All paper has to go in a box which is emptied every fortnight, so I take my paper to a recycling place but they have removed the one nearest to us as people were dumping anything there. I would not be able to put the shredded paper in a plastic bag to dispose of it.

Are you ok Zizi? Your posts haven't been as upbeat lately. Maybe you're exhausted & ready for a break.
OH never refuses anything that's offered to him. A couple of months ago he said he'd been given an industrial shredder. 'It's in the garage' he said. Well, I forgot all about it until I went in there....it's huge! Stands about 3'h x 3'l x 1' w. Gobsmacked as they say.

Good morning everyone.
A very cold one! I am envious of those of you who are heading off to warmer climes.
Present wrapping sounds a nice thing to do today Nan2.
I hope you get some bargains in Aldi Oma.
That is some shredder Nana!!
GS2 and GD day today, instead of Friday, as we will be away this weekend.
Their boiler has broken , so GD and SIL will change into their karate things here before setting off tonight and DD will give GS his bath here. OH is around today, so I can leave GS napping when I go for GD this afternoon.
Have a good day everyone.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning.Quite frosty but bright here at the moment.
Tesco delivery this morning then this afternoon I’m going to go to where I work to keep the disabled sister company while the other sister goes for a hospital appointment.C is unable to go to the toilet on her own as she is unsteady on her feet and walks with a frame. She also has a slight mental disability.
I must also do a couple of washing loads so I’d better get on.
Have a good day.

Good morning, everyone. I'm just surfacing after my usual busy Tuesday, made worse by the torrential rain, flooding and road works! But the sun is shining this morning, although it's cold, and I'm going to do a bit of shopping before I go to the hairdressers at lunch-time.
We (or rather OH) shred paper as soon as it's not needed. He's very good at keeping our paperwork in order, and we're lucky the binmen take a bag of shredded paper with the rest of the recycling. I think I've said it before - we're very lucky with our binmen.
I'll catch up properly later, but GD2 said thanks you for the messages, although I still think she thinks we're a bit boring with no proper games like Dr Panda, but she is only 3 ½!"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

I am working from from home today although nipped To the charity shop to arrange collection of the bunk beds, computer desk and glass tv table. We were going to give them to a communit furniture trust but on their web site they have a list of prices they charge to their customers and they are really quite expensive. Bunk beds from £80 and mattresses from £45. We didn’t pay much more than that brand new. Two seater sofas start at £100. Argos do new ones for about the same so I decided to give to a charity shop in the high street where the prices seem to be a bit more reasonable after all, generally speaking, if you are buying furniture from a charity shop it means you cannot afford to pay a lot of money. So I left husband to go in there as there was nowhere to park and drove around a bit, went back, no husband, drove around a bit more, stopped and called him on his mobile. No answer except voicemail which is answered by my voice so speaking to myself as usual. Finally after three turns around the block (a big block) there he was. Me “I have been calling you” him “oh I left my mobile on the table at home”. Immobile mobile phone as usual gggrrrr.
Have a lot of admin work to do today plus waiting for the new chairs to arrive which we will both be grateful for as the chair bed ones are giving us stiff bones. I swear yesterday morning there wasn’t a single bit of my body that didn’t ache!
Tomorrow I am also working from home, I have to get organised and delegate stuff for when I am away. Friday I am up and out early as I am going to a business breakfast hosted by the mayor of Camden (in the Kings Cross area of London) in aid of of one of the homeless charities I work with. Saturday I have a friend coming for lunch and I have my doctors appointment. Next week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday is bonkers with appointments and then it is off to Barbados. I havent done any sorting of clothes yet which is unusual for me but I have got all the peripheral stuff sorted (towels, cleanser, bathroom wipes, tea towels etc,) done and piled ready to fit in the cases.
If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Off out to lunch with my WI friends, fish and chips in the local pub. I don't eat fish and chips as a rule, just the fish but the company will be nice. then off to garden centre and chemist. Just had the hairdresser so hair looks quite tidy. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
