Did you get the Christmas tree decorated Daisy?
    The cakes look lovely Nan2.
    I love that chair Zizi!
    What happy news Oma

It was a very mild day. My friend and I went to Betty's and had a nice lunch and cake.
Tonight we are staying home as OH has developed a sore throat and feeling under the weather. I persuaded her that us turning out at night for the long dark drive to her brothers would do her no good.

Ziz - that is one posh looking chair. I'd be frightened to sit on it - I'm sure you will be very happy with it. I wonder why they thought you wanted 3 though!

Nanto - those fruit cakes look delicious - I love fruit cake of any sort but homemade are best.

Oma - many congratulations to M and his Finacee. Does that mean you'll have to buy a hat soon?

Gem - have lovely, lunch at Betty's. I do hope your OH doesn't get the full-blown bug that's going round. Both my DILs and DS2 have had it and it really knocked them out.

I did get the Christmas tree decorated - all in silver this year. Mainly because I found a big bag of silver baubles without having to go through all 3 boxes of decorations. But then the day didn't go quite as planned - the washing machine went wrong again. We managed to get the clothes out and pump it out. I then did 2 more loads which worked perfectly! The service engineer is coming out next Thursday!! I'm not too worried, but it did take up a lot of time today. I did the dog food and made custard and jelly for a trifle for OH's wood turning club's Christmas party tomorrow. We're going shopping first thing in the morning, hoping the crowds won't be too bad. I hate having to fight my way round dodging trolleys and people who don't look where they're going!

                  Good morning everyone

                  What lovely kitties Nan2!
I hope B has a lovely day Oma.
Hooray for a break from childcare Qwerty! Much as we love them and feel privileged to be so involved a rest is good.
I hope you survive the shopping today Daisy.
I love this date Mimi, slightly lighter nights from tomorrow

OH was snoring quite a bit during the night, common when she has a cold. She does seem brighter and I think is planning to go to her usual golf this afternoon. I don't think she should really, but she says the fresh air will do her good!
I'm off to my friends house for coffee and Christmas card exchange. I am taking her a little cyclamen plant. I'm sure it will be better recieved than Oma's MIL's was!!
This afternoon mum and I are going to see my sister and take her Christmas presents. DD1 is going too.
On the way I will lay the annual wreath at my grandmothers grave. (Dads mum) She died before I was born so I never knew her, but my mum speaks highly of her. I do it for my dad, as he did this for his mum for as long as he was able, and I will as long as I am.

I have just come back from Tesco and you wouldn't think it was only a few more days till Christmas. It was so quiet in there. There was a few around the fresh fruit and veg but that was all.
I have an online delivery coming on Saturday but in the mean time we have run out of milk and bread and while I was there I picked up some cheeses DIL suggested I got as my contribution to Christmas . I didn't want to risk leaving it to my online delivery in case they had sold out. The thing as someone who never eats cheese buying it was a nightmare. I got an assortment so hopefully the cheese lovers will be happy. OH is salivating at the thought of cheese as I only buy him a very tiny piece every now and again as he isn't supposed cheese at all .

Still waiting for my black bin delivery but I don't mind if it doesn't come till after Christmas.

DD and I went to Asda this morning, it was also very quiet although we were there early. Also popped into Sainsburys and it was the same in there. That’s it done now, what we haven’t got we’ll go without ! Very mild here so it was nice to be out early and get everything done with not too much trouble. DH is banned cheese too Mimi, since his heart attack, but I have bought some tiny pieces as a treat and some half fat too. He is very happy 😀

Friends popped round yesterday for tea and cake and bought a big bag of apples, so I am making chutney this afternoon.

We went to Aldi for it opening at 8am and only a hand full of people in then onto Morrisons at 9am the car park was empty
Only went for a few bits , like Enfys what we haven't got we will do without ,
Want to pop to Asda in the morning not for food I want a couple of Bras I looked at in there but in no hurry so if we don't get there its no big deal ,

I'm tired today so a nana nap I think , I have cleaned downstairs and polished the kitchen tiles , cleaned windows and mirrors and Storms snot marks off my glass tables
Oh I forgot I bought him doggy festive snacks and doggy mince pies in Morrisons they will go with his doggy beer
Not that he's spoilt mind you

I had to take some gloves back that I bought for husband as he has enormous hands and XL are too small! I also had to go and have a blood test at the hospital next to the supermarket. Well I got ready, it is only a mile or so away, got in the car, turned into the road the supermarket is in and sat in the car for twenty minutes moving at the slowest rate in the world! I think the supermarket must be rammed. I turned around and came home. I shall try going to the hospital tomorrow. In the meantime I have ordered some gloves from Debenhams for him. He goes out so early for his shifts and this time of year it is usually icy. He had a lovely pair that I bought him a couple of years ago but he lost one the day before yesterday.

He is at work now and then going to Kingston hospital for his glaucoma check up. It was supposed to be Friday but they phoned him Tuesday to cancel. That is the fourth time they have cancelled at very short notice and with his eyesight being so poor it is important that he keeps them checked. A year or so ago they kept cancelling and then they sent him a letter telling him he had missed an appointment and lecturing him on how important it was to keep track of his condition. They said they had written to the GP as well who duly called him in to slap the back of his legs. I preempted that by writing to both the hospital and the GP with dates, times and copies of cancellation letters. When he got to the GP he hadn’t seen the letter but husband had a copy with him. He was assured multiple cancellations would not happen again.

His appointment is 4.30 which means he won’t be home until about 7pm. I offered to take him and bring him back but he refused. He said we would both spend hours sitting in traffic and at least if he takes the bus there are bus lanes in some places. Very frustrating.

Everyone has been busy shopping today, except me.
I had a large Asda delivery on tuesday.
We are going into town on saturday,so we will pop in Asda on our way home.
Will only need bread and milk i think.

Visitors arrived just as i was about to make dinner. So, dinner was a bit later today.
It was nice to see them though.
