Good morning everyone. It's dull and cloudy here at the moment, but still warm. According to the forecast it's going to get cooler tomorrow, so I have to make the most of today, in case it's the last day I feel human until next Spring!

OH's eye is feeling much better. It's still sore and feeling bruised but the last of the bubbles has gone so he should be feeling less queasy and sea sick. He says thank you all for asking. xx

Gem - glad you had a lovely day, and well done to S - they did well, especially when you consider what a long day it was. Enjoy lunch with your friend and her mum. What are you having?

Enfys - I hope P is feeling ok today. How are you? xx

Scones!! I was inspired to try them after a discussion on here some time ago. Somewhere in our archives there's an account of my abject failure, Nana! I shall watch your progress with interest, and might even have another go!!

Enjoy meeting up with your siblings, Nana.

Not sure what we're going to do today. I'm trying to get my head round an idea for a painting, but there's no point in starting until I can 'see' it in my head!!

    Have a good day everyone.

Daisy, I made red pepper and sweet potato soup before we went out yesterday, so that just needs heating up. I will make some ham and some cheese sandwiches and put some crusty bread out. Our friend has lost a lot of weight, for health reasons and is still trying to eat healthily and her mum, in her 80's like plainish foods so hopefully this will all be ok!

          Morning ladies ,
Gem that seems perfect and something for all tastes , I like the idea of the soup and crusty bread and the ham sandwiches , don't like cheese though

Scones have always been something I am good at , B on the other hand I think its the only thing he fails at , they never rise for him ,
I think if you handle them too much they object ,
I never use a rolling pin I just lightly flatten them with My hand , never jiggle the cutter just a swift down and out and when mixing I use a knife till the last pull together of the mixture .

Been to B&Q get Emulsion and new handles for my shoe cupboard B managed to break one this morning and you cant get a match for them , they were only cheep plastic although they looked metal till it broke so bought some nice sturdy Chrome ones
Im not fat just 6ft too small

            Good morning all.

Gem, your soup sounds delicious, must try that combination.

Daisy, P is fine as usual, I feel a bit less stressed and looking forward to our gym visit this morning, Hope your OH’s Eye is better today, sounds very uncomfortable for him. Had a call from hospital yesterday and he is going in tomorrow to get the line sorted out.

Have a good day everyone, 🌞

A scone is one of my favourite cakes but I have never been successful at making them. Some recipes use buttermilk, must have another go.
Daisy, that does sound very uncomfortable for your OH.
Enfys, pleased to hear your OH has a date to sort out the line, try not to get too stressed.
Enjoy your meet with your siblings Nana.

I wish I didn't like cheese Oma. I like it too much.

Enfys, I think I put that soup recipe on the Recipes section once.

I could eat that right now Gem. My Pal and I have been on the best cheese scone hunt and I found them in Suffolk! I have the recipe but have not managed the same.😬
Another bits and pieces day, starting with cleaning the parquet floor in the hall with white spirit in readiness for treating. Lovely job.🙄
                    Have a good day each.

While everybody's been busy making (or thinking about making) scones, I've had yet another lazy day. I did do a bit of deadheading in the back garden, and then some weeding and more deadheading in the front garden, but that's about all! I feel very lazy!!!

Daisy you should have more lazy days!!
We changed the bed this morning, I washed the bedding and hung it out, then we had our friends here for a couple of hours.

OH somehow managed to put my laptop in tablet mode (I didn't even know this was possible!!) she had no idea what she had done and I couldn't get it right. Task bar all wrong, icons missing from desktop and lots of weirdness!! After tinkering and trying things for couple of hours or more I think it is back to normal.
I don't start messing about with her tools, she shouldn't mess with what she doesn't understand

Well, I'm glad I had a lazy day today! DS2 and DIL are on holiday this week, and they're taking the girls for two days of treats - just locally, but they'll stay in a hotel overnight - so we will be having a house guest - Cooper - tomorrow, plus a sleepover and on Friday. I think we'll be out walking quite a bit tomorrow to tire both dogs out, but on Friday we've got someone coming to sort out a broken tap in the caravan, someone coming to sort out the en suite shower which has broken, and possibly someone sorting out the bathroom radiator which is leaking!! I'm sure the doggies will enjoy all those visitors!

Gem - OH and I have very strict 'mine' and 'yours' with both tools and computers. I can share everything in my life with my OH, except my computer!!! I'm glad you've got yours back to normal.
