Daisy, I'm sure your son will be glad of your OH's help with the garden furniture. Poor GS1, but it's so easily done. DD2 has done that more than once on the wall!

I am glad to be home. I will finish my holiday diary over the weekend. I will miss swimming in the sea every day, but am glad to see my family and friends, and our cat of course

Gem, they've been thinking the entrance to their drive needs to be a bit wider. The drive slopes up towards the road, which is always tricky, and with 3 cars on the drive it's a bit tight.

Look forward to reading your holiday diary later. xx

Poor GS he must be so angry with himself but it’s so easily done in a tight spot , hope it’s not a expensive repair job .

Good morning everyone, light showers now and again, I have managed to miss them up to now. I went for a walk early then have just been for strawberries for the girls, I will call in later today, they always love the strawberries.

Daisy and Gem, EVERYONE shook hands here, each time you met someone, introduced etc it was a hand shake, if well known the 3 kisses as well, a birthday consisted of going round all the guests shaking hands etc, there is much less of that now.

Daisy, your poor GS, we all have to learn and accidents do happen.

I got all my windows cleaned indoors the other day, now I am washing the curtains, I closed the window yesterday so now I can wash them.

Plant, the village care sounds very good.

I don't know if I mentioned this or not, early one morning last week I was woken by a strange noise, like an explosion ,
it woke me, earlier than normal as well, I got out of bed and heard it again, I looked out over the balcony as I had a good idea where it came from, I couldn't see anything, I asked a few neighbours if they had heard anything, but no, they all sleep!! A few days later the man next door told me that the lift in the flat opposite here hadn't been working for a few days, apparently it was too warm and the electrics exploded! That was the noise. Fast forward 10 days, the lift still isn't working, the people that live there are older then most of us, some are in wheelchairs etc, they have fitted a chair lift, most of the people daren't use that so they are stuck indoors. The repair men have been a few times, they are still waiting for spare parts. I hope for them that they can repair it soon.

            Lizzie
That must have been a shock waking with a noise like that ,
Poor people stuck at home like that , hopefully they get it fixed soon .
I was thinking of taking my curtains down to wash now the autumn is coming and the windows are not wide open now .
My two Bedroom curtains are new but my sitting room ones I have had a good while , I may look for new ones .

Just been to see GS wish him happy Birthday ,
The stuff he got from everyone he’s one lucky and popular young man ,
When we came out he was going over his girlfriends to pick up gifts from her and her parents .

Today must have been the first time we haven't bought anything at the garden centre.
We did buy dinner there though.
I wanted some birthday cards, usually get some lovely ones at the garden centre, but alas not today.

We had coffee at the farm shop, and i bought some steaks there.

Managed to get all i wanted in the Asda.

Daisy, hope GS car won't be an expensive job.

Sorry I haven’t posted before now, I went out early to an Agricultural Show with GD1 her OH and baby H. Very tiring day for me, I am now sipping a G&T.

Nanto, those poor residents not able to get out, how would they manage if there was a fire as you can’t use a lift. Hope the GD’s enjoy the strawberries. I find the ones in shops haven’t got the true strawberry flavour.

Oma, hope GS1 enjoyed his birthday.

Now we don’t have coal fires I don;t think curtains need washing or cleaning that often, well that’s what I tell myself.

Gemini, welcome home, you say you are glad to be home but I bet in a day or so you will wish you were swimming in the sea.

Daisy, I haven’t read your post over the page but I presume GS has had a fight with a wall in his car. Poor chap but it happens to us all.

Good morning Nan2, good morning ladies.

I hope slept after your tiring day Plant.

I hope your GS had a great birthday Oma.

I hope that lift is repaired soon Lizzie.

It was lovely to see DD and SIL 3 and baby yesterday, I got lots of cuddles with him. He is so lovely SIL looks so tired. He does all the night feeds now as DD can't hold the baby until the drain tube and bag are off. Fingers crossed for next week she can share the night feeds.

This afternoon I am going to visit my mum, with a tub of Cadbury's Heroes! Then onto DD2's for a Sunday roast. It will be lovely to catch up with them all.
OH leave this morning for an overnight golf trip with a few friends, back tomorrow early evening.

Good Sunday morning everyone. The sun's shining here so I'm hoping to get some washing out on the line, and if it dries out a bit mow the lawn which is growing like mad. No happy mediums are there with our weather!

We had a lovely day at DS1's and DIL's yesterday. DIL cooked a lovely roast dinner, and we got the garden furniture built in time to sit out with a drink beforehand. We were both tired when we got back though, and OH is still asleep.

GS1 hasn't done a lot of damage to his or his brother's car. His brother's already had a bit of a scrape on that wheel arch, and GS1's car can easily be sorted out. He took me for a drive in it, and he seems to be a sensible and safe driver.

Lots of jobs to do today, gardening if it dries out a bit, if not jobs around the house.

Plant, I hope you slept well after your busy day.

Gem, your poor SIL, no wonder he's tired, but things will get easier for both him and DD3. I'm glad you enjoyed lots of cuddles with little E. I hope S enjoys the golf trip and the weather is good for them. I hope your mum is ok.

Nanto, I hope you get your washing dried as well.

Lizzie, how awful for the people in those flats. The noise must have been very frightening, and then to still be without their lift makes it even worse.

Oma, it sounds as though GS1 has had a great birthday. It's such a milestone, isn't it. I still find it hard to think of our GS1 as an adult and remember he's doing a technical and responsible job.

Daisy, send your sun over to us, it is misty snd very Autumnal here. I am feeling a bit tired after yesterday and not much energy, quite proud, I did lots of walking and quite a lot of sitting. H must have been tired last evening, she insisted on walking most of the time. Lovely pictures of her feeding the cows, takes after her mother.

Gemini, I hope that drain comes out soon. Your mum will love her tin of chocs. Enjoy your dinner with DD2 and family.

Oma, your GS1 has been truly spoilt, it sounds like a lovely family day at the spa.
