Been and picked DS up from Stansted. No problems until I joined the M11 then everything was at a standstill. Traffic queueing to get off the motorway was tailing back for a very long way. DS didn't take too long to clear immigration and we were on our way only to find the road we wanted was closed off. Again traffic queuing for miles. We were diverted well out of the way ending up in Epping Forest, but eventually got back on M25 and had a clear run home apart from the roadworks which seem to be everywhere at the moment. Couple of strong black coffees and I'm beginning to feel almost human again! Thak goodness for SatNav, says the woman who was never going to use it!!!
DS quite impressed by the new house. It's the first time he's seen it!
Don't think I'll be doing much for the rest of the day. Supposed to be doing a papercutting class tomorrow, I wonder if it will still take place? DS and GS were going to football, but that's been cancelled, but DD's hockey match is still on.
Have a good day ladies xxBelieve you can and you're halfway there.

Its just been announced that the Queen died at 4.30pm.
Just watched Charles and Camill arrive back at Buckingham Palace. Charles was shaking hands with a lot of the crowd.
They probably just wanted to get inside and have a cuppa.
Around 12ish we had rumbles of thunder. then just before 1 the heavens well and truly opened.
Thundering again now.
Got the kitchen cleaned, and had the tv on in the kitchen.
Tidied other parts of the house.Last edited by Nanto2girls; 09-09-2022, 03:05 PM.Sometimes I forget to like posts,but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Plant ,
MIL wasn’t too bad actually a few usual moans but in the whole not to bad , few jobs to do like change the bed
She was happy with her food 😁
Nanto
Its rained for days here on and off , very heavy during the night .
We have watched the King arriving home and meeting the crowds , his body guards looked on edge I think they just wanted him to go inside , it was a lot for a man who’s mother had just died but he knows his duty .
WG
good for you managing the satnav 😁
Has DS gone for a sleep after his journey .
The great north run is still going ahead at the weekend .
We said the same about the Queen , the presenters were all in black suits and ties ,
Obviously her death couldn’t be announced till most of the family were there
Im not fat just 6ft too small

WG,what an awful journey for you from Stanstead. But well done on making the best use of the sat nav. Another achievement to notch up. How long is your DS able to stay for?
Oma - it was nice that your MIL was in one of her better moods.
I think the King was very relaxed and knew he needed to make a connection with people. He did the right thing. Apparently one of the bodyguards suggested people put their phones away and experience the moment. Good advice, I thought.
We've also had heavy rain off and on for a few days now. Today I managed to dodge the showers when I walked Eva, but yesterday I got drenched.
We were due to have our flu jabs next week, but this morning the pharmacist rang and asked if we'd like them done today, so we went this afternoon. Job done.

Dreadful weather this afternoon after a nice morning. I got stranded in the sunroom and found it was leaking. We had so much wind, rain and thunder I was unable to get a television connection for some time. This afternoon I received a box of tea time treats from our Village Care group. They are an amazing group, they supply lifts and help when needed and have a lovely tea for us at the village hall a couple of times a year. They also man a daily telephone service.
Baby H was her usual amusing self, she woke up from her sleep full of smiles and fun.
Gemini, pleased to hear you are back safe and sound and that everything is fine at home.
Daisy, I was so pleased to read that your GD1 had a lovely time back to school with her friends.
WG what a dreadful journey you had going to and from the airport. I am sure your son was impressed with your new home.

Gem, welcome home to you and S. It's lovely to go on holiday, but it's also good to come home to our own bed.
Plant, did you recently have a leak repaired in your sun room?

Well, here I am, first visit in a long while. 😁 It's just passed 10 am on Saturday here. Damp, dreary and cold even though it's early spring. Apparently we're in for a cooler and wetter spring than normal, my poor garden needs work but it's too soggy to do anything with it right now. Today is an inside day, Housework I guess 🤮 There's always plenty of that waiting for me, even though there's only two of us 🤣

Good morning everyone, and welcome back Missy!
Have a nice shopping day Nan2.
Oma, I hope GS has a wonderful birthday. Its even better it being a Saturday
Plant the village care group sounds a wonderful thing.
WG, sat navs have their place for sure!
Lizzie, I have always thought, long before covid, that hand shaking was a sure way to spread germs and bacteria. I am not a fan!
Well, I can tell I am home. Waking to a wet cloudy morning! Not raining atm though.
I need it to stay dry to get the holiday washing started! Tesco delivery midday, then we are off to see DD3, SIL and baby this afternoon. Everyone tells me I will see a big difference in the baby. It will be almost two weeks since I saw him, longer for OH.
Enjoy your Saturday ladies.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning everyone, and a special G'day to Missy.
Missy, I sympathise over your garden. After the drought here, the rain came and our garden's gone from being too dry to too wet! At least you have spring and summer to look forward to, and hopefully it will dry out soon.
Gem, I'm sure it's lovely to be home, even if the weather is dreary. It will be great to see DD3 and family, and I bet you can't wait for the cuddles with little E.
Nanto, are you just browsing in the garden centre or popping in for a coffee?
We are going up to DS1's for the day. They have bought garden furniture like ours (end of year sale!) and we know it's difficult to assemble so OH is going to help DS1 to put it together. On Thursday morning GS1 misjudged reversing out of their drive and scraped his lovely new car against his brother's. I don't think he did much damage but he must be very embarrassed and annoyed with himself. I think we'll have to be very tactful.
