Good morning from me, as well. The sun is beaming down and it's already hot - the perfect day for defrosting the freezers before the dog food delivery this afternoon!

I've got some washing to do, and need to start getting the caravan ready for Wednesday. As always, I won't have much time on Monday or Tuesday so I like to get most things sorted before then.

I hope those who didn't sleep well can manage a nanna nap sometime today.

Qwerty - yes, I can hear you! You've done tons of housework - have a rest today.

        Hello

Oma glad you had such a good sleep.I bet you were surprised when you woke up to find it was a civilised time

Gem hay fever is horrible. People who sneeze once and call it hay fever haven’t a clue.Hope it doesn’t spoil DD’s party for you.

It is our village carnival this weekend. They are usually lucky with the weather but this year it’s exceptional.

We went for the paper as usual and the sea was so calm you wouldn’t think it was moving at all.Beautiful though. We could see right through to the bottom for a good way out as no waves.

        Enjoy your day.

Late hello, from me. Very very hot here..again. I was awake at silly o’clock this morning so was out in the garden by 8. Managed to get a fair bit done before it got really hot by 9.30. We have two little beds either side of our gravelled seating area which was very dry and stony, nothingngrew there very well. So I decided to gravel both those areas too. There not. It and I’ve managed to do one and it looks really nice. The hydrangea we have looks much better as do the few other plants. So a good job done. DH watchingmthe footie this afternoon and I am going to sit in the cool and either do some sewing or some more genealogy 🙂.

Have a good day ladies and keep cool 😎

My overnight visitors have gone my g/d slept with me last night neither of us had a cover on and it was sweltering , she kept moving up to me and I was melting it was like sleeping with an electric blanket and she was up at 7 I threatened her not to go into mummy hangover and such, but she woke grandad up demanding a large bowl of porridge, porridge on a day like this 🍚 so I was up at 7.15 😒
Enfys as you say you just get on with it but he seems a bit brighter today.
Gem hope the hay fever gets easier by the time of the party,

Gem - sorry I didn't see your post - you posted while I was typing. Have a lovely time irrespective of the football. I do hope your DD enjoys her celebration too. xx Poor you. Hay fever is horrible and in this hot weather you just feel even worse. I don't get it every year but this is one of those years when I do. I think it means I need to spend more time at the beach!

Oma (otherwise known as Sleeping Beauty!) that was a good sleep. Don't wear yourself out though.

Clover - It's around 30C here at the moment. I hope it's a little bit cooler for your local carnival. I bet the sea looked fantastic.

Enfys - it's satisfying when you do something in the garden and it immediately looks nicer. Enjoy your peaceful afternoon.

Qwerty - I hope you get a better night's sleep tonight without your cuddle electric blanket!

Nanto - has OH finished his painting? I bet it's drying quickly.

Daisy, where are you going in the caravan this coming week?
Oma, that was some sleep, hope you feel better for it.
Gem, hope the party goes well.
Clover, as I have said before I would love to live within reach of the sea. We used to have a village carnival but not enough support for floats. We do have a village fun run in June which is fun.

Plant - we're going back to a site near Lyme Regis and Charmouth. There are still lots of places we haven't visited around there, and if the weather's hot we are happy to laze around the site, plus there's an indoor swimming pool and a good cafe on site, two good dog walk areas and fantastic views.

The Carnival was very well attended. There were several very good floats plus an open top double decker bus for the Carnival Queen and Attendants. At the moment a band is in full swing for an evening bash in the marquee.( We live right next to the playing field where the Carnival is held ) Tomorrow there is a church service in the marquee where all the local churches participate together.

Late hi from me, as you can imagine there is always something to do in a house with children. Cleaning etc for them, ironing late afternoon and boy did I glow. 😖
Finally got 2 litres into DD yesterday, today being more difficult and unreasonable. But tomorrow is a fresh day as they say. Must admit be glad to get home to my own bed and the quiet. Typed up the 5 day plan T wants to accomplish with her helpers, got the clocks OT requested for bathroom and lounge to help with her non awareness of time. We are all keen to hear the outcome of the chief honcho in London on Tuesday and how we can all work to help her go forward. Oma glad you had a full nights quite an achievement for you. Daisy have a great caravan break, hope it cools enough to be bearable. Totally to hot today for me. Gem have an enjoyable party with the birthday girl. Qwerty did you watch the match I didn't but checked the score online. DD and co went out and I had a little me time, by which I mean I laid on my bed for 5 minutes and woke an hour later. I'm volunteer cook tomorrow roast beef and all the trimmings, home on Monday.

Well we have had a laugh all the cul-de-sac have been out in our PJ,s trying to catch a little Rabbit that has escaped from a neighbours garden , One of our other neighbours went and knocked on his door but he wasn't to bothered and said it would come back and just went back in doors ,
One neighbour had a blanket another had a big fishing net , but it managed to escape 15 minutes of being chased , It went through one of the gardens and onto the field at the back so we failed

Nanto - thank you. we're looking forward to the break.

Clover - it sounds like a proper village carnival, and they've certainly had good weather for it this year.

Libra - you must be shattered. You're an amazing gran, doing a roast in this heatwave tomorrow.

Oma - I hope the rabbit finds his way home ok.

Go little rabbit, run as fast as you can. 😉
It’s been hot and noisy here. All GC were here, pool out with slide in one end, great fun.

We had a bit of luck yesterday. A friend had booked a trip to Brussels, Amsterdam, Antwerp etc. culminating in an Anre Rieu concert, a hot favourite of OH. Unfortunately they are unable to go now, so we are going next week. No planes, Eurostar from Ebsfleet which isn’t too far from us. Seize the day I say! 😆
Sleep well all, Oma, see if you can do it again. 😴
