Enfys - it's great that P is so determined, but sometimes you just have to ease off and rest, and this sounds like one of those times.

Oma - I really don't know how you do what you do on so little sleep. It took me over an hour to get to sleep last night - like toddlers I get 'overtired' sometimes! - and then woke about 7 am and decided I wsn't ready to get up, so went back to sleep for about an hour! I'm doing salmon for dinner tonight, but will wait until it's gone cooler.

Plant - your garden is very pampered - but I'm glad the new residents are thriving. Goodness, I don't know how you keep track of your busy grandchildren some days! They're very lucky to have you around.

Clover - it sounds as though you've had a lovely day, despite the excitement. Well done for ringing 999 - it's too easy for everyone to think somebody must already have phoned, so better safe than sorry.

Mimi - I'm sorry I laughed out loud at your OH's antics!! I hope he's happy with what he's chosen!

My day didn't quite go to plan! Where have I heard that one before!! I took the BP machine back, went down to the hospital for the blood test. In and out within 20 minutes. Back home, and OH made a sandwich for lunch. Then he casually dropped the request into the conversation. Would I show him how to prepare photos for eBay? He's been talking about learning how to do this for years, but whenever I suggest it he finds something else more urgent to do. So we've spent the afternoon in his tiny study, baking hot, but I think he's 'got' it! I hope so, anyway.

I wonder how Grauntie's getting on at her posh do?

And I bet I know what Gem's doing - lazing by the pool, relaxing.

      You're right Daisy šŸ˜Ž
Lazing, reading, swimming, the odd vino or 2, and the fantastic food here. All keeping me occupied.
As I don't have to rush around doing anything, and have pool, parasols and air conditioning to keep me cool, you are probably all hotter than I am!! 😁

I am reading and trying to at least keep up with Chatbox. Lovely to follow everyone's antics!

Well it’s all been going on here.
As it’s so hot we have all the windows open but the blinds pulled down so I can hear most of what is going on but not see it.
I was sitting on the sofa drinking a cup of tea when a lot of shouting could be heard from outside. We didn’t take a lot of notice thinking it was just kids mucking about. All of a sudden a loud knocking could be heard on the front door so off I went to investigate it.
I opened the door and my next door neighbour was there and I clearly see that there was a problem.
ā€œHas your son got a blue audi car ā€œ he asked .
        No I answered.
Apperently the car was parked outside our flat but it suddenly started to roll down the hill . It veered on to the other side of the road and it smashed into a parked car .
Luckly ( if that’s appropriate) it didn’t travel very far or fast as it went in the direction of a bend which slowed it down. Had it been parked facing the other way it could have ploughed into the children that were playing there also it could have carried on it to the shops at the bottom of the hill.
It turns out the car belongs to my upstairs neighbour’s mother . She said she had been having trouble with the hand break.
I shudder to think how bad it could have actually been .
Both cars were damaged but the one the parked one has had a lot of damage done to it
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi, what a performance for OH getting new glasses, then the car incident.
          Pleased nobody was hurt.

Enfys, pleased hubby didn't push himself with excercising.

          Daisy,lemon drizzle cake is lovely.
Never made one before, because hubby not to fussed over lemon flavour, but even he sais it was scrummy.
It was actually a cake mix i used. Got a few in stock, to make life easier.

Good to see Gem is busy

Crikey, Mimi, it does all happen at yours! Thank goodness nobody was hurt - it doesn't bear thinking about what could have happened.

Gem - that's exactly what you should be doing, so carry on enjoying yourself. I struggle to keep up with Chatbox when I'm away, Gem, especially on my phone, but it's nice to keep up with reading about what everyone is doing even if you can't always comment much.

Nanto - can I be cheeky and ask what make of cake mix you used for your lemon drizzle cake?

                  Good morning everyone.

You will be glad when that check up is over Nan2. I hope the rest of your day is a good one.
Mimi, what a drama! Thank goodness no one was hurt.

                  Have a good day everyone.

Good morning, Nanto, Gem and those who are not yet here!

Nanto - thanks for the info on the cake mix. I always pop into Morrisons when I'm in town. Apart from anything else they sell off lots of meat and fish very cheaply on their expiry date and I pop them in the freezer for Eva!

I hope your check up goes ok - not pleasant but you'll be relieved when it's over. xx

Gem - enjoy another day in paradise! xx

A day round the house for me! I'm determined to wave that flat hissy thing around before it gets too hot. After that I'll see how I feel! I might just laze in the garden!! OH's eye is improving by the day and he's going out this morning to see a friend. Fingers crossed.

I hope we can all get through today without damaged toes, crashed cars, problems choosing glasses, emergency phone calls or any other dramas.

                      Good moaning each,
This makes better reading than any magazine or paper! 😳 You all lead such busy, exciting lives.
I didn’t go to the do last night as it is actually tonight.šŸ™„ The toe is still painfully there.
Yesterday our new sun parasol arrived. It is extra long to fit the table and chairs. We have christened it ā€˜Alice the Camel’ as it has 3 humps. (3 umbrella parts that go up as one).
Today we are smartening up the benches etc.
Oma, sleep beckons but you have to stay still for 5 minutes or more for it to happen. šŸ˜‰
                      Have a good day gels.

Sun coming through slowly, supposed to be very hot day. DD and SIL back tomorrow, interested to know how they found Anglesey. GD1's boyfriend arrived yesterday evening, nice to see him again, they have been together for some time. GD's were worried about a cut under the kitten's tail and were considering taking him to the vets today, I expect he hurt it climbing trees. Nothing planned as usual this week, just a small bit of gardening to do, need to get that hissy thing out too Daisy.

Hope the check-up goes okay Nanto.

Just off to hospital for scan, very hot here. P hasn’t eaten all morning so am taking something for him to,have after. Maybe we’ll sit by the lake at the hospital and have a picnic, if we can find some shade. šŸ˜Ž

Grauntie - sorry - I'm wishing your life away getting a day ahead with your posh do. Poor toe - I hope it doesn't spoil the occasion for you! I think G&T has excellent numbing properties. Grauntie - I think you've got Alice the Camel just in time for this hot weather, and I love the name!!!

Enfys - I hope you don't have to wait around too long, but a picnic by the lake will be a nice treat for afterwards.

Oma - what a busy birthday - but lovely. Are you going somewhere special for your meal out?

Plant - I'll be interested to know how your DD and SIL enjoyed Angelsey - so many happy memories there for me.

I have been waving the hot hissy thing around most of the morning but poor thing is exhausted and now needs a rest!
