Nothing on my mind apart from we were having eldest g/d for the w/e eldest seems quite old but she is only five, DD was looking forward to doing some xmas shopping and a Sunday morning lie in, but early afternoon LO had tummy pains and was eventually sick, of course by this time only mum will do . Called her to come and pick her up as there was no consoling her best laid plans eh

Qwerty I hope GD is better now. You are right , sometimes only mum will do.

I'm itching to do some Christmas shopping but I'm holding back until it gets a bit closer to Christmas, by then I might have some sort of clue what I am going to buy everyone. I certainly won't be talking part in the 'Black Friday ' kerfuffle that is supposed to be happening sometime soon. Remember last year ?

Good morning ladies. It's dull and overcast here, but at least it's not raining for the Remembrance Day parades.

Qwerty - you need a quiet day with your feet up, although I'm sorry GD1is poorly. Hopefully she will have bounced back by now.

Mimi - I'm sure your niece and her OH will be ok, although hopefully their hotel have let them stay on there and it's just a matter of waiting for news of their flight. It must be a logistical nightmare for the airlines, holiday companies, hotels, and everybody caught up in it, but better to be a few days late getting home in safety.

What's all this rush to do Christmas chopping? It's only the end of the first week in November. My one concession is anything I need to post abroad - not even I can get round foreign last dates for posting!!!

Not a good weekend for us . Both struck down with D & V so feeling very fragile. DH was worse than me and looked dreadful last night but seems a bit better this morning. It's a worry when he gets this as it's a struggle keeping his sugar levels right but so far he's been ok. I'm still in bed but I can hear him making a cuppa so hopefully he is on the mend. A lazy day for us

Hope you both feel better soon Enfys.

Last night we went to an organised bonfire display. The fireworks were the best we have ever seen. They lasted 17 minutes but were continuous.Colours were beautiful. It cost us £19 to get in, £4 adults and £3 for children. All profits were going to a local hospice and somewhere else, but didn't catch what he said.

Going to order quite a few Christmas presents later on the net.Got my list ready.

Qwerty, I hope you sleep better tonight!
Enfys, take it easy as you both recover from your bug.

Raining here again. A day at home is planned.

I had a message from my niece this morning, she is still waiting to hear when she can fly home.

My DD sent me a snippet of her conversation with my 5 year old GS .

                  GS......"Mummy I want to be a chef when I grow up "

Mummy ... "Thats nice, why do you want to be a chef"

GS ......"Because i want to do cheffing "

I have read that some holiday makers (Egypt) have returned to their hotels and are treating like an extended holiday. I am sure they will be well looked after and they are going to be much safer as the Egyptians will be keeping them safe to try to retain their tourist industry. I wonder if the Tunisian thing and this Egyptian thing is the start of a campaign against holiday destinations with the Isis strange idea of religion? I was speaking to our holiday rep and she said that all the holiday companies and the tourist board have regular security meetings and the staff at the hotels are given training in spotting unusual behaviour so they are alert and aware.

If you get stranded on holiday there's not much you can do except wait, so you might as well treat it as an extended holiday! I feel very sorry for the people working in the Egyptian tourist industry because this is going to hit them very hard.

It looks as though airport security will have to get much tighter to give people the confidence to fly.

Good morning all . The latest message I had from my niece this morning is that they are still waiting for news of a flight home . In the papers this morning is reports of British holiday makers waiting for flights home having to stay in a hotel that is a health risk. Cockroaches have been seen , food covered in flies etc .
My niece has conformed that it's true, they were sent to that hotel but they have gone back to their original hotel, although it means they are having to pay more she said they didn't want to risk their health on top f everything else.

It's windy here this morning but at least it isn't raining.
