Wonder how Gem is getting on.
Me and my sister in law took the decorations down for parents this morning.
Mam, wanted the cupboard tidying out where the decorations go.
Would you believe it, there was 6 duvets in that cupboard. We put 2 summer ones back, but told Dad he has to take the others to charity shop.
If the charity shop won't accept them, (some don't) we will take them to an animal shelter or dog kennels.

A frosty start for us in Hertfordshire but by the time we were ready to leave DD's the temperature had risen enough for the car to defrost itself. A sad goodbye with lots of last minute hugs from GD and GS! It was a smooth journey, thank goodness and we got home safely about 3.30. The house was freezing but I soon got the heating on,and made a cup of coffee.
It's back to Pilates tonight though it will be an effort to venture out but I'll be glad when I get there.
Gem you've been in my thoughts this afternoon and I'll certainly be thinking of you tomorrow.
Daisy, yes I did get a driving licence years ago but never got confident driving. I now realise I should have stuck at it but hindsight is a wonderful thing.I could never do it now, I'd be a nervous wreck.
Nana,ME must be a terrible illness, sapping your energy all the time. Pop in when you can.
I must start on the un-decorating tomorrow and I'm also leaving all the unpacking etc.until then. There's no hurry.

Nanto - I've been wondering how Gem got on as well. I hope tomorrow's schedule will go ahead as expected. It's amazing what accumulates in cupboards, but I bet a local dog rescue centre would welcome all those cosy duvets. Not all kennels are heated and some dogs shred their bedding, so the rescue centres need a steady supply.

Clover - I only wondered about you driving, but the roads are much busier now than when we were younger, and you certainly don't need your nerves shredding on the M25. I think it's my least favourite road in the country - only the A31 comes close (Libra Gran and Enfys will know what I mean!) Do you Skype/facetime your GCs? I know it's not the same, but better than phone calls, texts or emails. I hope you sleep well after your long journey.

Plant - Eva is ever optimistic that a walk is about to happen. We were out for about an hour and she had a really good run, then came home to a nice juicy marrowbone. Needless to say, she's now fast asleep. It's hard being a dog sometimes.

Oma - I hope you've enjoyed your restful day.

It seems like quite a few of us are having lazy days at the moment. I think it's the time of year when thousands of years ago, I bet our ancestors all but hibernated. They had killed all their fatted mammoths, dried all their roots and berries and hunkered down in their caves to wait for spring. Very sensible, and it's just what i feel like doing at the moment.

Thanks for all your kind wishes ladies.
The appointment started well in that we were early and I was taken for the preliminary checks straight away. Then we had to wait for an hour in tiny dull room, for the nurse. We were told to allow an hour for the whole thing. OH went and asked a few questions and then eventually the nurse came for me, Luckily we hadn't quite overrun the 2 hours we put on the car parking. We came home, quickly fed the cats, and went out for tea
I have to be in there by 7.30 in the morning, so you probably won't hear from me tomorrow. I hope to be back tomorrow evening, but have been told to take overnight things just in case. I will text Daisy and Oma when I am able then they can relay the message here, if they would.
            Be good without me!

Gem - yes, of course we'll relay messages - which I'm sure will say you're absolutely fine and will be hogging the fire in theGranny's rest with a medicinal tot of something tomorrow evening. Seriously, you know we will all be thinking about you tomorrow, hoping it all goes smoothly and wishing you a very speedy recovery. Big hug, xxxx

                        Good morning everyone.

Nanto - you must be looking forward to your holiday. Is it Benidorm? I'm sure it will be warmer than here! Do you have an ealy start?

Nana - make the most of your lazy day. I need to do a few chores today, but not too much. I'm quite enjoying the break from normal routine.

Gem - I hope all is going well. xxx

                            Also thinking about Gem.
I've just popped round next door to retrieve our door key as neighbour kindly puts our post in and keeps an eye on things while we are away.
Then to library to return books .There is a knitting group that meets there on a Wednesday morning which my GD insists I join as I don't have much of a social life.
This morning there were just two people there talking in hushed tones and as I don't know them I didn't have the confidence to butt in. Pathetic aren't I.
Have to try again another week or else GD will nag me.constantly.

The rest of the day will be spent catching up on chores but I seem to be coming down with the cold DD must have kindly passed on to me so energy levels are low.

                            Have a lovely holiday. Nanto.

Oma - same here. I cam online just now to check if you had heard anything, but it is early. I'm sure we'll hear later.

Clover - Shyness isn't pathetic - it's because you are a very nice, sensitive person who doesn't want to butt in. But the knitting circle sounds like a good idea - is there a contact number (someone must organise it) so you could speak to someone before you go. I'm sure they will be overjoyed to have another new member. Try again next week, when things are back to normal. I do hope you haven't caught your DD's cold - keep warm and have a lazy day. xx

Yes Daisy,it's Benidorm.Temperature there today is 18c and sunny.
Clover, you are NOT pathetic. I would have been exactly the same in your shoes.
                                Still thinking about Gem.
