Afternoon ladies sorry to hear J is not good Qwerty, hope his scan goes well.
Enyfs hope P is feeling a tad better today, rotten chemo.
Daisy it beggars belief people leave dogs in hot cars, perhaps the guilty ones should be locked in a hot car themselves. I have a shell shaped rigid pool for my two, they love playing in it.
Gem how lovely to catch up with your DD, and pina coladas yummy.
Poor ladies who got little or no sleep I hope you can get Granny naps today.
Plant your little outing sounds very pleasant.
I walked my two early because of the heat, Till y could probably give it a miss, but the spaniel HAS to be exercised. I came home and cleaned down the fronts of all my kitchen units, one things for sure I am never having high gloss ones again. 😠 nor black flooring. I have a small amount of ironing to do later, then pack my case ready for going to Devon tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend ladies, oh and Clover we are not having strawberries today 😀 never thought I'd say it but a bit fed up of them now.

Another roasting day her today. P seems a bit better today, he’s moving around more and is chattier. I have done some sewing this morning, first time for ages. OH watching the footie this afternoon so might catch up on more crafting. Too hot to be outside.

Qwerty, twins look adorable, I can’t believe they are starting school.

              Very warm here again.

Went into town this morning.I needed a birthday present for hubby.
After having a cuppa at the cafe, i left him chatting to someone.
I went further down the street,to Peter Jones shop.
My intention was to buy a piece of Moorcroft pottery. We already have some Clarice Cliff amongst others whose names escape me.
Hubby has always fancied a piece of Moorcroft.
Unfortunately their shops have stopped selling Moorcroft.
So now, i'm trawling the net, contacting shops to ask how long delivery woul be.
I can't look on ebay, because it will show up in our account, and hubby will see it.

              Wish me luck.

Nanto - what a pity about the Moorcroft. Are you looking for a new item, or vintage? One of the other famous Art Deco designers of Clarice Cliff's era was Susie Cooper. She was designing for a pottery called Adams, which was taken over by Wedgwood in the mid-60s (I only know this because I worked for the Finance Director of Wedgwood at the time) and she continued to design fabulous items which Wedgwood still market under the Susie Cooper brand. There may be something in that range that would be more easily bought in time for your OH's birthday.

Enfys - pleased to hear P is a bit better. I do hope he's taking it easy though.

Libra - the pool sounds a good idea, but I bet as soon as I get one it will start raining - just in time for Qwerty's trip to Wales! Qwerty - at least you will know who to blame.

Qwerty - I know, it's crazy to be looking at activities in December on a blazing hot June day!!!! Oh, yes it is!!!!!

Clover - you do have lovely walks.

We (ie OH!) decided to call round to dS2's to borrow their Karcher attachment on the way to the supermarket. So by the time we'd had a chat, a cuppa, played with GDs and puppy, it was nearly 11 am, and surprise, surprise, everybody else had the same idea! Still the shopping is done, and we're putting off any more gardening until later this evening when it should be a bit cooler. I'm loving this weather, but Eva wants to be outside with me and it's too hot for her! That's my excuse.

Nanto, we were watching an old rerun of Bargain Hunt and they bought a very nice piece of Moorcroft. Daisy, I collect Susie Cooper. We have quite a few nice pieces. A few years ago they were quite pricey but the price has dropped right down now...fashions change but I still like them. I love the Art Deco style..

P has been taking it easy, but at least he feels better when he’s moving around.

DD has a kiddies paddling pool for Dexter, he loves it, sometimes I bring it over to us but it’s a bit awkward. I think we’ll have to get one to keep here. I could paddle in it too 🙂

                    Hi everyone.

I have quickly read though today's chat, but apologies for not replying to you all 😊

Another lovely day of sunbathing and reading, plus my first sea swim of the holiday (fantastic!) and a walk along the road for a light lunch.
I really don't want to go home, but I have 2 more full days, which I will make the most of 😎
                    Take care everyone, adiós!

Gem, enjoy the last couple of days of your holiday.

Enfys, pleased to hear P is feeling a bit better.

I have found a shop that sell Moorcroft.
Asked how long for delivery, and she said if what i want is in stock, she will send it out on Monday.
Must go and have another look.

Enfys - I love Art Deco style too. I don't actually collect anything but I have got a lot of pottery of one sort and another. I only met Susie Cooper a few times, but she was an amazing lady and a very talented designer. When I was at Wedgwoods I used to love going into the design studio and having a look at all the new patterns and shapes being developed. Pottery generally is out of fashion at the moment I think, and prices seem very low - but that's good for real collectors.

Nanto - glad you can get the Moorcroft for OH's birthday.

Gem - I love swimming in the sea - provided it's not too cold. I'm glad you've had the chance to enjoy that. It's difficult when you have someone dependent on you as you have - if you stayed longer you would only be worrying about your mum.

I seem to have been busy most of the afternoon, with not much to show for it - apart from cutting the lawn when it got a bit cooler. It's not growing fast in this dry weather, but a quick trim keeps it a bit tidier. There's more brown than green at the moment!

Daisy, our grass is more brown than green as well. It will green up when it rains.

Not a lot to do today.Youngest is calling after work.

Good morning Nanto, Oma and those who follow! Another lovely sunny day!

Nanto, our lawn isn't helped by being infested with buttercups and having a lady dog, but even the grass that should be green has gone a sort of dull grey-ish green. It can't be helped, and I don't water the lawn. Oma - there is that about it, but I don't have to hoover mine.

I'm going to prepare as much as I can for lunch on Tuesday today (thanks to all the helpful suggestions ladies). And I suppose I'd better push the sucky-up thing round a bit. Then this evening we're taking Eva over to DS2's for her first ever sleepover! We're going to London for the day tomorrow. My friend who usually dog sits is going on holiday tomorrow, and since we will be out from early morning until about 10 pm we can't leave Eva that long. I'm worse than a first-time mum leaving her baby with someone else!! I hope she's ok, doesn't pine, and doesn't keep them awake! I'm sure she will be fine, and she'll have Cooper to play with, but it's still her first sleepover!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone, and keep cool.

                                Morning.

Our grass is like Shredded Wheat

It’s a full time job just keeping the runner beans and sweet peas watered.

Daisy I hope you’ve packed Eva’s overnight bag ,not forgetting her teddy

Off to give the above mentioned a drink before the sun gets round.

                                Have a good day ladies.
