Just managing to read this. Had my eye op yesterday. Extremely sore. It was a tough day yesterday as it was also my mum's 1st Anniversary of her death. Think it's all hit me today. At least my eye op's are over & done with.
Hope you all have a good day.

      Good morning, ladies!

I thought you would like to see this Sunrise at Sainsbury's this morning - just after 8 am. The dimly lit figure pushing a trolley is my OH as we LEAVE the supermarket!! It was worth getting up in the middle of the night for, I think, even though it now feels like 4 pm. But all shopping is done apart from salad and bread for our big 'do' on Tuesday. Poor OH is now stretched out on a reclining chair with his paper, nursing a headache. I just need to get a nice plant as a little thank you to the friends who let Eva use their paddock, then all done!

Zizi - many congratulations to Joe. I think all the best performers suffer from nerves, so he's in good company. The great thing is that he did it anyway, and did well. If you're worrying about your OH walking to work on Christmas Day, would it be possible to treat him to a taxi? I thinbk you've had enough uphgeavel in the home just lately, so it's best to put other work on hold for now.

LG your post about Shiloh's presents made me smile. I have a collection of presents for Eva and Midge, DS2's dog for Christmas Day, hoping they won't both want the same one. Yesterday I went to the door to take a couple of parcels off the postie and Eva went out and made a fuss of him as she always does. He held out on of the parcels saying should he give it to her then - it was a bag of squeaky vinyl balls and she was so excited! But she has to wait for Christmas Day! What a meanie I am!

Nanto - it sounds like a nice relaxing day for you.

Gem - Once the Asda trip is over you will have a lovely day, with some of your favourite people, a nice pizza, the pantomime, and perhaps best of all a willing chauffeur. I hope the weather isn't too bad.

Nana - I'm so glad your eye op is over and done with. The first 48 hours are the worst, aren't they, so hopefully you will soon start to feel better. No wonder you're feeling a bit down though. All the 'firsts' are hard when you've lost someone close to you, but it's even more poignant with her anniversary being so close to Christmas. Be kind to yourself and try and think about all the years of good times with your Mum.

        Big hug. xx

Sending love Nana, first anniversaries are difficult, and the proximity to Christmas makes it worse. Good to know your eye op is over and done with. I hope the soreness soon wears off.
Zizi, it sounds as though your GS did very well.
Congratulations on that early start Daisy!
Not seen anything of Oma today so hoping she is OK.

Asda blood taking was wonderful! No queue at all. In fact one of the blood taking ladies was idling about in the clothes section. I asked if she was looking for customers and she said yes! We got straight in straight out. Hairdresser phoned and asked if she could come 45 minutes early, so it all worked well
While we were having our hair trimmed a lovely bouquet of Christmas flowers arrived for us both! From J, one of OHs golf friends, thanking us for all our support of her in 2016. So kind and unexpected!
The storm is forecast to be worst when mum and I will be on the road to and from my sister so OH will definitely drive us. She is a a very experienced confident driver with a more solid car.

Keep safe in the storm ladies

Glad the performance went well, Zizi and it sounds as if you have good plans made for Christmas.

DD and I went out v,early (7.30) to the supermarket this morning. Lovely sunrise and not too busy. So that's it, no more shopping. I was home just after 9 and that was after stopping at her house to unload and have a coffee. Tidying up and cleaning done so I am planning a lazy afternoon with my crochet and watching some recorded programmes.

thanks for asking Mimi, my cold sore didn't develop and went away very quickly thank goodness.

Just heard that DgD will be home at tea time on Boxing Day as she only has to work until lunchtime and she isn't going back until 29th, so pleased. There will 8 of us at DDs for Boxing Day so lots of games planned and plenty of food organised.

Well went to Iceland this morning thinking it would be in and out well didn't exactly go to plan , got to two people in front of me in the queue and the Tills went down due to overload , after 15 minutes they started again got served just about to go to Sainsburys for last couple things and my phone goes , It was Brian saying Hospital had phoned he had to go for a infusion as his Kidney tests had came back and they were border line , so I headed home phoning DD on the way to take us in , she had been called into work but came within 20 minutes , Takes 30 minutes to get to hospital then he was on the drip for 2 hours by time got back home I had a headache and I still have lots to do , I will have to get as much done as I can in morning as after lunch his Brother is coming and bringing MIL . I have decided what doesn't get done is tough as long as basics are done that will have to do ,
Stye on eye no bigger but itching so I'm hoping it fizzles out and doesn't get bigger tomorrow ,

Eldest son brought me a BIG bunch of flowers today, had to split them up into 3 vases.
Was going to post a couple of photos today, but for some reason i can't transfer photos to PC. Will try on the laptop later.

Oma - You're not having much luck with your shopping this week! I hope B is feeling ok after his treatment. Your DD is a star, isn't she! Try and turn a blind eye (the scabby one!) to the housework for a few days and give yourself a break. You must be exhausted.

Nana - I hope you've got through today ok - it's such a difficult time. How is your eye now? Is your vision better?

Enfys - we beat you! We arrived at the supermarket just after 6.30 am - and there were people coming out already with their shopping! It was worth the effort though as it got very busy while we were there. I got a little olive tree for the friends with the paddock. The wife is a keen gardener and my OH suggested she nurtured it and grew it on, and then her OH (who's also a wood turner) could chop it down and turn it! We gave Eva a good run round - the was quite excited because of the wind - and then our friends invited us in for a cuppa and warm home-made mince pies with brandy butter. Yum! So I didn't get round to doing my baking this afternoon, and was too tired tonight. So tomorrow will be baking day, while OH finishes wrapping presents, and delivering local cards. How lovely that your GD will be home for Boxing Day afternoon.

Nanto - the flowers sound lovely - what a thoughtful son. I'd love to see the photos if you can upload them. If they're taken on your phone you can always email them to yourself if they still won't transfer.

Gem - how was the panto? Did GD enjoy it?

Good morning everyone, and Merry Christmas Eve!

I'm glad you eye is not too bad Oma. Take it easy today!
                        That's a pretty picture Nan2.

The pantomime was good, but poorer for the lack of Martin Barrass, in recovery from serious accident. It is a tradition for the Dame to throw out Wagon Wheels into the audience. To catch one of those is a coveted prize. People can go to pantos their whole lives and never get one. GD has been to 2 pantos and got a Wagon Wheel each time! Lucky girl
Unfortunately in the interval of last night performance a lady was taken ill on the front row of the dress circle. We were on row B slightly to her left. First aiders couldn't bring her round so eventually paramedics arrived and in the end they managed to lift her and strap her to a carrying chair and get her out to the ambulance. A sad end to that families panto night, which they will have booked for in March. I hope she is OK.

This morning OH went to collect our turkey and I at last, put the marzipan on the cake in preparation for icing. DD3 and OH are coming round this afternoon to exchange presents and have a cuppa with us. Apart from that a lovely lazy day at home for us
We are invited to my ex's open house again but decided not to go this year. It is a long drive on a dark night.

                          Morning all.

Nana how are your eyes. Those first 'anniversaries' are hard I know especially at this time of the year.
                          Oma how is B
                          How is everyone else
The storm yesterday wasn't too bad, we were lucky but other parts of the country wasn't as lucky. Hope none of our ladies were effected by it. Its still windy here but as I've got some washing out at the moment I am hoping it will dry it.
The postman has just arrived with the last few Christmas cards along with a letter from the hospital for an appointment for my MRI scan on my hip and back. The appointment is for the 9th of Jan so I am not having to wait as long as I thought I would have.
                          Enjoy Christmas Eve everyone.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Morning all Oma an old tip is to rub your eye with your gold wedding ring, busy busy, walked dog, choc cake in oven, truffle mixture cooling in the fridge. If I dont get back on a merry Christmas to one and all. Oh yes cold still lingering but better than it was.

Feeling a bit lazy today, late night, family next door had a large family get-together, DD made huge amount of chili, much appreciated by the family. I contributed mulled wine and loads of mince pies. All the children are home, lovely to see GD from Canada home for Christmas, she is very lively, fun and very cuddly. Quiet day today, eating out tomorrow and DS's on Boxing Day.

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas.
