    Good morning all.

    Rain forecast here too Oma.

Nan2 It will be nice to get a proper look round your GD's house.

Lizzie, apparently there is a very nice Lidl recently opened nearer to us than the existing one. We never go to that one as it is right across the other side of town where we have no other reason to go. We will have trip to the new one sometime!

The group dog walks sound nice Daisy.

There is a quiet period in house sales where there is nothing to report WG. I hope all goes smoothly.

Plant, I hope your sore throat is getting better and you are not too bored in isolation.

Today we are cooking a Sunday roast for SS, OH's golf friend and now my aqua friend
It's a good excuse to have a roast. We rarely bother for just us two and living alone, I'm sure she won't unless family are staying.

Happy Sunday everyone. Off to try Wordle now!

Good Sunday morning, everyone. It's dull and dark here. It rained overnight and I think there's a lot more to come. At least I'm not worrying about the new tree's roots drying out!

Oma - how sad about your nephew and his wife. Sad for their little girl, too, but at least it sounds as though they are still friends. Enjoy your morning coffee with your friends.

Nanto - good morning to your cute little friend.

Plant - how are you today? I hope your sore throat hasn't developed into a cold. Have a restful day ready for tomorrow. xx

WeeGranny - I agree with Oma. It's tough having to part with a lot of 'stuff', but once it's done you do feel much better. We downsized about 25 years ago, and the only thing I would have liked to keep was my twin manual organ - it had such a lovely sound. But there was nowhere to put it. The walk by the river sounds lovely. Water's very calming, isn't it.

Lizzie - it must be so good having all those growers close by - their produce must be so fresh and just like home-grown.

Gem - we haven't got a convenient Lidl store either - but then nothing's convenient here, but I do like living in the country! It's nice to have a roast occasionally, but I don't enjoy it enough to want to cook one regularly just for us. Enjoy your dinner today. x

I want to do some tidying up in the kitchen today. A couple of cupboards need a good clear out - more than a couple really, but I'm being realistic about what I'll do in one go! A couple of loads of washing - bedding and towels - and I think that's it. It's too wet to do gardening.

      Have a good Sunday everyone.

Very dull and dark here, need the lights on. I intend to change the bedding today, ribs feeling almost normal, I will be very careful. Gemini, I am feeling a bit bored being shut in for three days.

Roast dinner sounds delicious Gemini, that is something I miss living on my own. I am sure your friend will appreciate it.

Oma, that is very sad, a young couple breaking up when they have a 2year old to bring up.

Lizzie, your fresh veg sounds delicious. At this time of year it is difficult to get fresh veg. I do miss the lovely veg my OH used to grow.

Oma, the son of a friend in the flat is getting a divorce, 3 years I think, no children, sad really, do they think we all had plain sailing???

You will enjoy the roast lunch Gem.

It is very cold again,, I have been for a walk, I bought a jacket a few weeks ago to walk in, it has a hood and I am never keen on hoods, but, I am really pleased with this one, I needed it with the cold wind.

I met a couple walking, I have known them for years, they used to have the milk farm here in the village, they walk 4kms every morning, cycle later in the day, he is 91 years old and she is 88!

I may pop to the Lidl, this one is across the road and the newer one at the other side of the village, I usually go to my local.

Yes, Daisy, we are lucky with the growers for veg, plants, flowers etc, there is a special FB site showing where they all are.

Good Morning everyone (only just morning) I have been up so early today the wind was diverting the hail stones against my bedroom window so no chance of getting back to sleep for me.

Oliver has taken to sleeping in the outside shed the past few nights for some reason when he comes in in the morning he is not cold etc I wonder why he has started doing this ? I have looked around the shed and can't see where he is getting in he seems well in himself for all his nocturnal habits.

Today I have done a fillet of pork for our lunch & rice pudding I just do a small pudding for Jim as he loves it I am not too fond so am having a strawberry pancake for my afters.

The weather is quite dull today but dry and the wind has died down a lot I may take the chance and brush up the fallen leaves which have gathered in the front garden but I'm having a serious think about that

My eldest DGS called over yesterday and set up my new phone for me it came as part of my new deal with BT on Home Essentials I have never had an all singing all dancing phone like this before so it will be an experience to say the least !! just watch this space is all I can say he was telling me all about Aps etc until I told him to stop confusing me with science just show me how to switch on and off.

Off now to change bedding and start the washing before I settle down this afternoon to watch a Catherine Cookson film on Drama.

            Take care everyone xxx glamma

Had a lovely morning with our friends , loads to catch up with ,
The National Glass centre is right on the river that leads into the sea 5 minutes down the road ,
The Cafe is on the riverside
It had a few ships in this morning so we watched them going about their jobs onboard ,
looked like a oil rigger was coming in but the sea and river were both very choppy ,
Wouldn't want to be on board in the north sea today

Glamm im useless with technology too , I stick to the apps I know and anything goes wrong B sorts it I wont and couldn't

Plant what time are you there tomorrow ? I think you said you had to be there at 7.30 am I right ?

We had a lovely morning as well.

GD2's house is lovely. She keeps it clean and tidy as well.

The weather has been terrible today. Wet,dark and miserable.

Gem, we had a roast dinner today. Cooked the beef in the slow cooker.
Quite a bit of beef left, so hubby has ordered cold beef, chips and beans for dinner tomorrow.

That sounds like an interesting morning Oma.
I have to be at the hospital for 7.30, only a short ride, taxi coming at 7.10. Dil picking me up, will phone her when I am ready. There has been no mention of food so I will take coffee and a breakfast bar for my breakfast and a wrap, banana and a drink for lunch. They say you could be waiting some time so bring a book, I am taking my IPad. I do hope I will get it done early.

Glamm, your strange cat Oliver, he likes to try different places for his sleep. I hope you get used to your phone quickly, I have to be shown several times what is there for me to use. I feel quite chuffed I have managed to face time my GD.

Plant - best wishes for tomorrow. I hope you don't have to wait long for the op. Good idea to take some food and a drink or two, and perhaps your slippers as well.

Glamm - I'm glad the wind has died down - it's pretty chilly when it howls in off the river, isn't it! I've got clear memories of going to work on the ferry and walking up to Church Street wearing hot pants in the middle of winter!! Enjoy your new all-singing and dancing phone. My OH gets impatient with his phone if it does something he doesn't expect. As for Windows 11 - you'd think Microsoft had invented it specially to try his patience, bless him. Do you think Ollie spends all night in the shed, or is he perhaps going into somebody's cosy house and keeping warm and cosy there.

Oma - there probably aren't many days in the year when any of us would be happy to be out in a boat in the North Sea. So glad you had a lovely time this morning.

Lizzie - well done to the friends walking that far at that age every day. I'm not keen on hoods on coats - they never stay on my head. I've got two coats at the moment with fixed hoods and I didn't realise until I was wearing them!

Nanto - your GD2 is taking pride in her home, isn't she. I bet she loved showing you and your OH round today. x

Well, the kitchen cupboards didn't get their day today, and I'm not holding my breath for tomorrow either! Our neighbours popped round for a drink this morning. Nice to catch up - they've had visitors for most of the last 2 weeks so I think they were glad to have a bit of time out. I ended up painting most of the afternoon. The hare picture continues to disappear - I keep painting bits out because I don't like them. But today, at least, I started to paint in a second hare, so I suppose it's progress.

Daisy, thats good progress with the hare painting. I don't doubt you will get there.

Plant, wishing you well for today.

                          Good morning everyone.

Thinking of Plant today and hoping all goes well and she doesn't have too long to wait.
Oma and Nan2, I'm glad you had good morning yesterday
As Nan2 says Daisy, you will get there with the hare painting!
Cats have minds of their own Glamma, that's all I can say. And they do like to change their sleeping places, so hopefully Oliver will soon change his to inside!

We had a nice afternoon with our friend yesterday. We had roast pork and I made a brioche bread and butter pudding which we had with some vanilla ice cream.

No plans today. Quiz tonight I think.

                          HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ladies!!

Good morning, Daisy, hoods on coats can be dangerous when I am on the bike, the jacket I have now has a perfect hood!

Talking of bikes, I was almost blown over on mine early this morning, twice! The wind has dropped now though.

Well done on getting on with the painting.xx Hot pants!!!!

Oma, congratulations on your sons birthday.xx

Gem, you would enjoy the meal.

Nan, you must be so proud when walking round your GD's house.

I have tidied a few things out of the cupboards, table cloths etc, did I post this yesterday? All less work for the boys! The friends daughter left 4 boxes in hall, full of pots and vases with the idea that if anyone wanted anything to take it, she phoned me yesterday to ask if I would be kind enough to move the boxes to my garage and she would pick them up after work as people were complaining. I have put them in my shed and told her she can take them on Saturday when the men are helping. I don't know why they were complaining, they were certainly not blocking anything and hardly anyone goes out on a Sunday so it shouldn't have bothered them.
