Morning all.
This time of year seems to enhance the loss of our loved ones.
My heart goes out to our wonderful ladies who are grieving at the moment.

OH has just come back from the hospital. He had an outpatient appointment concerning cataracts in both of eyes. He has been told he can expect to wait about 3 months for his op.


We don't have much planned for today, next week is busy for us, we have the dentist plus I want to go to town to spend the preloaded gift card most householders have received from our council. The cards have been credited with £15 . The only rule is the card can only be used in local shops, no big names like M and S , Next etc, The idea is to help local businesses recover from the knock on effect of covid.
Also we are meeting up with OH' s two sisters and their husbands . We are going to the pub for a meal. ( I know, it's a hard job but someone has to do it)
I will also hand deliver Christmas cards to neighbours.

I have really worn myself out today ,
I cleaned all downstairs this morning ,
After lunch I set too and did the Ironing ,
Then I washed all paintworks and windows upstairs , cleaned the mirrors in the bedrooms, bathroom and landing
Took everything out of the two bathroom cupboards cleaned inside and threw away stuff like half bottles and unused stuff ,

Took down the shower organiser emptied out the shower stuff and shampoo cleaned that out and put it all back together
Cleaned down the tiles ,
Got the step ladders out and cleaned light fittings ,

I then decided as I was up there I would wrap some presents , sitting on the floor at my age is not clever , I seized up and it took me ages to get up , silly woman , my back is killing now

Only thing to do now is hoover upstairs but I am leaving that for B , I really cant do any more ,

One job leads to another but I really am my own worst enemy

Note to self stop being a Bl**dy fool trying to do everything in one day .

Oma, you said it you are B fool, it must be at least six months before a light fitting needs washing and I can’t imagine your paintwork gets so dirty with just two of you. Nevertheless I would love you to come and stay for a few days, you would have a lovely satisfying time.

Dil popped in this afternoon so see how I was and we discussed Christmas arrangements, they are coming Christmas morning to exchange presents now and to see the family. It makes a big crowd Christmas morning but I love it. There will only be 7 for Christmas dinner.

I had a 30 minute nap and felt better for it .
B said I can’t do anything tomorrow but as I have done it all today there isn’t anything to do anyway

Plant it will be lovely seeing them all it will make the day

Lizzie how is the lady who had face Cancer is she doing ok ?

Oma, the lady with the cancer is doing well, she has been in the hospital for 10 days for plastic surgery and they have built her face up again. She is very positive which is a good thing, she has lived near me for 40 years and I have no problem with her, I always speak to her but with others she is not responsive, M next door was telling me she speaks to her when she sees her and there is a lady on the 4th floor that she is friendly with, she is autistic, she was probably not diagnosed with it as a child but she now has very good help which is good for her. She does wear the warm jacket I gave her!

Had a good day in town. Bus drivers are on strike, so we didn't think it would be as busy as it was.
Got everything we needed/wanted. Same goes for the supermarket.

Very tired this evening as I got very little sleep last night ( nothing to do with the GC staying) So I'm in my PJs, a bit of TV then an early night!

Awake early again. I thought I might get a few more hours sleep than yesterday as OH was up at 6 as he had to leave early for his hospital appointment but no it wasn't to be.

Oma , remember Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest , take it easy . How is your back. I think if I'd have sat on the floor I would still be there now !

Yesterday I brought the last of the Christmas presents, I just have to wrap them now. I did manage to wrap OH's while he was at the hospital..
This evening, weather permitting, we are going to hand deliver the last of the Christmas cards to our neighbours . We are doing it in the evening so that we can have a look at some of the outdoor decorations on a few of the houses around here.

Roast pork for lunch today, that will be the last roast I will be cooking until Christmas.

Feels a bit milder this morning.

Stocked up at the butchers yesterday, so need to sort the meat out for the freezer.
Plenty of other jobs to do.

I was going to do the advent calendar,but decided to leave it for one of the later risers.

A free day today. Christmas tree day! We have our outdoor lights and little reindeer, and inside a few lights and the Christmas cushions and throws out, now to complete the scene.

We had a busy day yesterday - I got a lot of jobs done that had been bugging me, and then in the afternoon DS1 and DIL1 called in for a cuppa. They had been to see DS2 and family and were on their way to an evening with friends they used to work with many years ago. It was lovely to see them.

Morning ladies ( just )

Took me a while to get going this morning , had to take my time standing my back was tight and painful , my own fault

Stood in the shower a long time letting red hot water hit my back and felt better for it ,

Went out to get fresh Bread then straight back in .

I bought a big reel of thin Red Ribbon from Amazon it came yesterday ,
so I have spent a hour changing all the gold strings and the metal hanging hooks on the Christmas tree decorations to ribbons .

Now I am doing nothing B is preparing lunch

DD, Sil, GD1 and 2, GD2’s partner and baby Elliot are at a local restaurant having as family get-together with Sil’s family. I have just finished another batch of mince pies but that might be the last as I have run out of my mincemeat and I think they would notice the difference. I am now going to have a rest and write some cards.

Oma, I hope your back will improve during the day. They say not to sit on something soft, try a hard chair for a bit.
When my OH used to garden he used to come in and always sat on a dining chair for a bit with a very straight back.

GS1’s birthday tomorrow, I think they, next door have eaten all his mince pies but never fear he will have some of this batch.

My calendar looks very busy up to Christmas but a couple have been cancelled due to the virus.

Nanto, I can’t remember when I last had a roast dinner so I will enjoy my Christmas dinner.
