    Good morning,

Daisy, it is the same here with the dark clothing, a good friend of DS2 was cycling a few years ago, all in black, he got hit by a car, in fact I don't think he has ever fully recovered from the brain damage. I love black, but after being almost knocked over on a zebra path a few years ago in a black coat I now try to either have a lighter colour or wear reflection. I "won" a back pack a few years ago from the post code lottery, it all has reflective zips, strips etc, in fact it is made from re-cycled bottles, I thought one of the girls would like it for school, but no, it wasn't big enough, I use if for the gym and on dark mornings all the cars stop for me at the roundabouts etc

I was out for my walk through the woods yesterday afternoon, I was stood chatting to a friend, he was just going to take his little dog for the walk, I saw DS1 cycle past, I shouted to him as he hadn't seen me stood there. He often goes for a ride after work, with being sat indoors all day staring at the screen he likes to get out. He had to get back home as it was an early meal evening, GD1 works in the supermarket and GD2 had football training.

I don't think I will walk through the woods today, it has been raining, it still is I think, I will stick to the paths today.

Sun is coming up. Hope we have a nice day weatherwise.

No set plans for today. Will just go with the flow.

Took a chicken leek and mushroom pie out of the freezer yesterday.
I think i'll do chips and mushy peas with it.

Daisy, those 2 cyclists were lucky yesterday.

      Have a good day ladies.

        Morning ladies

        Lizzie
I think it should be the law that you must wear reflective wear on dark days morning or night ,
Scares the life out of me if it’s dark and you come across a cyclist you didn’t see because they all in black .

        Daisy
Storm enjoyed his Fish with Pilau rice then yoghurt and fresh blue berry’s for after ,
The yoghurt and blueberries were supposed to be my lunch but he goes mad for it when he smells it so always ends up getting his way 😁

Off to MILs take her meals and see if she w ants anything done ,
        Be back later xx

          Good morning everyone.

The sun is out here Very nippy though, I think the winter duvet may need to come down from the loft.

Oma, I hope MIL is in a good mood and appreciates her meals.

Nan2, chicken and mushroom pie is one of our favourites.

Daisy and Lizzie, as a driver darkly clothed cyclists, and pedestrians are scary aren't they! You are wise to wear something brighter or reflective Lizzie. I wear a lot of black in winter, I should get something to make myself more visible. Not that I will be cycling!

We really enjoyed the afternoon tea outing yesterday, and I bought the car seat for my car, which I will write about later.
Tesco delivery this morning, then I will be visiting mum this afternoon.

I hope everyone is OK this morning.

            Good Thursday morning everyone.

Thank you for the nice cheerful graphic, Nanto. The pie sounds perfect for an Autumn day - enjoy.

Oma, I agree. It should be law for cyclists to wear reflective clothing. It's common sense really, and you'd think they would want to stay safe. I hope MIL is in a good mood today. Wouldn't it be lovely if she was as pleased to see you as Storm is. Eva loves yoghurt as well, and she likes the Yeo Valley blueberry one!

OH has the dentist this morning, and if the rain holds off we'll take Eva to the paddock afterwards. Then I need to get on with some of the jobs I didn't do yesterday. It's rained a lot overnight, so no gardening.

              Good Moaning,
I think it rained very hard earlier as all is sodden in the garden. Hooray!
Today is a bits and pieces day. I have to take DD2s ironing back, let DD2s dogs out, do some food shopping, then finish my own ironing. Out tonight so no dinner to think about. Still sitting here in my dressing gown so I must move.
              Have a good day ladies.

DS2 loves his cycle riding. When he comes to ours he always has his reflective hi vis jacket on.
Now,whether he wears it all the time i don't know. I will ask him.

Oma, hope MIL is all nice and cheery for you.

Sun is shining and its quite warm. Long may it last.

Been to the doctors, hence the late appearance. I will write post something in Yeo.

Lovely and sunny here after a night with some rain. H is here again, her daddy wanted to visit his poorly mother again today.

I responded on your thread Plant.

Nan2 , it's been a sunny warm day here too 😊 Washing dried on the line, sunglasses needed to drive!

Grauntie, what a good mum doing DD's ironing!

I hope the rain stayed away for your Eva walk Daisy.

I had a nice afternoon with mum. There will always be some talk of her coming to live with me, which I deflect. On the whole a good visit though, with her not getting upset.
We are having fish and chips for tea. I am particularly happy as I missed out on them on our weekend away. Also that means OH's turn to cook rolls on to tomorrow. I'm always happy when I don't have to cook for us as well as the GC on Friday

Oma, so glad MIL was in a good mood today. I bet she enjoyed that cod in parsley sauce for her dinner.

Grauntie, I hope your evening out was delicious! At least you won't have to come home and water the garden!!

Nanto, we've had sunshine today as well. Lovely. I hope your DS always wears his hi-viz vest, especially during the winter when it's dark much of the time.

Plant, H's daddy must be very worried about his poorly Mum. I hope the rest of your family are getting over Covid ok. Does GS3 move at the week-end?

Gem, you really deserve those fish and chips today. Glad to hear your visit with your Mum went well. It must be hard deflecting some of those conversations, though, and I do feel for you.

Our day didn't go according to plan. I'd woken up with a bit of earache - it was niggling last night and still niggling this morning. I really didn't feel like doing anything today and even debated going back to bed! OH went off to the dentist and we were going to take Eva out when he came back, but I just didn't feel like it. We sat and had a coffee and I think the last few weeks caught up with us. After lunch I tidied out the sideboard and cleaned the dining room and then remembered I'd left a white wash in the machine! Most of it dried outside, just the towels needed finishing off in the drier. Dinner was easy - a reheated casserole with jacket potatoes and extra veggies.

I think I need an early night for once!

Well art class finally took place! I'd taken all my stuff ready to paint and discovered we were drawing from a picture the tutor brought! I quite enjoyed it even though I had to use watercolour paper rather than cartridge. I didn't get it finished, so I shall try and get it done before next week's class. We seem to do something different each week and our next session is pen and wash. At least I know what to take with me now! Came out and treated myself to coffee and cake at the little cafe next to the hall and sat in the glorious afternoon sunshine.

Hope you soon feel better Daisy. Perhaps the past few weeks are catching up with you and your body's telling you to slow down and take it easy. I think we forget that we're getting older and not able to do the things we once used to without thinking about the consequences.

Yesterday, the Ladies Group were entertained by a magician. I really didn't think it would be worth going, but I really enjoyed it! He managed to take my £5 note and put in the middle of a tangerine. How he did it I have no idea. I was hoping to double my money, but instead I got a sticky note back....and yes it was the same one! Thank goodness the notes are made of plastic now. He'd written the numbers on an envelope when I gave it to him. Also yesterday the plumber came and fixed my heating. He had to take the bottom of the cupboard it's in, off because he couldn't get at the screws to get the door off. I now have an easy to use control system and this morning I awoke to a warm house. The bonus is I don't have to climb on the sink to switch the heating on from the buttons above the boiler ( they've gone too!).

Dog sitting on Sunday at DD's. GS is off to Spain with the school, so they decided they'd have a night away as long as I could look after doggo. They're going to Bourton on the Water in the Cotswolds and will be back on Monday.

Think it's bedtime now so Night Night everyone! Sleep tight xx

Good morning. Just been talking to GD1 and her hubby.
He goes into hospital today in Sheffield for his operation.
Wished him luck and hoping all goes well. Hope its benign.

WG sounds like you had a good day yesterday. We don't mind watching magicians.
Glad the boiler is sorted and no more climbing on the sink.

Daisy, hope you are feeling better today.

Off to the post office now. Got a couple of things to send before the next strike on the 20th.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

I'm keeping everything crossed for your GSIL today Nan2. I'm sure all will be well xx

Good to hear MIL was on good form yesterday Oma!

Daisy, you should rest more. How are you feeling today?

WG, I so admire the way you have thrown yourself into local life since your move, joining groups etc.

A dull cloudy morning here. An easy day today, as no school runs. I usually do a lot of driving on Friday afternoons! DD is bringing GD into town for a belated birthday tea with one of her friends. She said it was pointless me driving out there as she was coming this way anyway. So, I just have to wait here for GS2 to be delivered to me after school
OH wants more bird seed and hedgehog food, so we are going out for that this morning, I need a few cards, so I'll get those whilst we are out.

                                Happy Friday ladies.
