I think it is coming up to Diwali which usually comes around Guy Fawkes night and goes on for flipping ever! I used to make my old boy Georgie a nest under my bed and put the duvet hanging down by the window side of the bed and second one on top to shield him from the lights and the bangs. To be honest toward the end he was mostly deaf and his eyesight was pretty rubbish but he knew as soon as I started making the bed that it was for him. I still miss him.
There were fireworks round by us on Friday night! I suppose that will keep happening until after 5 November now! Fortunately, Clyde didn't bother, but generally he doesn't like them and we try and keep him in the living room with all the curtains drawn. Rusty didn't mind them at all - like you with George, Zizi, I still miss him.

I didn't get my lie in this morning despite the clocks going back. Nobody explained it to Clyde, so he was up at 6.30 GMT because for him it was 7.30. How do you explain our stupid messing about with the clock to a pet, or a baby! But as I stumbled round the kitchen, half asleep, I came up with the interesting scenario where the second of a pair of twins could be younger than the first! If the first was born at, say, 1.55 am on the Sunday when the clocks go back, and the second arrived say 10 minutes later the second one's time of birth would be 00.10. Mad, isn't it!!

LG - I hope you feel better soon. Good to hear you're taking care of yourself , and in any case, you wouldn't want to pass your lurgy on to your residents. xx

Good morning all. How many of us have breakfast in bed. I can count on one hand in 41 years of marriage how many times I have !
We have got our two eldest GC today so they will be here soon so I'd better get up I suppose, oh yes , and get some breakfast !
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

I have breakfast in bed once, in 47 years of marriage. It was the morning our eldest was born(at home).

To be honest, I prefer to sit at the table, wouldn't be comfortable having breakfast in bed.

If I lived on my own I think I would! I'd feed the cats, get book, or tablet, radio or i playe , go back upstairs and have a lovely relaxing breakfast in bed

My OH brings me breakfast in bed every morning. I prop myself up with pillows, turn on the TV, (a chance to catch up with the news) then I eat my breakfast at leisure. He's a love.

Mornin Nan2. When OH brought me my breakfast he looked out of the bedroom window. I thought he was checking the weather. I said 'Well?'. He said 'I'm just checking there's not a line of Grans out there waiting for their breakfast'. 😂
