Lizzie I had that procedure a few years ago not pleasant but tolerable I then started having the botox injections every 12 mths which helped me the team I go to are very nice and caring.

Daisy I have the feeling that the cheeky cat is sneaking into Jim's kitchen as Jim keeps his kitchen door open during the he gets meat cut off's from Morrisons and leaves it out for Oliver but cheeky cat is helping himself,I now keep Ollies in the cupboard under the sink so he can't get to it,speaking of which he has just creeped past my kitchen door towards Jim's.

I had a nice surprise this morning from my energy supplier Eon they asked for my meter reading I don't have one of those smart meters I just send the reading in when asked I was expecting an increase but was surprised at the weekly cost it worked out at £15.80 per week so changing to the new tariff has certainly worked for me up to now it leaves me with a nice little credit amount towards my next bill,do we still get a heating allowance from the government at Christmas time or was that just for couples.

Tomorrow I was invited to go over to Liverpool to Matthew Street for lunch with DDs future PIL but have cried off because I don't feel 100% they are good company but the mum is very demanding as to where she likes to eat and I enjoy tapas type restaurants with me not feeling 100% I am giving it a miss and go another day.

Have a good day will pop back later x

      Mammogram done ,
Plant I usually go to our local Hospital breast screening unit
This time I was offered a appointment at a nearer Primary care centre ,
To be honest it was quicker there so I was happy .

Gem when I said I didn't have a bra on the girl doing the Mammogram said she wished more woman did that as it allows the skin to relax so makes her job easier .

Lizzie I bet your relieved the bladder is ok although it is still difficult to fully empty .

Glamm its best you don't go for lunch , not feeling so well you wouldn't enjoy it as much
That naughty Pussy cat is determined to get fed from anyone he can steal from isnt it
You have to admire its determination though

Plant how are the little people did you see them the other day ?
How is GD coping with being a Mum and working xx

We called into Iceland on way home and I went into B&M as i wanted some Cotton wool and they had none in at all

Good morning, what a change in the weather. After all the wind and rain today is cold but sunny.

Hope everyone feeling under the weather feel better soon.

Just back from having my Covid booster, all went well. I went early allowing for busy traffic, finding parking etc and of course there was no traffic and I parked easily so was really early. I hovered outside for a bit but then took a chance and went in, they weren’t worried about the time, people were walking in with no appointment anyway so I got seen straight away. So I was in and out before my time, glad about that as they were queueing outside when I ca me out.

Today I am making a Christmas cake! I haven’t made one for years but feel like doing it this year. I know it’s a bit late but it will be fine, when I told GS he was very pleased. He is taking an interest in baking as his girlfriend is very keen. They made a lovely chocolate cake and rocky road yesterday, delicious.

Have a good day everyone 🌞

Cats can be very crafty go get to food! You would be pleased with the energy supplier.

Good Friday morning, everyone. It's bright and sunny here and I ought to get some washing in - when I've said 'hello, Grannies!'

Lizzie - just think of all the experience that lovely nurse has amassed in 28 years! I do hope all this will prevent future cycstitis problems for you. I hope your DIL is taking it easy - I don't think working from home is a soft option when you're under the weather.

Enfys - isn't it typical - you leave early and then there's no traffic. Still better that than the other way. I made 2 Christmas cakes two years ago using a recipe a Domestic Science teacher gave me when I was about 14! It literally keeps for years and is delicious. I might do more this year. When I was teaching I always used to make them in half term, and they would be fine by Christmas. How lovely your GS and his girl friend are interested in cooking/baking.

Oma - good tip to go for screening without a bra. Like Plant, I haven't had one for several years, so perhaps I ought to request one sometime.

Glamm - poor Ollie missing out on his tasty treats from Jim because the naughty cat is grabbing them. Ollie ought to have stern meows with the invader. I think you're right to take it easy until you feel properly better, and it would be tiring battling your way through to Matthew Street plus being 'sociable' if you do't feel like it.

Plant - we still don't know when New Patio Man will be starting work, and the delivery firm range this morning to say could they change the delivery of the garden furniture to Monday morning as they are short of drivers. It's fine by us - we're not going to be sitting out sunning ourselves any time soon.

It was the usual scramble this morning of Sainsburys and bins. Not helped by the Sainsbury's driver parking next door, seeing our utility room door opening and piling the crates up there while OH was putting the bins out and retrieving Eva from a walk about! It's quite a high step up there and OH had to almost get on his knees to reach everything. Me? Oh, I was enjoying a hot shower!!

OH and a friend are busy with the chain saw sorting out one of OH's log piles. Some of it has got too wet and needs throwing out and some needs to be cut down to fit the log burner. OH will share the wood that's good for wood turning with the friend who has only recently started turning. And I will be happy that an untidy pile has been sorted out.

Enfys I love Christmas cake ,
Each year I made one large one between myself and FIL as we were the only ones that ate it ,
Once he died it didn't seem worth making one ,
I now but a slab of M&S Christmas cake but I still prefer home made .

Will you give some to GS ?

My DS always said it was the Devils food he hated it

Definitely Oma, he’d never forgive me otherwise. I shall share it with the family, SIL always enjoys a slice ...or two!

OH and I both love Christmas cake, with marzipan and icing, so I make one every year
I did consider buying my ingredients this morning, but as we already had our small trolley filled to overflowing I decided to leave it for now!

Bright and sunny here, washing on the line again.
                  Off to see mum soon.

Hygienist this morning, teeth all clean and sparkling now!

Had a phone call earlier to say OH was being discharged tomorrow. Great, no more hospital visits! DD went to see him on their way home and spoke to a doctor who said he won't be discharged until Monday. Haematology have started him on new meds and they want to keep an eye on him in case of bad reactions. So, I'll have to brave the hospital again! I think we were all looking forward to him going back to the care home where he knew the staff and the routine, but he's got a few more days in hospital. It's not the staff sren't caring where he is, but it's different faces every day so he doesn't get to know anyone very well.

Come home to an empty house, DD and family have gone home, DS is away for the weekend, so I've been to M&S and got several days supply of ready meals which I can have when I want! Popped into Hobbycraft and got some box frames and CH******* ornament thingies which I'm going to make into 3d pictures for presents. That's the plan anyway!! Not sure what else I shall do in the free time I'll have. Housework and ironing seem to have taken a back seat lately, so I might tackle that at some point.

I don't normally make my Christmas cake until the beginning of December!!

Enjoy the rest of the day ladies whatever you're up to!xx

p.s. Nanto, hope your BiL makes a good recovery.
Plant, hope you're soon feeling 100%.

I made a Christmas cake for friends for years, I can't get all the ingredients here so I missed last year and this, I am just thinking DS1 and family go to a British shop near Den Haag and he could get me what I want.

Gem - it wouldn't be Christmas without Christmas cake, with marzipan and icing.

WeeGranny - I'm sure your house must seem very quiet and empty without DD and DS there, and some M&S treats sound just the job. If the housework and ironing aren't hassling you for attention, ignore them and enjoy making up your box frames. I'm sorry your OH has got a few more days in hospital, but better to be sure than sorry. It must be hard for him when he keeps seeing different doctors and nurses.

I don't know why I am surprised you can't get all the ingredients you want for a Christmas cake, but I am! What are the things the Dutch manage to live without? I'm very curious.

Daisy, I use mixed fruit, if I looked here I could get it all together really, what do the Dutch live without? They are very much cream cake lovers but not really pastry, they have treacle but nothing comes anywhere near Golden Syrup! (DS1). Jellies etc, they have the but not the same at all, breakfast cereals, not much choice really, we are getting to see more the last few years. DS1 loves his Shreddies. Joints of meat, very rare here. I wouldn't know where to go to find lard. Not many pickles etc.

Oxo cubes, Bisto gravy, meat pies, strong tea, mincemeat or pies, things like Jeyes fluid I would never find here, not to forget the crumpets.

We have more choice than there was a few years ago and with the Lidl having their British weeks we can get a few things then.

Lizzie it sounds so strange saying Lidl have a British week
We have trouble getting certain German things ,
Before the lock down we would go to Germany stock up on stuff we could freeze or keep in the cupboard ,

with Brexit we not sure what we would be allowed to bring into the country now .
There is a German Deli in London but just the postage alone is expensive .

WG shame OH isn't out tomorrow but better they keep him to check than get out and be taken back in .
Our Dentist isn't doing Hygienist appointments yet .

Must be quiet all the family going home and away .

I have done my Ironing then cleaned all the insides of the windows downstairs ,Plus mirrors
My Karcher ran out of steam on the last Mirror so I will have to recharge it for upstairs windows and mirrors and do them tomorrow .

We had a shower earlier but its nice now and the wind has dropped .

Oma, that will be a problem with the German things, DS1 used to go to the UK a few times a year but not at the moment, the shop near Den Haag have problems getting most things here as well. We do have 2 Polish supermarkets in the village though!! I did buy a turnip a few weeks ago in the supermarket, grown in the UK!

I go to the mouth hygienist next month, she works together with my dentist. I got a call this afternoon from the lovely young male nurse that did the bladder test, he is ordering everything for me and wants me to measure it all for him this weekend and he was going to phone me after 3pm on Monday then I remembered my flu jab so I mailed him and now I can phone him on Monday morning.

We have had a very windy day with a few showers, it should be dry over the weekend.
