      Good Friday morning everyone.

I'm screaming with frustration as our internet connection this morning is so slow I can't even do a speed test on it. The fibre to the property is now tantalisingly close, but we're still waiting. In the meantime, every time it rains hard our connection goes haywire!

I'll hopefully be back later. xx

Yes, Lizzie, it has been slow. I got on quickly just now though.

Daisy, are you sure it isn't the site as it is so slow for me at the moment.

It's all working ok, now. I'd tried two different browsers and both were so slow I gave up. But whatever it was seems ok - our internet's as fast as it ever is.

I've had a morning baking - a birthday cake for OH and a gluten-free chocolate cake. I'll make some flapjack tonight, but need to take Eva for a quick walk now. OH is going out, so there's only me to cook for!

J has had his operation. They took him into recovery about an hour ago.
The nurse said considering what he has had done,he is looking good.
Just need to wait for the results now.

We had a lovely couple of hours with sister in law and her hubby at their house.
Washing dried while we were out.

Daisy, frustrating when your internet isn't playing ball.
                    Baking sounds scrummy.

Oma, hope B gets sorted at the dentist.

It's turned cold and wet here, so decided not to go to the shops. Got enough to last me until tomorrow!

Phone call this morning, bedroom furniture being delivered on 25th and fitted on 27th/28th. Really looking forward to having proper wardrobes instead of rails and getting my clothes all in one place.

For the December meeting of the Ladies Group a choir is coming to sing festive songs. The powers that be were talking about how they could get more people to come to the concert. I suggested the use the local Village association on Facebook to advertise and invite people to join them for the afternoon! I thought I'd used a rude word....nobody uses FB, it's dangerous etc etc. The lady next to me said I bet you wish you'd never mentioned it!!! Anyway, in the next breath, I'm being asked to join the committee and do the publicity! I hope I shook my head often enough to get the message through. Other groups use the village association page to reach people, so I can't really understand the reluctance to use it. And one of them spoiled the magic trick of the fiver in the orange, it felt like being told there's no Santa Claus

I miss my hedgehogs from my previous garden Sadly they can't get into this one and I need to buy a new bird feeder as the other one has lost the bottom bit of the pole and won't stand in the ground.

It seems to be clearing up now, so I may go and have a wander to get some fresh air.

Hope everyone has a good evening xx

Nanto...hope results for GD1's OH come back clear.

                        Just catching up!

WeeGranny, you are a well-equipped artist. I wouldn't have a clue what to take, and haven't got pens, good pencils or the different sorts of paper! But it sounds very interesting and enjoyable. I'd love to see your finished drawing. I love watching table magicians - the ones who go round and work really close to the audience, and still baffle me. You've done a lot to your new house in a short time, but getting the heating sorted out must be one of the best things with winter approaching. Just reading your post from this afternoon - naughty lady spoiling the £5 and orange trick! We know it's a trick, but it's nice to have the mystery of exactly how it was done. Oh dear, it sounds as though the Ladies Group could do with some help getting this choir advertised. But I don't blame you not wanting to take on the role of Publicity Officer.

Nanto, thank goodness GD1's OH's operation went well. I hope he makes a good recovery and gets the all clear as well. Thanks for the reminder about the postal strike. I'd better get myself organised. Spending some time with your SIL and her hubby helps to take your mind off the operation.

Gem, nice to have a break from the school run drive. Your garden birds and hedgehogs are very well looked after. You've had a busy day!

I've felt much better today, thank you, everyone. We've got all the family apart from GSs coming for lunch tomorrow so I'm going to get veg prepared etc tonight while OH is out. It's a delayed birthday celebration for OH, and I've made him a cake!

Hallo everyone, I seem to have been busy all day! I was sewing then went to the place where I do voluntary work, we were invited to go for coffee, cake and a chat, of the 350 there were about 30 of us turned up, I enjoyed it though, I was chatting to a nice lady next to me then to a man that does the computer help on a Tuesday morning, I am going to take my old laptop on Tuesday and he will have a look at it for me, I don't think it will help as it seems to have just passed away!

Then GD1 phoned and asked if she could come after school, she has just gone home on her bike, I said I would treat her to a poke (sushi) bowl, we walked to the village and got them then came back and enjoyed our meal. We walked through the shops and she showed me what she liked, a denim jacket with the sleeves cut out to make a body warmer of it, only €120, so, I told her I had exactly the same jacket in my wardrobe that she could have, she had it once as an oversize jacket, now I am going to cut the sleeves out for her. I said to her "what a price"!

Daisy, I read your post about the kit-kat, I did read that they were using other wrappers, also for the Quality Sreet.

WG, you do keep yourself active, a very good thing, keeping occupied, I was talking to a lady this afternoon, she was saying it is important to keep active. How dare you mention Facebook!!!!!

Nanto, I do hope that the operation went well and that J is now recovering.

Gem, enjoy the evening with GS2.

Oma, I hope that B managed to get his tooth sorted out, I have heard from other people with the same problems after they have had chemo.

GD visiting at the hospital now. Will update us later.
She says Tommie was ok today, until it started getting dark.
Then he started looking round,as if to say where's my dad.

Daisy,so pleased you have felt better today.

WG, you are certainly fitting in with your community.
Didn't take them long to get you on the committee.

Lizzie, how nice to out and enjoy coffee and cake.

Nanto......I'm not on the committee and I have no intention of going on it!!! Am happy to help in whatever way I can but not in an official capacity! Mind you I think they could do with a bit of a shake up. The same ladies seem to be involved in all the things that go on in the village and have done so for years!

Lizzie, I have washed my mouth out with soap and promise never to raise the name of that social media platform again!!!!

Daisy, I think I'll work on the owl this weekend and see how it turns out. I'll post a picture of it if I'm happy with it. The tutor asked to see some of my work, so I've been having a look at what is accessible and sorted out a few bits and pieces. Most of it is in the loft and I've been told by DC that I am NOT to go up there on my own!!! Hope your party goes well tomorrow.

Didn't sleep well last night. Up three times for a wee and woke just about every hour. I don't think it'll be long before I head upstairs!

                              Night night ladies xx

Had rain during the night. Looks bright in the distance.

Off into town today, but not for anything special.
I want to stock up at the butchers and i need a few cards.
We will eat out in town.
Asda shopping will be done on our way home.
