Q I did something similar the other day, I was reaching for a big bottle of detergent liquid and it was up high. Being short I always look Round for someone to help but nobody was there so I thought I would just ease it off the shelf gently. Well you mow what thought did as my grandmother used to say??? I managed to get it to the edge Of the shelf and went to reach up with both hands and it came crashing down on me. I had a small bruise on my cheek so was lucky as I do bruise extremely easily, I was waiting for a black eye but it hasn’t happened thank goodness. I do think though I might have damaged a tooth slightly in the bashing as I can feel it when I bite but I am afraid I a complete coward and unlessitis really painful I will try to ignore it!

Oma - how lovely having a little one next door enjoying the snow! Brian's right - being able to listen to small children playing so happily is a blessing on so many levels. I hope your headache clears.

Gem - really delighted to hear the consultant has done such a good job. And you must be, too. Once the mammogram is over you can fully relax. xxx I hope your Mum is more cheerful - did she know you were at the hospital this morning? Just wondering if she was irritable because she is worrying.

Qwerty - what are you like!! I hope it's not too sore. I got a painful bruise trying to pull the rocking horse out to hoover behind it and it leapt forward and the pointy ears hit me in the face, just missing my eye! Yes, hiding in the cinema sounds good - and it will do you both good to get out.

Goodness, it seems as though we're all getting bashed in the face by one thing or another! Tizzy - hope the tooth is ok.

It was quite nice here this morning. The man came to valet my car (it had gone way past the level of cleaning I could do to it) and the sun was shining, and it wasn't really cold. He finished about 2 pm and as we stood in the sunshine admiring it, a few spots of rain spattered down on it. Then we had the hailstorm!!! Then I had to drive into the village and it's totally impossible to avoid the great puddles everywhere. It's a good job I still don't love this car! But it did look quite nice for about 2 minutes!!!

Plant - not long to wait for your new wheels.

No Daisy, none of my family knew. I did tell her I had been this afternoon, after telling my about the MOT. I like to shield and protect her but sometimes I think that thinking of someone else's needs and worries rather than focusing on herself all the time, helps her! She was pleased about my news, and in better mood generally. Also 2 friends she hadn't spoken to for ages rang while I was there which was nice. One is ringing back tomorrow, so that is something for mum to look forward to.

My DD2 said Sunday was called Suicide Sunday as it's the most recorded suicides of the yr.

Pearl I'm so glad to see you posting again. I hope it doesn't come to your OH having to move in with her. You feel as tho' you're stuck between a rock & a hard place, don't you?

Gem I'm pleased that you got on ok at the Consultants. It's a worrying time.

We've got GD tomoro' as her mummy is doing another 'going back to work days' after her maternity leave. She's an easy baby so not too hard a day.

Hoping you've all had a good day Grans.

                  Good morning everyone.

                  A frosty one here.

Enfys and her OH are foremost in my mind today.

Nana, have a lovely day with the baby

OH's younger nieces first baby was due yesterday, so that is exciting. I told OH if it is a little girl I want to choose the present. The last 4 babies in her and my family are boys. I am desperate to buy baby girl things!!

GS2 day today, and GD from school. As OH is in a golf competition I will have to wake GS from his afternoon nap and take him with me when I go for his sister.
Fish and chip night tonight, I have decided!

                  Keep warm and well everyone.

                      Good morning all.

Oma B is right, it’s lovely to hear the children playing. My dad lived at the back of a school and he could hear the children when they were outside at break time, he thought it was wonderful but a new, grumpy neighbour complained to him that they got on his nerves and the school should make them play more quietly. Dad said think about it, how terrible it would be if you never heard children playing. At best it would mean you were deaf, at worst, there were no children! How is your head this morning

Enfys, you and your OH are in my thoughts x

Nan2 , love the graphics. We can’t have fish and chips today as we went to the pub yesterday and had some there, and lovely they were too.

Gem, hope you get your wish and it’s a girl

it’s Tesco delivery day today perhaps later I can tidy the garden boarders up a little, well the ones where I don’t have to walk on the lawns. Mind you I haven’t looked outside yet so maybe I am being a bit hasty. Roll on

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

                        Good morning everyone.

It's bright, cold and frosty here. I hope the frost clear soon as I'll have to go supermarket shopping. Looking at the list it's going to take ages!

What lovely graphics - I was going to join in but my connection is so slow I'll be here till lunch-time.

                        See you later.

Bright and frosty here too Daisy, Waitrose for me this morning, nothing else planned. I live very close to the school I worked at and love to hear the children at playtime, they are very noisy when the wind blows. They love catching the leaves when they blow from the woods.

My thought are with Enfys and her OH and her family of course. I am imagining us all holding hands and forming a circle around her.

Hope the black eye is fading Qwerty

Lets hope for a girl Gemini.

Must get a move on, will visit again later.

Pearl, I don't know if your Mil is in a local authority house or not, but there may be a scheme where she can get an'old folks' bungalow quicker if she's prepared to move. My DD's MiL had a 3 bedroom house and told council she wanted to move somewhere smaller. A month later she had a lovely 2 bed bungalow and a family had her house. Might be worth asking about. If she's not in a local authority house, the just ignore what I've said!!!

                                Afternoon ladies.

Enfys has been on my mind all morning while I’ve been working.

Plant we too back onto the school where I used to work. I can tell what time it is by hearing the children at break time, lunchtime and hometime.

We’ve had some bright sunshine but also so really heavy hail showers.Really cold as well.

Having a quiet afternoon after working this morning.I have a book that is a real page turner so I’ll treat myself to a few chapters.
