I will Gem, I was thinking of walking as it is only 5 minutes, the wind got me on the roundabout!

      Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

OH and I are such romantics - we've celebrated by having the boiler serviced this morning!

Plant - I do hope you aren't hanging around waiting for too long today. Sending you hugs. xx

Lizzie - aren't people funny - complaining about someone being kind enough to offer things for free if they want them! Surely those boxes were doing no harm! I never thought of hoods on coats being a problem on your bike, but the mental picture of them filling with wind and carrying you off like Mary Poppins is a worry. x

Oma - doesn't time fly - your baby being 41 today! I thought Gem's brioche bread and butter pudding sounded delicious, but so does your chocolate version. I've never used brioche, and I can't remember the last time I made B7B pudding at all. OH isn't keen, but I love it!

Gem - when I read your post yesterday I wondered what kind of roast you were doing, and guessed pork. What type of pork joint do you use? I never have much success with it, I don't know why.

I might try and do some jobs today that I've been putting off for a while. It's nice and sunny but a near neighbour is having a long row of huge conifers felled and the noise in the garden is unbearable. A bit annoying, as it might be the only dry day this week.

Daisy, that is exactly what I think, they wouldn't complain to me as they know what I would say! It is the hood being in the way when you are cycling that is the problem, blocking the view.

Lizzie - some people need to get a life. While the surveys were being done in our road for high speed broadband, Outreach were agreeing routes for the cabling with individual households and then marking with just pale lines where the cables would go, and people complained about that! They ended up having to take photos and mark the routes that way! I can't understand some people!

No, Daisy, it seem that some people are born to complain, I have neighbours, they have lived here 40 years, I get on well with them, but, they are never positive about anything at all. There seem to be a lot of people like that.

Valentine Greetings ladies hoping you are all being spoilt,I have put up the last card J bought for me he never ever forgot to buy a special card for me.

Plant I hope the day goes well and you are home soon.x

Oliver is still sleeping out the naughty boy hid in Jims all yesterday and Jim did not know he was hiding in his bedroom under his blanket until I took his dinner in for him as soon as Ollie heard my voice he came to greet me must have thought he was going to get Roast Pork as well.

I've done some holiday shopping on ebay over the week-end and got 3 fabulous bargains in the shoe dept,3 x pairs of next flats all new with labels great for my holidays and not cost £18 for the 3 of them so I am delighted but not everyone is looking for summer shoes at the minute maybe that is why I was so lucky with my bids.

Off to do some housework now I feel in the mood to do a bit tidying up not that it will take long and then maybe have another go on the garden I did a bit on Saturday but gave up when the rain started.

              Take care xxx glamma x

Lizzie there is no pleasing some people ,
I had a neighbour many years ago that would only talk to me in the whole street and she moaned about everyone and everything .

She had a real thing about anyone on benefits, all scrounges as far as she was concerned , yet she had a DD who had 5 children unmarried on benefits, but apparently that was ok as she worked to pay for her grand babies , talk about double standards.

Daisy not just the noise but I imagine the dust and tree pollen will be flying about

Glamm that was a bargain well done , I’m sure your J is looking down saying Happy Valentine’s Day 💕💕

I am back, large bandage on hand and have to keep it elevated as much as possible. I wasn’t very well behaved, my blood pressure was high and they sent me to recovery to see if it would come down and it did so they proceeded with the op. I had suspected for some time that my blood pressure was on the high side so I took a couple of readings and it was. They have given me some tablets to take until I can get to see my doctor. Daisy, the slippers were a good idea, my feet were frozen. I am to see the lady surgeon in 2 weeks and must see my doctor in the meantime.

Glammn, ~Oliver soon came out of hiding when he smelt dinner. Well done to find some shoe bargains. There never seem to be much in my common size, I am a 61/2.

Just pulled the fridge out to clean under it ,
I am ashamed of myself , honestly it was Shocking , anything and everything was under including a big pool of dried Ribena that I spilt a few weeks ago and thought I had cleaned all up .
could have opened a chemists the amount of dropped pills that have rolled under.

Note to self clean under more regular 😱😱😱😳

Plant, pleased to see you are home, take it easy now,xxx

Oma, a good thing you haven't ants in the house, they would have loved the Ribena.

Oma, people like your old neighbour don't seem to think before they give an opinion, a friend of mine smokes, a lot, she has done all her life, that is her choice but then she goes on about people in IC with lung problems after smoking for so long.

Glamm, that was a bargain with the shoes, I like a bargain! In fact when the boys were younger they called me "mother bargain"!

My friend in Scotland sent me a Valentine message, he never forgets!

I got some plants for on the balcony on Saturday from the grower, I decided I would put some in high tubs until the others can go in in May, I went to a shop in village as I saw they had them but not the same quality as from the grower so I will go and get some more tomorrow.

Lizzie, some folk were born to be complainers. The plants look lovely.

Plant, pleased your op is over. take care. x

I saw the weather forecast on tv just before 7 tonight.
It looks like we are going to be in for a battering on Wednesday,Thursday and Friday.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Lizzie, an elderly lady I was friendly with when we lived in Wales always used to say "some people enjoy taking their pleasures sadly" - and I think that sums up the negative moaners, glass-is-empty (not even-half empty!) mindsets of some people. Many years ago we went away for a long week-end with a couple we didn't know very well. The husband moaned every minute of every day. He was rude about the locals, complained about every meal and drove as though he was the only person on the road. I ended up feeling really miserable! Never again.

Plant - so pleased you are home, and they were able to do the op, despite your BP keeping them on their toes. I'm sure it will come down now that op is over. You've had to wait a long time for it and along with your psoriasis, losing your sister and concerns over various members of the family having Covid, you've had a lot to deal with. Rest and follow doctor's orders. Sending hugs. xxx

Glamm - Oliver is a smart kitty. I bet he's got friends all round who let him in, give him treats and make a fuss of him. Then he comes home to you for more! I'm so glad you have J's last Valentine's card as a lovely memory.

Oma - have you seen the "Thoughts of Dog" messages? I think they started on Twitter, but my DS2 gives me a page a day desk calendar of them each year. The little dog takes his responsibilities very seriously and periodically he checks under the fridge. Sure enough the skittle that has been there for ages is still there. He never says if there's anything else!

I wonder how Gem's quiz is going tonight?

I did clean a cupboard out today, just not the one I had intended. OH decided to mend a dripping tap in the kitchen which is driving me mad. So he shut off the water to that tap from a pipe under the sink. The pipe immediately sprang a leak! It wasn't something OH could mend, so the chap who had serviced the boiler just a couple of hours previously came back and fixed the pipe. So the cupboard is spotless and very tidy, but the tap still leaks, of course.

I took Eva for a walk after lunch, picked up the post for the friend who is away and then I did a bit more painting on the hare picture. I really must get it finished.

Daisy it must have been a day for that ,
B spent ages today trying to sort our sink out ,
Its been making a gurgling noise all week so he took the u bend and other bits of pipe off cleaned them then needed a seal for the plug hole bit ,

We went to B&Q while we were in the plumbing part there were two men buying parts , I asked if they were plumbers they said yes so I asked what was causing the noise ,
He said it could be air block caused by a small build up in something called a Pea trap or Bottle bend and to try rodding it .

We don;t have rods but our DDs friend is a plumber so coming sometime this week .
By time B sorted the plug hole and pipes the cupboard was filthy so had to be cleaned before everything went back ,
That of course then turned into me cleaning under fridge as i have mentioned
