That sounds like a wonderful performance your GD gave, not looked at pics yet.

Qwerty that was a lovely girls night with your DD. iced gems, your know how to live.

Oma so pleased you are having your GD for the day again, enjoy.

I did a bit of gardening this morning, it is scorching here. GD1 took me to a garden center to get some plants, not a good time to plant in this heat. I am cooking risotto for the GD's this evening, have some chicken left from yesterday.

Hope the hospital appt goes okay Avo, he will need a treat later.

            Love risotto Plant.
Tomorrow I might not be on much no change there then , I am looking after twins could be another scorcher , so mummy is putting the pool out, suncream, etc, all the dvds they have we can try and watch the odd one and stay cool inside some of the time, Virgin Media are laying fibre for broadband In out road so it will be chaos in the street so might be an idea to get away for the day, too hot to take them anywhere

Hello everyone. Apologies for all threads I am not commenting on. I will have a mammoth catch up when I get home 😊
We had a good day, mainly sunbathing (alternated with shade chasing) and swimming. We have powered through from breakfast with a beer each, a few nuts some fruit and Magnum. We are ready for our dinner now !
              Bye for now xx

Good luck Qwerty, trying to keep young ones in the shade isn't easy.

Daisy the Mass was lovely , small congregation as a lot of people are on holiday , but anyone who was there came to speak to us afterwards at the Graveside . DIL provided a welcome cup of tea on our way home . Glad it is over . DD1 and I spent this Morning with the Solicitor , he sure can waffle . The builders were here all day snagging ! So it was better being out , we nipped home for lunch then went to the garden centre

                        Aggie,pleased the Mass was lovely.

We've just been sat in the garden, having a sandwich and cuppa.
                        It's not cooling down much.

Aggie - I'm so glad that the Mass was a comfort to you, and I'm sure you felt very cared for with everybody coming to speak to you afterwards.

Oh dear - solicitors can go on a bit. I hope it's all straightforward, but at least you escaped the noise and commotion of the builders. Did you buy anything at the garden centre?

Oma, poor GD having chickenpox in this heatwave. I hope she gets her share of the ice cream to keep her cool on the inside at least! I saw a lovely idea for cooling dogs off today - a paddling/dog pool filled with water and a handful of frozen sprats thrown in. They love the fishing!!!

Qwerty - good luck with keeping the twins cool tomorrow. Same problem here with GD2 and Eva and Cooper!

Plant - it sounds as though you've just given yourself a whole load of watering with new plants to look after. What did you get?

Gem - sounds like the perfect holiday day to me!

Nanto - sitting in the garden on a warm evening is one of life's great pleasures in my book!

It's been a long day today with our early jaunt to the hospital, so I'm aiming for an early night tonight ready for another long day tomorrow. I just hope this lovely weather does last at least until Wednesday when I can have a bit of time to enjoy it - hopefully!

Hope you managed to keep GD cool today Oma, awful thing chicken pox

Daisy, I have been trying to sort out a couple of borders on the other side of the arch, GD2 helped me dig one and remove some dead lavenders and another under an apple tree, I just bought some petunias to make it more interesting and colourful.

Nice to hear from you Aggie, hope the solicitor had something useful to say.
