Oma, your dear dad will always be in your heart xx
Libra, I'm glad your saw the GD,s but sorry it was awkward.
Grauntie, nothing wrong with still being in your dressing gown on a Saturday morning! (or any morning if you don't have to rush around )

I have just spent 2 hours in the garden, mainly digging out an overgrown Hebe and planting a Hydrangea. SIL has cut my grass so my patch is looking quite good. through the arch it is a different story, will tackle that another day.

Libra, pleased you were able to see your GD on her birthday.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

        Afternoon all .

Oma you never get over loosing your dad do you. Sending you lots of hugs.

Plant its very hot for hard work out side today, don't over do it , there is all tomorrow not touched !

DS has just gone home after spending most of yesterday and this morning here with us. I have done his washing, cooked him two hot meals, fed him ham rolls and cake ( rare treat in this house ) , plenty of tea and coffee and the odd glass of wine and can of lager .
I now get to put my feet up till GD arrives tomorrow and I will start again with cuddles, food , drinks ( soft ) and watching some dreadful movie that she likes but as I get cuddles at the same time its fine by me.

Have a lovely day in the sunshine, drink plenty of fluids and wear sun screen
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Plant I spent about 20 minutes just hovering the grass and a general tidy and that was enough for me it was to hot to work in , hope you haven't overdone it 2 hours in this heat is a lot .xx

I love Pontefract cakes Nan2, but we are not supposed to have much liquorice if we have high BP are we? I think they are made of liquorice, but maybe I am wrong! I love it, and do have it sometimes.

Your son has been well looked after by you Mimi!

2 hours is a lot of gardening Plant, as Oma says. I hope you are relaxing now, with a G&T

We saw the scarecrow (really good) and few others but it was bit too hot to do too much of the trail. We can always drive round and see a few more. We had an ice cream on a bench outside the church in the village, then came back. OH watched snooker and I lay in the garden cooling off in the shade.
Off to B&Q soon, in search of cucumber plants.

Oh, we're only about 1/2 a mile from that hotel, Plant. What a pity your GD didn't see any foals - they are so pretty and all legs at this stage. We once watched one being born on the grass verge outside our house!

Gem - I prefer guests to be late, too.

Grauntie - I bet the South Downs Way is beautiful at this time of the year - especially in nice clear sunny weather - although I don't suppose your SIL wants a heatwave for his challenge. How far is the whole path? If your little navvies want some practice digging, I can offer them our allotment to get some heavy duty practice in.

Libra - glad you got through the visit, even if it was a bit of a strain.

Oma - sending hugs. It doesn't matter how long ago it was since you lost your Dad - but as Gem says, he's still in your heart. xx

Plant - it's good to get out in the garden, even if it is hard work. What kind of hydrangea have you planted?

Mimi - you've earned some time with your feet up, but don't get too used to it!

Gem - you can't win - last time the scarecrows got battered by the weather, and this time it's too hot!

Our visitors have just gone. We had drinks and nibbles in the garden, went inside to eat and then back to the garden for tea/coffee. So a nice relaxed day, and lovely to see OH's sister, BIL, niece and her hubby. Dishwasher packed to the gunnels, all the washing up done, so time for feet up and relax!
