Good morning, Oma you put me to shame! I am always up early but don't seem to get as much done as you do! I am now having to wait for a parcel, it is personal from the medical care so I have to be home to receive it. I have a Too Good To Go box to pick up in the next village, I do prefer Lidl but they went far too fast last night!! I missed out.

Gem, I am like Oma, like to get it all done early on.

Daisy it is dry here but dull, at least it is dry.

Oh Oma, you made me so guilty, I slept till 9.30 and would have stayed longer but I have to make some blinis for the christening of GGD1 tomorrow, no idea what other food they are putting on.

Daisy, time to wrap up those tender plants I suppose, I don’t have any that need wrapping. I have an open fire but do not light it anymore, I would love to.

Will pop back later to see what others are up to

Oma and Lizzie , I am the opposite of you, as late and as slow start as possible suits me I think Daisy agrees.
It will be lovely for you to see M and C.
We just eat at home then go to C and P for drinks and nibbles during the evening. We do a You Tube quiz for an hour or so, which they do every week.

Hair cut, sun out, we may go back to look at tables now we have the measurements!

I'm definitely with Gem - no early starts for me unless essential.

I didn't get the gardening done! Our neighbour's trees have become a problem growing into our house gutters and constantly blocking the drainpipes and soakaway. They are moving in a couple of months so OH offered to help with cutting the trees back, and our neighbour said was he free today or tomorrow. We're out tomorrow so OH has spent all day tree-loping. The trailer is groaning with twigs and small branches now but our living room is lighter and the gutters safer!

I've spent quite a time online shopping, had a chat with DIL2 had coffee with a friend and done a few loads of washing. Just off to take Eva for walkies.

Daisy, DS2 has had sun panels fitted on their garage and he and a friend were busy all day on Monday cutting the tops of trees to let the sunlight through. I was there on Wednesday, it all has to be tidied yet but they will have logs for years to come!

I have been to the supermarket where GD1 works, for my Too good to go box, very good value, cheese, meat, veg etc and a chocolate cake that I took to their house and a smoked sausage. Then I went for my eggs, it was lovely on the bike. I came home and took my washing in, all dried today, then I got rid of 2 plants as they had scale insects in, I have done all I could but it didn't help, I will go and get something else tomorrow morning.

After M&C went to MIL's we went out and cleared some leaves from the garden then had lunch ,

Was watching Father of the bride 2 and must have dozed off , woke about 45 minutes later , B had dozed off too

The wind is getting up and it looks stormy so waste of time clearing leaves as you can be sure the garden will be full again in the morning

Lizzie all your too good boxes sound lovely , as I have said before our Lidl ones are rubbish .

I'm definitely not an early morning person either! Phone rang very early this morning and any other time I'd have let the answerphone take it, but was worried it might be the hospital. Got up grabbed the phone and it was an International number which hung up as soon as I picked up the phone. Maybe just as well they couldn't hear what I called them! That was me, wide awake! However, I got all the spare beds stripped and sheets etc washed and on the line. Then I did the bath mats, but they're still on the line! They can stay there until tomorrow. Collected all the towels and they're in the machine ready for tomorrow.

Went and saw OH. Parked at P&R and walked to hospital. OH very down and uncommunicative today. He should have been discharged, but they've started new drugs and want to see if there are any side effects. I may have posted that info already, my apologies! Didn't want any of the treats I'd taken in and he looked absolutely exhausted. So I got him comfortable in bed and came home. Feel as if I've got a cold coming on, sore throat, runny nose. May have an early night with a couple of Panadol or something similar to see if I can shake it off. All going well, OH will be discharged to the care home on Monday where I'm sure he'll be much happier. He realises that there is no way I could look after him at home which helps me not feeling too guilty about him going to the home. I shall take in some pictures etc for him tomorrow to make it feel more like his room rather than just bare walls.

I've got Shetland to watch tonight and I think there are a couple of other things in the box which I can watch rather than the Saturday night offerings on TV.

Have a good evening ladies xx

Gem,you haven't missed anything by not going to Holmfirth.
I expected it to be more towny than it was.
If you wanted to see Nora Batty's house it was a car ride away.
We didn't dare move the car,for fear of not getting parked up again.
Sids's cafe was in the town, little town that it is.
At least we can say we've been.

                          Good morning.
I think today will be my first full day at home for nearly 3 weeks.
First job is to clean the fridge.

WG, hope OH is perkier when he gets out of hospital.

WG, I am sorry to hear you have the dreaded lurge (sp) now, it is certainly doing it’s rounds atm. I hope they transfer your OH soon, better for him and you.

Gemini, shame your visit to Holmfirth wasn’t what you expected, OH and I used to love that programme.

Nanto, enjoy your first day at home for three weeks, leave the fridge.

I will not be able to join in much today, it is GGD1’s Christening at 11.30 and then we are all going to their house. I wonder what she will make of it. GGS1, her brother, has been informed that she might get presents but he will not but I have a little gift for him. Saw GS3 (the one you met in Birmingham) yesterday, he is desperate to find a flat share in London, he does need to spread his wings and London is calling. GS2 and his partner are here for the Christening, so lovely to see them. They are looking for a venue for their wedding, poss.next year if they have saved enough. The bank of GM will pop something in their account.

                              Good morning.

Nan2, along with cleaning the fridge try to take some you time today. I don't feel I'm missing anything by not having been to Holmfirth now!
WG, there seems to be a lot of colds about, I hope you feel better today. I'm sure your OH will feel much happier back at the care home, and it will be a good thing for you both to make his room more homely for him.

A very dull wet morning here, but I don't think it's raining. Golf again with the newbies for OH this afternoon.
We bought a dining table and six chairs yesterday. It is one we have looked at before and liked. The middle of the table opens up to seat more, and we have several folding dining chairs which live in the garage. So, family and friends groups can be accommodated! It should be here in December. The coffee table I loved and wanted, when we checked measurements was too big for our living room space, so back to the drawing board with that one. We had lunch in the coffee shop at the furniture store, as it is on of our favourites.
We had a very good evening at C and P's.

I hope everyone is well and has a good Sunday.
