Yes, they look excellent carrying baskets Lizzie!

We have had a lazy day so far.We were up yesterday morning for the hairdresser, and I will be up tomorrow for GS1, so we had a lie in today. After breakfast we watched The Cube and Strictly, both from last night.

OH has gone to meet some new ladies to go around the golf course and play a few holes. It is wet and drizzly so we will see if they turn up.
I am compiling tomorrow nights quiz, and I am going for nice relaxing bath in a while.

Another beautiful Autumn day here, but I think we're forecast rain later on. Towels all dried ready to be put away. There seems to be a mountain of ironing piling up, so I should get that tackled, but not today!

OH was a bit brighter than yesterday, but rambling! As I'm sure some other members of the forum will agree, this is the cruellest of illnesses. One of the nurses said it was worth coming to work just to see his smile!

Hope Plant's Christening has gone well. Haven't been to a Christening for a long time......17 years ago in fact now I come to think about it. Same with weddings!

Going to get the towels folded and a box I emptied yesterday looking for something, which wasn't there, put away again!

Have a good evening ladies xx

Hello, everyone. I've been AWOL all day! We were going to a niece's for lunch, with her sister, OH and son plus the nieces' Mum and Dad who are down from North Wales for a few days. They only live about 45 minutes away but we couldn't take Eva and it would be too long to leave her, so my friend M said she would come over at lunch time. She had an accident last week and has hurt her hand, so I offered to make her lunch. So I was up fairly early, walked Eva, made lunch for M and prepped some vegetables for her for tonight's dinner, and then went to the niece's.

We had a lovely lunch and it was great to see the family - we haven't seen most of them for over a year. None of us could remember exactly when!
By the time we were coming home the rain had started and the traffic jams were building up.

We got home, sat down with a cuppa and both fell asleep! Socialising is still tiring after all the lockdowns.

Plant - I do hope you have had a lovely family day with GDD1's Christening. What did she make of it? I'm sure your lovely GS3 will find a flat share quickly.

WG - how are you feeling? I do hope your OH is able to get back to the nursing home soon - although the nurses will miss his sunny smile. It will be much better for both you and him. In the meantime get plenty of rest and beat that lurgy off.

Nanto - it took me a little while to remember that Holmfirth was the location for Last of the Summer Wine! I loved that show - they were all such characters. Was it good to finally have a whole day at home?

Gem - how exciting, new furniture. It sounds as though you are planning plenty of parties at your house with the extending table and lots of spare chairs. I hope you find the right coffee table soon.

Lizzie - those panniers look huge and it must be good to get all your shopping in one go!

Oma - have you been clearing leaves again today?

I hope everyone is ok and enjoying a cosy, relaxing Sunday evening. xx

Good morning Nan2 and little bird! Good morning all other passers by today.

WG, it's good that your OH was brighter, I hope he is discharged today.
That was busy day Daisy, no wonder you fell asleep!

GS1 day today. We are going out for lunch then to see Boss Baby 2 (his choice!) at the cinema.
                            Quiz tonight.

                            Happy Monday everyone.

Good morning everyone, very dark and wet this morning after a lovely sunny day yesterday.

Plant, I hope the christening went well.

Daisy, you did have a busy day! Yes the panniers are really handy, I got them long ago when I worked at the charity shop, later I gave my DIL2 a bike I had as there were no hand brakes and I almost ended up under a car! The bags were on the bike for all the time they were in Rotterdam, I had others but nothing like these so when they moved the first thing I asked was that they got the bags off the bike for me. Which they did. I can do my shopping the place the shopping bags in them.

WG, it must be so worrying for you all, I hope that your DH gets back into the home today.

Gem, enjoy the day with GS1.

Gemini, busy day for you but an enjoyable one.

WG, pleased to hear your OH was quite cheerful, how lovely he has a lovely smile for the nurse. I hope they discharge him to the nursing home soon.

Daisy, busy day for you, lovely to be able to spend time with the family but it is tiring to socialise again.

The Christening was lovely, GGD1 looked lovely in a pretty white dress, cardigan and shoes. When the priest, conducting the service, poured water over the front of her head, she was at first alarmed but then said “more”. GS1 (her brother) aged four, organised a men against ladies stationary football game in the garden, he came in asking for another lady, looked at me and went out again. The blinis went down well followed by pizzas and salads. Amazed at the weather, chilly but sunny.
