Yes I agree Plant, with his recent mishaps it could be a chainsaw massacre if he loses concentration!

Your presents sound lovely Qwerty and I'm glad you had a good night last night.

No carpet underlay laid at my mums as she hadn't emptied the very small bookcase in the hallway, and wouldn't let us do it!! A waste of b****y time! We stayed for a chat then came home.
Pork chops etc for tea later. OH is pulling a few weeds from the front garden and I am going to make a start on Christmas card writing. I'm sneezing today, but don't really feel as though I have a cold!

                Glad you enjoyed your meal,Qwerty.

Gem, what a shame, will you go back and try again?

Its been chilly here but sunny. DH had a walk around the garden earlier and went halfway up the stairs. Also made a cup of tea, he’s feeling much better thank goodness. We’ve also had a chat about how he is feeling about the op in January. His words - what option do I have but to cope with it and it will all be fine. I’m glad he’s feeling like that, makes it easier for me too.

Roast chicken is in the oven, roast potatoes all ready to go in, looking forward to,it,haven’t cooked much this week.

                Enjoy your chops Gem.

Oma - some years ago, my OH treated himself to a Triton saw and router table (no I don't know what it does, either!) and I think if the house was on fire it's the thing he would rescue. But it is a good bit of kit and he uses it a lot, so I hope B is as happy with his saw stand, and since he'll be celebrating two birthdays this year perhaps he should have another present as well.

Yes, I did take Eva out early yesterday - about 12 o'clock!! Things kept happening to delay me. Today was even later because we went to Sainsbury's first. Quite the opposite to Oma - our nearest large supermarket is 8 or 9 miles away, and Sainsbury's is about 12, so we don't just 'pop in'. We go about every 2-3 weeks, but we did well with the Nectar points today, so it was worth the trip. But the kettle we wanted wasn't in stock, although there was one on the shelf! It should be in tomorrow so OH is going to go back then. There was no braising steak either. In fact some of the shelves were looking very empty.

Enfys - I'm sorry you were have a bad day yesterday, but it's been such a rollercoaster for you this last 2 or 3 weeks it will take time to get back to normal. You're also probably still tired. Be kind to yourself, as well as OH. Good for you for being firm and getting to the driving seat before he does. Your chicken dinner sounds lovely, and perfect for a chilly day. I hpe your OH comes up with some good ideas and designs while he's getting over the surgery - it will help his recovery to have something to aim for.

Qwerty - what lovely presents. I like the sound of the Ribena Winter - I love Ribena or Rocks and it's my go-to drink when I'm really cold or have a cold coming on. What a pity the twins weren't well enough to go - I hope they're soon better. It's surprising how long it takes to charge everything up before you go on holiday. Years ago it was just a matter of remembering the travel clock, travel kettle and a few paperbacks.

Gem - how frustrating that you couldn't do the underlay today. I'm sneezing too, and have a bit of a sore throat - it must be cold bugs in the Admin office! Let's hope it clears up as quickly as yours, Nanto.

Plant - it's amazing how active 80+ year olds can be these days. A friend of a friend of mine (also a Guider) celebrated her 90th recently with a camping week-end party - and a zip wire, which she was the first on! The next morning she was leaving early to go to America.

Well, I'd better go and get dinner ready before OH - and Eva - sack me!

The people whose garden backs onto ours are in the hot tub. I can hear them!! Don't they know it is November, in northern England, and cold!!

My OH was quite a handy man but never got as far as making furniture.

Enfys it must be easier to cope as your OH is so positive about his operation in Jan. but I am ure it is there on your mind all the time, dinner sounded good.

pleased you were still able to celebrate your anniversary Qwerty in spite of some family members being unwell. Not long now before your holiday.
