Plant that is a good idea. My auntie gets the cleaners to do hers and it's relief for her.
I'm glad you are happy with the cardigans Oma. I ordered a black one from there which hasn't arrived yet.
Mixed visit to mum as is usual this afternoon. We plan to take her to meet her best friend, and daughter at the marina cafe next weekend, so hopefully that will go well.
I have poured myself a large G&T and going to relax now. Dinner is prepped so nothing much to do.

Good morning, I have felt awful these last few days, when I was home that was, I found the culprits, the amaryllis I treated myself to the other day, I know I am allergic to them but I sometimes try my luck with them! It didn't work so my friend next door was very pleased with them.

I have maybe mentioned I have a younger brother, we haven't spoke for 11 years, his wife got in touch through FB and asked if we could patch it up (not by doing by the way) as we are both getting older and we were always so close, we were as well as there is only 17 months between us. They have been in Spain for 3 months, they have an apartment there, she gave me his number and I said I would phone when they got home, I phoned yesterday and all is well, we were talking as though nothing had happened so I am pleased about that, I have lost my sister so it is nice to be able to talk about family etc again.

Good morning. Dry here and the wind has calmed down.

Hope you feel better now the amaryllis has gone.
Lovely for you to have made up with your brother. 11 years is a long time, not to be speaking.

Today we are going to the farm shop, then to the garden centre and then to the supermarket.
We will have dinner at the garden centre. They also sell other things, besides gardening stuff.

                Good morning ladies ,

Nanto its nice to go somewhere like that you see things you cant get in ordinary shops , I like to browse around Dobbies they have some lovely stuff .

Lizzie I am the same with Lilly's cant have them near me , I feel sick and they bring on a Migraine ,
                Hope your feeling better now
So good you have spoke to your Brother , life is short and as we get older we realise we are not immortal ,
There is 5 in B's family and only B and M speak one Brother they haven't seen for 32 years , he cut himself off and that was it .

Sad but that's the way it is,

Its very dull dark and damp again ,
I have done my weekend blitz of the house ,
As you know I clean every day but weekends I like to do all the paintworks and any jobs I haven't done during the week.

I did think about leaving it all as I didn't sleep well but its done now

I am waiting for news of a GG Nephew being born today , his Mum went into Hospital yesterday to be induced so fingers crossed its today .

                Hope everyone is well
Plant looked like you had a lovely Birthday

Oma, it is sad when families don't speak, a friend of mine hasn't spoken to her eldest daughter for 5 or 6 years and I doubt if she ever will.

                    Good morning everyone.

What a shame the flowers were making you ill Lizzie. I didn't know about the situation with your brother. That's lovely that you are back in touch.
That sounds a nice trip out today Nan2. I bet there will be Christmas stuff in the garden centre now.
I hope all goes well with the baby Oma, do keep us posted!

No plans today. OH has another golf competition. My Friend H, with her brother who is staying with her this weekend, is dropping in this afternoon. The number on the plaque outside our house has inexplicably worn off! Black background, flowers all lovely and bright but numbers a faint outline now. Fortunately we have a rock with our number which I painted a couple of years ago, or no one would know what number our house is! H noticed when she was here and said she had some special material from America which she could use to make a new number. She traced the two digits and has now made it! They will be out and about today so she is bringing it. I will take a before and after picture.
We are feeding the cat of our neighbours two doors down for a week. Mustn't forget to do that!

Have good day ladies, and don't forget to change the clocks before you go to bed tonight.

Good Saturday morning everyone. It's bright and sunny here at the moment, but we had a lot of rain overnight.

Lizzie - I'm so glad you and your younger brother are back in touch. Life really is too short and uncertain not to be speaking to close family. All credit to his wife for making contact. I'm sure your neighbour will enjoy the amaryllis and I'm glad you feel better. I can imagine those lovely swirling golden leaves can end up a sodden, slippery mess in the rain - but enjoy them while you can.

Nanto - Lovely, cheerful flowers, thank you. Enjoy your day out. I enjoy pottering round garden centres, but OH can't stand it. He wants to march in, get everything on a pre-prepared list and get out as fast as he can!

Oma - I wish I'd got half your energy for cleaning. I find it harder and harder to keep things reasonable, and I have to say, it doesn't help that OH is such a hoarder. I hope you get good news soon about your GG Nephew arriving safely. It's alway such a joy to have a new baby in the family.

Plant - changing the bed is a big job, these days, isn't it! I certainly couldn't do ours on my own. I hope you can find someone to give you a hand.

Gem - I hope the weather is OK for S's golf tournament. It will be good to get your house number fixed, and I bet H has done something really lovely. Our house number was on the 'wrong' side of our house - it was there long before we lived here. OH recently made a new one - just a round wooden disk with the numbers carved out. I was given the job of painting it! It's not perfect by any means, but it saves delivery drivers etc having to search for the number.

Glamm - I hope you are still making progress and feeling better. Take care.

Perhaps we should start a Damart fan club for cardigan lovers!

OH has a tip run booked for 1 o'clock, otherwise nothing planned for today, but lots to do.

Sorry if I've missed anyone. I'm just off to strip the bed!

Lizzie, so pleased you have patched things up with your brother, well done to your sister-in-law. My DD can’t have lilies in the house.

Daisy, that new sign sounds lovely, we don’t have any numbers down our road so we have our house name at the top of the track.

Oma, when you say you have washed all the paintwork, I wonder if I should do mine, I think it would take ages and I certainly can’t get down to the skirtings, I do dust them with the long handled fluffy thing. I need to get the sucky up thing out, my GS’s trod in some dirt when they returned me home.

I think I will be fasting today, after my lunch out, my DD cooked a lovely prawn curry in the evening and then we ate cake. I had two bottles of brandy (I think they know something) for my birthday so sil decided we would have a brandy tasting then lined up the bottles and insisted on taking my pic.

I buy my summer trousers from Damart, haven’t tried their cardigans. Love mooching around Dobbies, I have a membership with them and get free coffees, I now have 14 owing to me because of Covid.

Nanto, enjoy your trip out, Dobbies will have all their Christmas goods out now.

Gemini, your mother will enjoy her trip out next week, you are a very caring daughter. Hope the house sale is still progressing.

I'm glad you had a lovely birthday

Daisy, OH has just set off for golf in the rain. Today and yesterday are matches which must be played by a certain date, and her playing partner today is going off for two weeks holiday. Most inconvenient!

I have just lost my post so I will repeat it.

My doorbell rang this morning and when I answered it who should be standing, it was WG. It was so lovely to see her and have a chat. Shortly after GD1 and baby H arrived so WG got to see her too.
