Your mince pies are very popular Plant!

We have dismantled the very heavy dining table and taken that and the chairs to the garage. The new dining table and chairs arrive tomorrow.

We have put more decorations and cards up.
We are going to put our prelit main tree up next. As we may need to move it for the men to get past to the dining room I will not decorate it until tomorrow.
We can enjoy the lights tonight at least

I have been busy doing shelves in the hall cupboard, I have been wanting to do it for a long time and now I have done them! I may decorate the cupboard in the new year but that is only maybe, it needs to be empty to do that, as it is it looks much better, I went to DIY shop for a shelf, such a nice young man helped me!

Gem, you will be pleased with the new furniture in time for Christmas.

It has rained here most of the day.

Oma, you did well with your red ribbon, I wouldn't have the patience.

Lizzie even if you don't decorate the cupboard you have the satisfaction of knowing it's tidy

I have been meaning to put ribbons on the baubles since last year ,
I finally got around to doing it and have loads of Ribbon left for anymore or for another project should I need it

It's all going on around here tomorrow!
Not only is the new table being delivered in the morning, the man who is replacing the blown window pane in one of the back bedroom windows phoned. The glass has arrived and he is fitting it tomorrow morning.
We are going to see my auntie in the afternoon, so they had better both come when they say!

I think the ribbon on the baubles is a lovely idea Oma.

Good morning, Oma, I think the funeral was the 23rd, not sure but seem to think it was. I had bad night, awful pain in my leg, it is fine as soon as I get moving.

I'm a bit late in this morning.
Dinner is in the slow cooker. Braising steak, mushrooms, onions and carrots. W ill serve it with mash.
I've been to the post office and its mild again out there.

Gem, hope everyone comes on time.

                        Good morning dear ladies.

Calm and fine here too Oma. We are about ready!
Yes, WG's dear OH's funeral is 23rd Lizzie. I hope your leg pain eases off.
Dinner sounds good Nan2. We had home made shepherds pie with veg last night, and very good it was to if I say so myself!

Dining set delivery and window man this morning. We are popping over to my auntie's after an early lunch. To exchange Christmas cards and see her before Christmas.
Quiz tonight. It is the same one I set for last week, but we didn't have enough quizzers last Monday.

I hope today is the start of a good week for everyone.

Good Monday morning everyone. Goodness everyone is busy!

Oma - I bet those ribbons look great, but I wouldn't have the patience! Yes, WeeGranny's OH's funeral is the 23rd. Such a difficult time for her and the family. Hope the blood test is ok - is it just routine?

Gem - Everything happens at once - I hope all the timings work out ok. Have a lovely lunch with your Auntie. Do you think you'll get enough for your quiz tonight? What is your new dining set like? I'd love to see a photo.

Nanto - I'm just on my way over to yours for dinner - I could do justice to that.

Lizzie - well done on your new shelves. We never seem to have enough storage do we? What caused the pain in your leg? I hope it doesn't happen again tonight.

Plant - your family is so busy, and with birthdays as well it must be hard to keep up with everyone. How are you? I seem to remember you're waiting for some test results?

My arm and hand are still painful. Really bad for the last few days, but yesterday afternoon it was much better and I got through the night without painkillers. In fact I didn't wake up till 9 o'clock. I really wanted to get started earlier, but I obviously needed the sleep! OH spent most of yesterday putting up the corner sofa (the garden furniture, which has been piled high in our dining room for weeks). We obviously need the dining room for Christmas, and came up with the bright idea of putting the corner sofa up and using if for seating in there. We moved the 2 small armchairs into the living room to make space, and now have nowhere to put my little art table! It should live in the summerhouse but OH 'borrowed' it to store some stuff he wanted to put on eBay and I've been painting in the dining room - which is really nice - warm and light. I can't pack it all away as I still haven't finished the hare picture!

I made a large batch of pastry last night, so today I'll make mincepies and perhaps a couple of cakes for the freezer, and if I'm still standing I'll do a couple of meat dishes as well.

I'd better get a move on!

Take care everyone, and stay safe. xx

Lovely weekend, GC and partners from London were here for a family lunch with Sil’s family. GS2 and partner looked at a few more venues for their wedding. I managed to get all my cards written, the tree is next. I must get some veg today and I am looking around for a jar of apricots in brandy to make a sweet for Christmas Day.

Gemini, I hope the delivery and the window man arrive on time. Your aunt will be pleased to see you. I hope you get enough quizzes.

Nanto, your dinner is making my mouth water. Do you cook the meat first and add the veg later. When I cook a chicken casserole and put it all in together, the carrots are overcooked and do you brown the meat first? You are the queen of the slow cooker.

Oma, how is your back? Dr’s appts are all hours atm.

Daisy, our paths crossed, you are almost getting straight now the patio is finished, good ideas to make use of the garden furniture for Christmas seating but if your family are like ours, they all congregate in the kitchen. I am waiting to see a dermatologist, I am wondering whether to ge private.
Some of my groups have cancelled the last meeting due to the virus but WI is going ahead this week and my Trefoil (ex.Guiders) is tomorrow.

Plant pleased you had a good weekend , Yes our family always end up in the kitchen too , it just seems to happen doesn't it

Daisy you are going to be busy today , its all go for Christmas now

Nanto the slow cooker is a really handy bit of kit isn't it , just bung it in and let it do its job

Lizzie how does your leg feel now ? do you know what caused it ? Hope it hasn't stopped you getting out and about xx

Been to Post office and then to Aldi to pick up some seeded bread for toast , I only had two slices left this morning .

That sounds a nice weekend Plant.
Good to hear your shoulder was less painful last night Daisy.
It's annoying that you had to change your plans for an appointment which was then changed.

Well it was all going so well!
Window guy arrived about half an hour after he said, but got the job finished quickly. As he was leaving the furniture van came. They brought in all 6 chairs, table legs and tools, then table top.
The guy had just fitted the second leg when he noticed a deep crack in the wood under the table. He told us then phoned the store. We knew that three of those tables were delivered to the store, so we had to hope both were not spoken for. Luckily they still had one so that is being delivered tomorrow.
The good thing is they got past the Christmas tree with no problem, so I will be able to decorate it.

Off to aunties now via the plant nursery to get her a cyclamen or something.
