I wanted to look at posts from when GRU began ... how do I do it please?
Oh dear - 4 pages of posts to catch up on. I'm not complaining - I love it when everyone is chatting on GRU, but time has run away with me this week - as Gem says, even Admin ......!

Nana - if you go to the main home page and click on one of the forums, say the Official GransRus Area, then scroll down to the bottom of the page to where it says "Previous" click on the highest number (7 for that particular forum) and it will take you to the start of that Forum. I hope that helps. I've had a quick look at your Media and am still puzzling over those 17 photos. Is your time ok now? By the way - I didn't find out what the helicopter was for, but we get a lot because there are several people around here who get 24/7 police protection, so the helicopters are out at the slightest thing - but they're not usually that large or noisy.

Enfys - I really love that family photo - I'm sure you will all treasure it. I hope you sleep better tonight, and you and OH can relax and take time to recover - your stress and worry levels must have been through the roof.

Clover - that sounds like a nice relaxed day.

Nanto - those pies look so professional, but I bet they taste even better! I'll join the queue if that's ok.

Qwerty - you must be exhausted! I really don't know how you're coping. I'm a really mean grandma. I've never allowed the GCs to have Play Doh! I don't like the smell, but an added bonus is not having to scrape it off the floor (or out of the dog's mouth!). I don't mind Plastacene (sp?), but Play Doh makes me feel queasy.

Zizi - I love your Pokemon cake and card - both looking really professional. I can't believe your young man will be 11!

Wee Granny - how disappointing about the curtains, but a good job you checked up. It's amazing how much building there is going on. We comment on it every time we go to Christchurch, and think it's good that the housing shortage is being worked on (even though it's probably not enough) but the infrastructure doesn't always keep up with the increased population. I must admit I hadn't thought about things like demands on services like making curtains, and fitting carpets, etc.

Oma - I hope you're feeling better today. xx

We had a lovely day out - coffee and then lunch with OH's ex-employers' Pensioners club (it's got a much posher name than that, but that's basically what it is) We had a nice drive to get there and the autumn colours were beautiful. I had liver and bacon with chive mash and nicely cooked vegetables. I love liver but OH isn't that keen, so I don't often cook it for myself.

Gem - did you get your minutes typed up? There's nothing worse than looking at your notes and wondering exactly what they say/mean!!

                  Lovely photo Enfys.

Qwerty, we all like a moan. It does you good,to get things off your chest.

Sound like everyone had a nice day yesterday.

Hope everyone feeling down and under the weather feels better soon.

Daisy re Ben - I know, with all of the scares we have had with him and how many times we have been put on alert that “this is it” (I often haven’t reported that) it is wonderful for him to be more “normal” than we ever thought he would be when he was born, he is completely normal in every way (well apart from his health). We took his cake, present and card around and he was delighted. He isn’t having a proper birthday party just Sadie and Joe around on Saturday for tea andleepover.

Busy day today, last day before hols. Husband is off to the local hospital for blood test in a minute, he comes home and I go off to the BUPA hospital for blood tests. The over ordered wall fire is finally going to be collected. Long story but Groupon said we had to take it to a post office as it was too small for a courier, they sent it by courier so why is it too small to collect? It is massive and very heavy. Have spent almost a month arguing with them and now they are collecting today. Also being collected is the really very nice curtain pole which turned up with the new blind addressed to us but not paid for by us. Then there is the rest of the packing (although mine is done), I have a 1-2-1 with my line manager via Skype and I have lots of last minute bits to finish up for work. Change bed linen as won’t have time to do it in the morning, clear fridge, park car up the drive near the garage AND BREATH.......

                      Good morning everyone.

                      Nice colourful graphic Nan2!
                      Holiday almost here Zizi
Daisy I got the majority of the minutes typed, but left some for today. It was the biggest attendance we have had and many topics on the agenda. At one point it all got very muddled as to which topic people were talking about and I was scribbling away! Those are the bits I didn't do yesterday, as I needed to be more awake to sort them out.

I did most of mums weekly shop when I was out yesterday, I have only a couple of thing to get for her on the way to her today. We are going to visit my sister this afternoon.
OH will be at a golf club dinner tonight, so it will be dinner for one, catching up with Greys Anatomy in this house

                      Have a good day everyone.

                        Good morning everyone.

Nanto - I agree, getting things off your chest is good for you. Here's hoping Qwerty has a more peaceful day today.

Zizi - I can't imagine what a knife-edge you all live on everytime GS2 is rushed to hospital, but he really is a little miracle and it's great to see him celebrating his 11th birthday with his cousins. Lots of winding down for you today, and then - yipeeeeeeeee - off you go. I hope by teatime you're sitting down with a glass of something bubbly in your hand, but if you're anything like me the night before we go on holiday is always filled with those last minute jobs I should have done days ago.

Gem - hope the notes make sense - your Chairman needs to sit on those people who go from one topic to another making it hard for the poor minute secretary to keep track! But seriously, all the work and enthusiasm going in to keeping your library open seems to be paying off.

OH has a friend coming round this morning to help him level off the trunk of my eucalyptus tree (sadly it died last winter) so we can make a bird feeder out of it - there are 3 main trunks so it will be more like a bird hotel/restaurant complex! that's how I see it in my head anyway!!! I don't know if the men with chainsaws will see it the same way. I'm meeting up with friends from college for a lunch and a natter!

Feeding the birds, more like feeding the squirrel population since we lost the dog and cats,

Aqua this morning, up at a ridiculous time for me. GD came in yesterday really exhausted, she had been on an early shift, up at 4.30 a.m. so she lay on my sofa and we watched Vera together. 2 days off to recover now, we might go to the cinema later to see Murder on the Orient Express. Had a phone call from my DIL yesterday evening asking if I would like to go to Cornwall (our usual place) with them next August, she didn't have to ask twice.

Lovely photo Enfys , get it mounted and framed as a Christmas present to you and your OH.

Hope the hospital visit goes well this morning Oma .

Plant we used to have a bird feeder in the garden of our old house but we have found that there are far too many cats around here for them to safely feed.

WeeGranny its a good job you checked up on your curtains , goodness knows how long you could have been waiting for .

We had a busy day yesterday doing some shopping and for some unknown reason we found ourselves in a pub eating another pub meal , that's twice this week, I'm beginning to think you lot will be thinking I am a complete gadabout.

Its catch up on the washing today but I solemnly promise no ironing

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Lovely photo Enfys! At least your DC look happy in a family photo.....mine act like teenagers and make stupid faces!

Have decided not to write to JL yet. Will wait until next week when curtains should be ready and if they're not, I shall put pen to paper.

Beautiful morning here but had to take neighbour to GP, so put off my walk. Now it's cold and grey and miserable, so I think I shall investigate what's in the understairs cupboard. I may be gone some time!!
