Hi Pearl, nice to see you here

I'm sorry about the worries about your MIL. I hope there is some sheltered accommodation available for her.

Oma, what a nasty shock. Your mind works overtime at any knock at the door at night, and to see the police must have been so scary.

Thanks Nan2. It has passed every year so far, my luck has to run out sometime I suppose! They will ring later.

I hope the washing stays on the line Libra!

          Wow, Qwerty, what fun

            Afternoon ladies

Lovely to “see” you Pearl.I hope a solution to your MIL’s future can soon be found.

            Sunny here but cold wind.

Oma I suppose if police had found the right house the people might have been waiting for news so wouldn’t have been as alarmed as you were to see the police van.Still I think it’s odd to call in the night for something that could wait.I would have had forty fits if that happened to me.

Well, you'll never guess - my day didn't go to plan! We were going out for coffee and lunch to my OH's ex-employer's pensioners' club. It sounds exciting doesn't it, but it's only every 8 weeks and is actually very pleasant in a nice country hotel. So I took Eva out early - she needed a run - and got back at 10 o'clock just as the phone rang. It was the husband of the couple saying they had been playing badminton this morning and his wife, A had fallen over, landed awkwardly and was having trouble breathing. He was phoning from A&E! OH was all ready to go but looked really pale - he has this nasty cough and cold that's about, so I said did he really want to go. No, he didn't - he didn't feel great and couldn't stop coughing - not good for a social event where we are among the youngsters!! I've just spoken to A and she has a couple of cracked ribs. She was very cheerful, but it must hurt. Ouch!! It makes me wonder if all this exercise is healthy!

Pearl - it's lovely to hear from you, and it sounds as though you've had quite a lot going on in your family. I do hope your MIL can find suitable accommodation, but you're right, the decision had to be hers.

LG - you did well to keep washing on the line - it's very windy here - and cold, too!

Qwerty - I should think looking after 2 three year olds is enough to push anyone's blood pressure up! Perhaps you should both go out for lunch tomorrow to get you out of the house and a treat for OH. After all that housework you'll need a break.

Gem - any news on your car's MOT?

Oma - I can understand why the police would return the dog despite the hour because the owners would be worried sick about him - it's just a pity they didn't read his address more carefully!!! Your heart must have been in your mouth when you saw the police van outside. Oh dear, naughty Storm! I hope he calmed down.

Clover - did you manage a walk in that cold wind - it's bitterly cold here.

Nanto - that means you can have a day off tomorrow.

Wee Granny - have you heard how your neighbour is?

Plant - any news about your new car yet?

Afternoon ladies, Pearl it’s nice to see you back on here.

Yesterday we went to the butchers and brought loads of meat to fill our freezer. We didn’t stay long in town as I had a migraine. It wasn’t too bad when we left the flat but on the way into town I felt terrible. Came home and dozed on the sofa for much of the afternoon.

The butcher delivered the meat this morning and once Tesco has been on Friday with some veggies the freezer will be fit to bursting.

This morning I did some exercises with the aid of my new DVD . I can see an improvement already !

Daisy the problem we have is from the main road there is one entrance to three streets , ours is first on the left another first right and the one he wanted was straight ahead ,
It does say so on the sign post as you come off the main road but not many people read it , hence coming to us first ,plus there is always a car parked in front of our street sign so no one can see it
It happened again after lunch a Yodel van trying to deliver to us for the same people who owned the dog

Oma - Hopefully the Yodel parcel was a new lead for the dog so they don't lose it again!!!

Gem - well done to your car - good for another year.

Mimi - it's good to see you looking so perky and fit.

Neighbour's DiL came over to update date us. Neighbour kept in overnight, but came home this morning. She is tiny and quite bent, so her internal organs are being squashed together and she's having difficulty breathing, she also has a heart murmur and they've found a lump on her chest. So they have to be investigated in the future. They are a lovely couple and I hope nothing serious is wrong. Her OH has been diagnosed with dementia and he is quite reliant on her.

Otherwise, spent morning at a copperfoil glass class.....and managed to survive with no cut fingers! But it is only week one! We're making a decorative mirror, so I'd better start looking for some ideas before next week. Then this afternoon was a meeting re a Burn's Supper I'm involved with......no haggis for me as I can't stand the stuff!

Bitterly cold here, but no sign of snow, thank goodness! Keep warm ladies!
Believe you can and you're halfway there.
