[QUOTE=Daisy;n100760]Oma - I hope DD is ok. Did she have the lead wrapped round her hand? Our trainer always says not to do that - let the dog go, but I'd rather hand on!! In difficult situations we use a harness and a halti with the lead attached to both of them. More relaxed, and we use a harness with a D-ring on the back and another on the chest which makes it much easier to control her.

Daisy she has a extendable lead attached to the D ring but she had it locked on a short lead , if it hadn't been locked it would just have stretched till she pulled him in, she does the same with collar and halti attaches both to lead '
SIL doesn't like the Harness he thinks as has been proven Storm doesn't realise he has a lead on and thinks he's free to run .
He will be doing the walking for a few days till she feels able to do it again , I told her you don't bounce as well at 45 almost as you did at 20

Good morning everyone. The sun is shining here, too.

Oma - I hope your DD is feeling better today. I hope Storm is more gentle with her in future - they don't know their own strength these dogs of ours, do they! I can't cope with extendable leads but at least you get a comfy handle to hold!

Qwerty - I hope you and J are ok after your tumble.

Ooooh, lemon drizzle cake - yum, yum, yum.

          Nanto - dinner sounds delicious.

I'm going to get the house visitor-ready today! Woe betide man or beast who make a mess between now and us going away on Wednesday!

          Have a good day everyone.

            Good morning all .

What a day yesterday ! It began with a sleepless night and then went downhill from there. On my way to town I could feel the start of a migraine coming on but I hoped the fresh air would help . ( Foolsih I know )
I took the dress that I didn’t want back to Debenhams and had to stand in a queue for over 5 mins before being served gradually getting hotter and uncomfortable.
I then went on to have another look at jackets but with no luck so gave in and turned my attention to a birthday present for OH but headache was really bad so I had to give up and make my way home
As I walked through the door our cat staggered passed me making a dreadful noise and she was drooling from the mouth.
I knew the vets closes at 12 on a Saturday so I quickly rang them and luckily they had one appointment left for 20 past 12. I rang for a taxi , managed to get the cat in and into her cat carrier even though she protested very loudly. To speed things up I waited outside for the taxi and it arrived very quickly but not before several neighbours had come over to see what was wrong and my one neighbour insisted that I ring him when I was ready to come home and he would pick me up.
By now the migraine had doubled in pain and discomfort with my sight being distorted The vet thought I was in a worse sate than the cat. She was given an injection of antibiotics and I have got some to give her for the rest of the week.
Her gum was slightly red at the back, the vet thinks she may have cut her gum on something and that has caused an infection .She has to go back next Friday for a check up
My lovely neighbour came and took me and the cat home and he said to ring him if I needed to take her back if she didn’t respond to her treatment.
Glad to say that within a few hours she had improved a lot but sadly I couldn’t say the same about me. I had a dreadful afternoon and evening. It was spent dozing on the sofa with the heating on full blast as I was very cold , it felt like the middle of winter to me .

This morning the cat is back to her old self but my migraine refuses to leave me completely.

I took a joint of pork out of the freezer yesterday thinking it would make a nice change to have a Sunday roast....not so sure now.

Oma how is your DD’s cuts and bruises.

Qwerty how are you , is your face bruised after your glasses dug into it.

The the sun is shining here so I hope that is the same for everyone, enjoy the day whatever you have planned.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

              Good morning ladies.

Oh dear, I go out for an evening and people are falling like flies!
Poor DD, Oma, she must have been very shaken and sore. I hope she is OK today.
Qwerty, how scary for you and little J too. I hope you are OK. My dear, I do think you are maybe past the age of running down a beach carrying a 4 year old!! Do take care, we want you back in one piece! Enjoy the rest of your break. Falling aside, it all sounds really good.
Lots of rain here overnight too Nan2. I wonder what your OH will come back with?
              Don't overdo it Daisy
It seems we would all like some of your lemon drizzle cake Nanna!

We are going to my mum's this afternoon. I am going to buy bedding plants on the way and plant them in her pots and baskets at the front of the bungalow, and along the border around the front lawn. It should be quick and simple job, but the soil is so clayey, it is like trying to plant in concrete when it is dry. I hope last night's rain makes it easier. Wet clay soil is still hard to work with, but better than dry. At least the pots and tubs will be easy! OH will do a bit of weeding and tidying in the back garden.

              Have a good day everyone.

Mimi - poor you. The trouble is crises never come when you are at your best and prepared for them! I'm sure the anxiety over your poorly cat made your migraine worse. I hope she gave you lots of cuddles to keep you warm. I thought it was cold yesterday and put the heating on - OH said it was 'boiling'!!! Take it easy today - you could have that roast pork tomorrow - give yourself a break. I hope Kitty is still ok. Sending hugs.

Gem - I hope the planting isn't too hard at your mum's. Try adding some horticultural grit to the planting areas - it will help both drainage and water retention. I know that sounds contradictory but it makes the soil easier to work.

                    Morning Mimi and all.

My goodness Mimi what an awful day you had yesterday. It never rains but it pours doesn’t it? The la st thing you needed after struggling to get home with a migraine was an emergency trip to the vets. Glad the cat has bounced back and sorry you haven’t been so lucky. I do hope you feel better soon. Do take it easy.

Also I hope our injured ladies are recovering. These things happen so quickly.

Sun is also shining here so a walk is our first priority then see how I feel re.housework and gardening. I have taken a Shepherds pie out of the freezer for tonight so just a few veg.to prepare .I made enough fresh fruit salad for yesterday and today so that is sorted.

Enjoy the sun if you have it and have a good day.

Mimi, I do hope you are feeling better, that was some day you had.

Sunny here atm, not sure what the forecast is. GS1 fixed my laptop, when the kitten walked across the keyboard he turned the wifi off, we were unable to switch it on again but GS managed it. Baby E was here most of the day, his parents had an appt. to attend. His mother isn't too well, picking up bugs from the children now she is back at work. He never fails to entertain us, not walking yet though.

Now Qwerty, no running on the beach, hope you and J are over the shock.

Nice weather here after yesterdays rain, a bit muggy. I managed to do some gardening before lunch but I am finding trying to cope with all the borders too much. I feel that anything my side of the arch is my responsibility so the other side, the border has got very overgrown, I wish my DD and SIL were gardeners. My DD pays a lot a year to go to a gym when there is plenty of exercise to be had gardening and for me a lot of pleasure. I paid a gardener to tidy it last year.

OH didn't find any antiques then Nanto.
