    Good morning everyone.
I hope your in laws are well Nan2.
    Have a great holiday Qwerty.

Today is GS2 day. I won't be collecting GD from school, as it is the first night of her dance show, and she won't have time to come here. DD will finish early and pick her up. SIL will collect GS after his tea, then quick a tea for us and over to see GD's show. It is on tonight and twice tomorrow. Friends and family are going to all performances. Only us and DD3 tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing this. It is an annual event, but as the teacher was involved with another production last year (her baby daughter!) there was no show, so is is only my GD's second.

    Have a good day everyone.

A quick hello before I head off to work.
      Dull and quite windy here
.I am waiting for a delivery of compost. I bought an enormous bag of it a few weeks ago and I’ve nearly used it all up.I do use homemade compost on the actual garden but I like the bagged stuff for containers.
      Hope your day is hassle-free.

Good morning from a sunny South. 🌞

must do do some cleaning etc this morning as we are off to our exercise group after lunch. We are both enjoying it and feeling the benefits tooso will definately be joining the Heart Club gym after our 6 week programme, I bought some sweet pea plants yesterday so DH will plant them this morning. We had loads of long straight branches from where he had popped one of our big bay trees that we was going to dump but I asked him to make a couple of “wigwams” so that I could grow sweet peas up them. They are in the “wild garden” (the bit at the bottom that we tend to ignore) so should look good later on.

I was reading something that Alan Titchmarsh had written where he was trying to encourage people to have at least one square metre in their gardens to leave wild to encourage bees, insects etc...we have our square metre + others 😀

It was 7 years today that DGS had his open heart surgery, how time flies. So good to see him now, looking so well, forever grateful to the wonderful doctor who first diagnosed the problem and the fantastic surgeon.

What a lovely day to celebrate Enfys How old was your GS when he had his operation?
The husband of one of my best friends had a heart attack several years ago. Like you and yours, my friend and her OH really enjoyed the gym sessions, Her OH then became a helper at the sessions for a while, and trained to operate a defibrillator.

Good morning everyone on another bright sunny day.

Oma - your bedroom looks absolutely beautiful - and the cushions look perfect. The trouble is I know ours would end up looking scruffy and tatty in no time at all, and they would have to fight for space on my dressing table on a bad day/night!!

I'm so glad I offered plenty of smelling salts yesterday - poor Qwerty must have had a terrible shock with Admin doing all that flat hissy stuff!! Mine's all done, - but I've still got loads of washing to do which will end up as another load of ironing!

Mimi - the hedge sounds a nicer job than the ironing!!! Your OH must feel the stirrings of summer in the air, buying new clothes!!! My OH has to be dragged kicking and screaming to buy clothes. He knows it's serious when he's only got one pair of trousers and he's just splashed varnish or something on them in his workshop and has nothing to wear to go and get a new pair!!! Thank heavens for online. I hope you find time to lounge in your lovely new lounging trousers.

Qwerty - probably a bit too late, but have a good break. Safe journey. xx

Clover - you can always find a corner for a few more plants. I love to see geraniums, but don't like handling them.

Enfys - how wonderful that your GS has done so well after such major surgery. Definitely something to celebrate. xx The gym sessions sound very good, and great that you can both go.

Yesterday whizzed by rather too quickly to get back on here after all that ironing. Did I mention that I did loads of it - and so did Gem. You will notice the edges of your screen are all neatly pressed now! We sorted out loads of stuff to go to recycling and then we went down to the allotment - I'll write about it on the Home and Garden area. Got back about 8 pm, very tired, cooked dinner and then started portioning up dog food for Eva. With going away on Wednesday, plus visitors for a week when we get back I need to get ahead with things. I didn't get to bed till nearly 1 am, but at least I then slept solidly for 7 hours!

Today I want to get out in the garden and enjoy the sunshine.

Morning all sunny but a tad chilly here, hoping today we have no mishaps. Yesterday I opened the washing machine and had a flood all over the kitchen floor 😕 tried loads of times to get it to spin to no avail. So ordered a new machine this morning, being delivered and installed tomorrow. DD went home with OT yesterday for an assessment, they said her cognitive signs are normal. Just have to put strategies in place so she drinks her liquid volume and takes all important meds. May be home in time for half term as they know I will be there and MIL the week after. Had an offer on our bungalow yesterday which was more than cheeky 😮 so declined and waiting to see if they improve on it. Haven't had time to read all posts but, Gem enjoy the show Qwerty have a relaxing time away all the rest of you lovely ladies have a great day. 😀😀😀😀

Lovely and sunny here, hope it lasts. GD1 is going to take me to the Warfarin clinic, then JL and food shopping, somewhere in the middle of that lot I will buy her lunch. At 3.pm I am going to a tea party for the village old folk!! got to arrange transport for me and a friend. I have only agreed to go as my friend is infirm and doesn't get out much. Very exciting news, kitten is in the garden for the first time, GD is following him around, he is sniffing everything very cautiously.

Thinking about Qwerty, hope she has a lovely holiday.

We have several overgrown areas in our garden too Libra, we found a piece of roofing felt that had blown off the shed. roof in the winter, there were slow worms under it.

Enjoy the show show this evening Gemini

Good morning all. Although the sun is out the wind is chilly .

Libra looks like you and me are keeping the washing machine manufactures busy ! A washing machine engineer told me there is no need to flood the kitchen if the machine won't drain, instead of opening the door I could get the hose from the back of the machine and then lower it into a bucket as gravity will step in the machine will empty . He was obviously over looking the fact that the machine would have to be dragged away from the wall and the hose pulled out of the drain pipe . Water on the floor seems the lesser of the two evils I think . Good new about your DD .

Oma enjoy the 5 hours or so on your own ,don't waste it doing house work. Put your feet up and relax

Just waiting for Tesco grocery to arrive and then I am at a loose end, first time this week !

                    Enjoy Friday everyone

Just noticed Tesco van has pulled up outside !
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Qwerty - the hotel looks lovely, and plenty of entertainment for the twins, so hopefully you and J will get some relaxation time.

Libra and Mimi - there must be something in the air with these washing machines!

Libra - good news about T - thank goodness. xx

Plant - another busy day for you. I hope your friend enjoyed the tea party. The kitten is growing up fast, exploring the garden must have been such an adventure for him. We've got several overgrown areas in our garden too. Probably more than the local wildlife actually needs!

Oma - I hope you made the most of your 'me' time.

Mimi - did you enjoy your loose end today as well?

Who needs more than two hours sleep anyway?

Daisy my ‘loose end day ‘ turned out to be another busy one. After I had put the grocery away I popped to the local charity shop to drop off some clothes. I had sorted out some items I no longer wear but I am still clinging to my size 10, mother of the groom outfit that I wore to DS’s wedding 16 years ago . If I ever return to a size 10 and receive an invitation to a wedding I have just the outfit for the occasion. Failing that I do have a back up . I still have my mother of the bride outfit, complete with matching hat , that I wore to DD’s wedding 6 years ago and that does fit .....just need an invitation......

Ladies I need your help . I am looking for a casual jacket, preferably in cotton, single breasted , not too long and lightweight. I have looked in town but we don’t have many clothes shops for women over the age of 40. I have looked in M. and S and Debenhams and that’s where I have come to a holt. Any ideas ?

                            Have a nice weekend everyone

Good morning Mimi, and all who follow.

I didn't sleep too badly at all, woke up at 5.

Mimi, i don't know if you like shopping online for clothes, but there are plenty of places to look.

Shopping today in Wakefield, but calling at the garden centre first.
Hubby NEEDS some stuff for the garden.

                                Good morning everyone.

Mimi, I would l have looked in those shops you have looked in too, and maybe John Lewis too, and Fenwicks, but the last two are not cheap. I agree with Nan2, I would look online.
I wonder what you will come back with from the garden centre Nan2?

GD's dance show last night was wonderful, we enjoyed every moment. GD was buzzing when we met them afterwards, and looking forward to today's 2 performances.

Today is OH's birthday. She will be a year older than me for a whole month This evening we will have a meal out with the group of friends who go out to celebrate each others birthdays. Today she fancies going to the coast. As the meal is booked for 6.30 and we want to come home first, we need to get off this morning.

                                Have a good day everyone.
