evening we are going to friends for a meal, and for OH to help with some shelves not well anchored to the wall! We may go away with these friends for few days this summer, so that is on the agenda tonight as well.
Keep warm everyone!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Slight sprinkling of snow and it is freezing, window cleaners just been and they said the roads were okay, I am driving to the village to WI this morning. Haven't heard about the car yet, I will phone them today if I don't hear anything.
Pleased to hear the shoe was found Gemini, strange GS didn't mention it, head in the clouds thinking of more important things.

Morning ladies , same hear white and frosty ,
Dog has been in a naughty mood this morning , firstly he jumped on my just made bed then run off with my fluffy duster and chewed it before I noticed ,
He then got in the cupboard under the sink and did a runner with the hot water bottle , in for a lively day I think .
We were woken during the night by the door bell ringing ,
B got up and looked out of the bedroom window and there was a Police dog van parked
We rushed downstairs opened the door and the young police officer asked if we had a lost dog , we said no and he said this is Ashgill isn't it ?
No this is Buttermere !! he was so apologetic our hearts were racing by this time , so I said has the dog been hurt ? no he said we have just found it and taking it home its address is on its collar
When B closed the door he said why did you ask that ? well as we have been knocked up I wanted to know
After a hot drink to calm us down we went back to bed but took ages to settle
Never a dull momentIm not fat just 6ft too small

Morning all, white here too and freezing....
That would have been a worry Oma, the sight of a police man or woman at your door scares the life out of you...
I am trying to sort out Sheltered Housing for my MIL, don't know where to start, she has been really poorly in hospital since 7th November now in Rehab, been in there since 23rd Dec, now looking at her returning home middle of next week but she cant manage the stairs in her home and it is too big, so she has carers calling in morning and evening, she was offered more help but did not want it, so pretty urgent to help her, she doesn't want to go home...think she is worried herself, had a meeting with Social Worker and OT workers yesterday, so now trying to find things out, maybe should have been sooner, but it had to be MIL's decision and she just spoke up yesterday...
Sorry I haven't been on the ball and posting lots gone on last year, now things have settled, well now I have realised there is nothing I can do about things, I am now taking me time, so hopefully will speak with you all more often, just like the old days, without as much moaning...xxx
